The only time I had that problem it was because I had chosen the wrong destination airport. I had selected the Olaya Herrera Airport instead of the Jose Maria Cordova Airport.

Airlines' carry on luggage 22 x14 x9 max including wheels

    https://www.consumerreports.org/carr...carry-on-size/

Check your air tickets for luggage allowances. Most tickets should allow you 1 carryon luggage under 22 x14 x9 inches which fit in the overhead bin, also a soft bag for personal items. If your luggage exceeds 22 x14 x9 inch including wheels and handles, check luggage fee can be expensive. Airlines will dick you for high check luggage fee.

I bought an American Tourister carry-on flexible roll along case in Bogota. It fit inside the box at the VivaAerobus' counter, but they nailed me for $145 fee for a flight from Medellin to Mexico city.

At Volaris' counter in Mexico City, agents told me the piece did not have to check in, it's slightly large but would fit in the overhead bin. But at the gate, Volaris agents refused to let me board, had no workers to take it back to the counter, told me to take it back, which was half the airport away with long waiting lines, would take hours and I would miss the flight. Damn.

I came back to the gate talking to the English-speaking flight crew chief. He said he could not take the chance not being able to close the overhead bin and the plane could not take off. He had a real safety and regulation concern as a bursar, not trying to dick me for extra luggage money. After all passengers boarded, he told me my luggage would have to stay behind. Lucky I had a smaller pilot roll-along case that fit inside the big one. I packed valuables into the smaller case, wore an extra sweater under the jacket, discarded some old clothes inside the brand-new Am Tourister alleged carry-on case at the gate and boarded the plane to go home. Another passenger also had to discard his big hard case and carried all his clothes in a trash bag onto the plane. That was allowed.

So buy a pilot carry on case 22 x14 x8 to prevent ridiculous check luggage fees by cheap airlines. Don't forget this perfect Medellin beauty by Botero.

    Pre-registration form

    John Gault.

As I remember the flight number takes only numbers, not alphabet.

What airline are you flying? I don't think they will help you at the airport.

I had the same struggle. There is no info out there if J&J is considered a full single dose vaccine by the Colombian government. At least that I could find.

I came in last week with J&J back in August and a J&J booster just 24 hrs before my flight. They didn't say or ask anything. I do think the booster should not have been considered in any way shape or form since it wasn't 14 days old.

Do I still need the Negative PCR to enter?

I live in Barranquilla about half my time and have been searching all over for the answer to this so I don't show up for my flight tomorrow morning and get denied.

    Thanks for any help guys.

May I say Merry Christmas and an incredible New Year to come for all..

If your shot was more than 14 days ago, you don't need the PCR test, just your vaccination card showing the J&J vaccine.

    J&J Single Dose Vaccine

As of December 14,2021, visitors to Colombia ages 18 or older will need to provide proof of complete vaccination for entry. If your final COVID vaccine was less than 14 days before entry to Colombia you will also need to have a PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival in Colombia. Visitors ages 18 or older who have not had any vaccine will not be eligible for entry to Colombia.

Unvaccinated Colombian residents are permitted to enter with a negative test. Tourists are not! Huge change in attitude compared to their former unvaccinated, no-testing policy. The only fully-green countries for North Americans now are Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Dominican Republic -- no medical requirements.

    Liberalization of drugs

I suggest; Liberalization creates even more dangerous criminal gangs; out of business they re-invent themselves as kidnappers, extortion, attacking sensitive businesses vital to the function of the society.

This while in drogwars, Gang A kills Gang be members only and vice versa.

Is it the best option to just accept that we can't get a better society, this is "As Good As It get's."

Are there any empirical, historical studies on this?

If the limit, imagined by both Police and criminals, that the battle we are fighting is about drogmoney, there might be a red lline to cross.

In comparison drug-related criminality are relatively "mild" compared with assassinations of politcal or business competitors, or vendettas.
Your theory would be "be nice with the narcos because they can be nastier". Drug cartel can actually not be more nefarious. Kidnapping, extortion corruption, mass murders already happen despite their juicy business.

Back in the days many report said very negative things about Medellin. Simply to hold off competitors to fly in and ruin the game.

This post comes in a time when Medellin is widely accepted as a superb destination for a longer holiday with or without "prepagos", or retirement location.

Medellin practically always have good weather, I have never experienced bad. It sometimes rain a lot, but not for days and days, like in in Asia with the Monsun.

Practically all days are good, very good.

Winter? Medellin has 21-22 Celsius in medium, range is like 15-33 Celcius, very very stable.

Somehow a funny report. The guys, back in the days; Medellin is under siege from criminal gangs, etc etc, calling a splendid summer a winter does not do the trick to keep away competitors for Luxury _Pocahontas_Pussy.

This is what Medellin iss best known for and is also real; Pocahontas Babes are everywhere and they love gringos! Literarlly!

Now I don't want to be disturbed anymore by Plebejians, I'm listening to Harmonielehre (John adams).

I'm thinking the grey, cool, and wet would be Bogota. I've been in Medellin when it rained, but I never have been there when I would call it cool.

But Bogota is such that you want a jacket in the evening at least virtually all year long. And an umbrella handy.
