Disclaimer: This is not in response to any one post or poster. Several people on various threads have weighed in on this.

None of the rules or restrictions that have been put into place over the last 9 months are liked by anyone. Nobody did a happy dance when they found out they needed to put on a mask to buy toilet paper. Except for the people making a bundle off of testing, nobody is happy about having a q-tip jammed into their brain in order to fly to Colombia. Nobody wants their favorite bar to close Thursday afternoon and not reopen until Tuesday.

However, posting about how stupid something is, or how useless, isn't going to change it. The Colombian Minister of Health isn't making decisions based on what he reads on ISG. He's looking at information none of us have. He might not be making the decisions each of us would make, but I doubt there are many people here who are qualified to make those decisions. Using a toilet for 50 years doesn't qualify you as a plumbing contractor.

So why bother with what you think they are doing wrong? It's not important. If Colombia makes a rule that you can't wear Crocs, black socks and cargo shorts at the same time, it doesn't matter why they made the rule, or how stupid it is. The only thing that matters is if you need to change your wardrobe.

The same is true with quarantine, pico and cedula, mask requirements and anything else. La policia doesn't care what you think about the mask, he only cares whether or not you're wearing it.
