I think you are currently in SEA, did Immigration ask you for the Yellow Fever Vax card?
No. Only time I have ever been asked for it was in Australia. We got to the counter and the guy was processing us in and my buddy mouthed off to the guy that I had recently been to Africa. He asked which country. I told him and he looked at a list behind him. Then he said step aside. They asked for my card but I did not have it with me. They made me fill out some paperwork and told me to watch myself for any illness for the next how many ever hours. I do not think it is routinely asked for unless you are coming directly from a country where yellow fever is a problem.

Thanks for that reminder. Do you know if Philippine, Thailand and Indonesia also require the Yellow Fever vaccine proof?

FYI: Warning if you are Flying into Colombia From Brazil

I found out couple of months ago, if you are flying into Colombia from Brazil, you are required to show a yellow fever vaccination card. You don't need yellow fever vac card flying into Brazil.

The Avianca clerk at Rio airport took pity on my despondent face, and she told me the "hack" flying on Avianca. Purchase a full fare, refundable ticket from Bogota to Quito, Ecuador (or anywhere else). Then she can put the 2 flights together, using Bogota as a layover. Then she doesn't need to see your vac card. Then when you are in Bogota, leave immigration. The small risk is if border agent ask to see your yellow fever vac card.

Then after you enter the baggage claim area, go and cancel your flight. It took me an hour to get my bags. Minor problem is that Avianca gave a flight voucher (good for 1 year) instead of a full refund.

Got 4000 last week when I arrived in Bogota

Today, 7 days later it's already up to 4,203.274 a great exchange rate. Now if only airfares would come down from the stratosphere.

    Schwab Maximum

So if you took out $1000 today you would not be able to withdraw again until 3 am the next day.

All of this however is independent of the ATM you are using. So the lady said I would probably have to run around to different banks' ATMs to withdraw the money since each bank also sets a daily limit for your card.
I managed to get my maximum daily withdrawal limit permanently raised to $1,500 a few years ago.

    Exchange Rate for June 28

I just checked the Visa exchange rate for tomorrow and it will be 4,129.87 per dollar. This is one of the best rates in a very long time.

Remember the ATM (cajero) basics: don't get your cash from Bancolombia because they have a 600 mil limit and charge a sizeable fee. Better banks to use are Davienda, Colpatria or BBVA. Also never accept any conversion rate that is offered if you just decline that offered rate you will get the Visa Exchange rate which will be considerably higher.

Landed on a red eye this morning

Got to Baggage about 6 am and went straight to the Cambio next to the baggage carousel. Got 4,000 to 1 so fuck the ATM, all of the airport cambios have sucked for years. For some reason the one next to baggage started giving very close to the official rate and they are continuing this for my last 3 or 4 trips this year. I hope it continues.

    Exchange rate changes at midnight

I checked Visa and MasterCard. They both changed the exchange rate at midnight local time. I imagine they adjust the rate according to the time zone of the transaction. I can't imagine they would use EST worldwide.

For me (US Passport), they always just punched 2 holes in the cover and first page with the photo and send it back, Visas or no visas.

I have no idea why they send back the old one when renewing but its appreciated. I like flipping through the pages of my previous 3 passports and looking at all the different shapes and colours of the stamps each country uses.

DR on arrival they use the dog tag shaped one but on departure they use the square one.

Thailand on arrival its square but on departure its triangle shape one.

Canada shaped like a postage stamp on arrival and on departure its the oval shaped one.

Colombia with the orange and purple.

My favorite is the multiple "canceled without prejudice" stamps on my US visa in my original's country passport LOL.

I am looking at my expired passport now, not the last one but the one before that. No corner cut on the cover. Two holes punched through the front cover and that's it.

I did not hear it, I experienced it. Okay it was a different situation than it expiring. I sent it in for more pages and they kept it saying it was damaged because the corner of the picture page was coming up. When I told them about the visas they fedexed it back to me.
