True. But in my post I was talking about a normal male-female encounter when I mentioned age of consent within the confines of the state that I am from. (And actually you can get married and enlist in the military below the age of majority with your parents' consent.)

Actually, what is important for US citizens is the doctrine of extraterritoriality and for US citizens that doctrine draws the line at 18. Ignorance is no defense. You can bribe your way out of what YK describes as the 'fuck me in the ass colombian prisons,' but you cannot typically bribe your way out of the doctrine of extraterritoriality. The age of majority is 18 in Colombia.

I withdrew 600,000 COP last night, no charge. I used an app on my phone to analyze the exchange rate and I paid. 7 % no complaints here.

FYI about a few weeks back bancolombia is now charging 12 mil pesos to withdraw from their ATM. With a max of 600 mil that means they're adding at least 2% to the transaction. Caja social seems to be the only one left not charging a fee.

The preceding was posted on this website last month. It is false. When using a foreign debit card for a withdrawal the receipt from the machine says there is a 12,000 peso charge. But there is no charge. Period.

Have you considered not fucking anyone under 21 or 25 or some other sensible age as a means of staying out of prison? I understand 18 is old enough in Colombia but you're walking a thin line. If it turns out her ID is bogus you go to fuck me in the ass Colombia prison.

18 is old enough in the USA As well.

I really hate some of [CodeWord902] girls I have run into in Medellin. They will lie, lie, lie and tell you anything they can think of to get with you and then lie some more. And when you still tell them NO they will call you weak and scared. Jajaja and say it isn't illegal in Colombia. Some are quite nasty at a very early age.

I googled it later and it's a Contrasena ID until she gets a Cedula, which said would take a few months. Need advice please, because I liked her, if anyone had been in a similar situation. Her facebook also shows her age over 18.

The problem with contrasenas is that they are easily falsified and I don't know of anyway to check there validity unlike a cedula.

If I were you I would drop her until she can produce a valid ID.

It is true they are issued the temporary ID when they apply for their cedula. Even though they are told it takes three months to receive the cedula, it will probably be received in about a month and a half. I am providing some support for two young sisters there. The oldest one turned 18 last year and she went through that process. Now the oldest one can sign and do all the legal stuff for her sister, which uncomplicates their life somewhat.

Uber has been having off and on GPS problems in Colombia. Besides what you mentioned, sometimes drivers have been unable to start or end trips, causing delays in pickups. I had a couple of trips that never got charged to my account. A way to avoid pickup delays and the driver not finding you is to send the driver a text message or call him. You can only use the phone number registered to your account to do this. It works well.

When I was in Medellin in November, I used Uber a few times. It was hit or miss because I never knew where the car was located. Even though I put in the exact address, I am not sure that info was transmitted to the driver. Sometimes the car would be a half block away from the address. A couple of times, the app showed the car on the street, but I couldn't fine it. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you find the car on a busy street?

Find your exact location on the map. The locator and the addresses can be off by quite a ways on the Uber app. Move your pin to your real location. And take notice of the license plate of your Uber.
