I believe Siglo XXI's located down past Centro in Barrio San Jose. Approximate address is Cra 25 or Cra 27, Calle 39.

Imperio Persa is located approx. at Cra. 41 and Calle 44 in Centro.

Yes my bad, what is the name of the place in Prado though that you get a good deal and how is the noise level ?

Yes I agree guys go to Colombia for only one reason. But in BAQ it is just all the more obvious.

I think SM is much nicer, but less selection of ladies.

Rates during Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro or Port of Spain, Trinidad during their Carnaval period are probably similar, if not even higher. Any other time of the year, the price structure of BAQ hotels is much more reasonable and a great value, depending on your interest and budget.

To be frank, I never hotels pay more than 70. 000-80. 000 pesos ($30-35 USD) per night in BAQ. That price includes hot water, reasonably new (within the past few years) A/C unit, free internet access in room, free breakfast, daily maid service, 24 hr security, etc. For a double (me plus 1 guest). Located in Prado, great location. No guest fees. No hassles. YMMV.

Same could be said for pretty much every city in Colombia, save Bogota and Cartagena, where there is plenty of international presence. Why else do single men go to the other cities? The weather? Investment opportunity? Get real. It's the chicks.

Medellin, for all the hype, the chicks are the main draw. And everyone knows why foreigners are there, just the same.

At least in BAQ, the weekend rumba is top-notch, and during the week, the beaches of both Cartagena and Santa Marta/Rodadero are only a little more than 1 hour away. Options for everyone.

    Its in some newpapers

Also not all cab drivers know this place, I asked 3 or 4 before finding one that knew about it. Its a good 15 minute drive from el prado, lusitania, etc.

Beers are 3, 000 pesos and 40k for sex including the room I just don't remember if it was for 30 mins or 1 hour. I went on a Thursday around 7 pm. Only 9 girls, most of them 6 and 7s imho, the ad from the papper said that they open around 3pm but that day only my table was occupied. The place its big, clean, looks fairly new, its way bigger that any of the clubs around el prado.

You are right the hotels in baranquilla are a very poor value. The city is loud, hot and smelly though so I would have reservations about trying to stretch my budget too much. Also be aware as you move down in price many of the places advertise AC but the AC unit dates back to the 70's and does not blow cool air.

If it were not for the girls no one would never see a tourist. Everyone will know why you are down there, haha.

For Carnaval, I am fully paid and confirmed for a decent place (hot water, internet, a/c, clean, secure, daily maid service) during the 4 nights of Carnaval for the grand total of 360. 000 pesos (approx. $156 for four nites, not bad) for the entire time. Yesterday I sent the entire payment down to someone that I personally know and trust, and I have a copy of the receipt from the hotel. In 2008, it was only 300. 000 pesos. Inflation. I'm not posting the name of it here, so don't bother.

I say this to say, you can find reasonably priced decent lodging in BAQ, IF you're really willing to research it. Forget about the Dann Carlton, Windsor, Charleston, BAQ Plaza, American Golf, El Prado, Sorrento, Versailles, Costa Linda, Majestik, Tarento, Alvaro Jesus apts, Torre del Prado apts (ripoff anyway), etc. They all want 250. 000-500. 000 pesos A NIGHT to start, additional 100k in fees for a guest or double. And they will generally not budge since they will get their rate. None of them are worth it, since you won't spend much time in the hotel during Carnaval days and nights anyway. It's the one chance annually for BAQ hotels to jack up their rates, much like the hotels and apts do in Cartagena and Santa Marta during high season. It is what it is.

Check out places like Hotel California, American Inn, Hotel Monterrey (in front of Lusitania), or Hotel Dorado. I have no idea of the prices, but these are decent places to start, all located within walking distance of calle 72. They are not balls-to-the-wall luxury at all, but clean, safe, decent economical accommodations during the "high season" in BAQ.

I'd posted a list of BAQ hotels a couple of years ago, in a. Pdf file. It might be in the Nibu thread. I think I recently saw it there when Jackson cleaned that mess up. You can use it to find more economical lodging in BAQ during Carnaval, and there are newer hotels available since that list. Again, you need to be able to communicate in Spanish, as many of these hotels don't do English, and why should they? BAQ receives few English-speaking tourists in general. SO, you have to play their game. Spanish. Here's the yellow pages of BAQ hotels.

    http://www.paginasamarillas.com/hote...859/index.aspx

Here are a couple of aparthotels near the main Carnaval action. You'll have to call them for rates.

    Aparthotel Eslait - http://www.paginasamarillas.com/www....1_1/index.aspx

    Aparthotel Yivinaca - http://www.paginasamarillas.com/www....1_1/index.aspx

Another idea. Bring nothing valuable and stay at the motels around BAQ. Probably around 100.000-120.000 pesos a night (24 hours). http://www.paginasamarillas.com/mote...7_1/index.aspx

I'd recommend El Faraon, although a bit farther north, and Imperio Persa in centro. Both are secure, but I wouldn't leave anything in the rooms.

On another note, two more strip/monger spots to add to the World Traveller's list are Imperio Persa and Siglo XXI (21) in Centro. Much cheaper than Pasarela Show, Lucitania, etc. Clientele not for the faint of heart, but a few gems available from time to time. No English spoken, and it's best not to down there either.

    Hope this helps.

Day 25 of 28 in BAQ

This will be my final report from BAQ this trip as the last 3 days will be of no interest to you guys as I will be with the Novia. Last night checked out, Chicas por La Hoja, Carrera 44 # 72-243, at Calle 72. A narrow walkway takes you to a decent bar area. A cold bottle of beer was I think 2. 5K. About 10 girls, none tha I liked so I left without checking the fare.

OK Sat. Night so I will give Lusitana one more chance. Place was loaded with many 7s and 8s and 2 or 3 Dimes. 10K cover 10K beers. What a joy to see the best looking women this planet has to offer, IMHO.

I did not want to pay the 180K so I went to El Centro to my favorie plce in BAQ, Bananas. The only problem there is the waiters hate to give you change. I finally learned and always now give them the exact change now. Kind of a pain in the ass but you get tired of getting ripped off. I walk in and I am like a king there. (Sucker). LOL Any way took the same girl I had last night. No BBBJ that time, but this ime I used a tried and true method to get proper results. She trys to put the condom on me and I say no sexo just BJ sans condom. She says no so I say OK lets just lay down for the 20 min. And relax. After a few min. Of that I say, You now I was going to give you a nice tip but nevermind. No sooner did I say that, my BBBJ was given to me with CIM. I was going to give Her 20K but it was so good I went for 40K. She was very happy with that. Plus the 50K she already got.

    I love Colombia!

    I lied

    Victor’S, Carrera 48 #72-93, (no sign outside). Prices: 100k. __.

I had just said I was done Mongering for this trip and then My Novia told Me she was sick last night. Since there was still places I had not tried I went to the above address and as I was walking to the door I saw a bunch of lawn chairs out front and 3 or 4 Chicas sitting there. This was great as it gave Me a preview of what was on the inside. As I walked in I asked for a beer and was told they do not serve drinks. OK, I sit down and they bring in 7 or 8 girls who instead of walking by and giving you a kiss they all just stood there waiting for me to choose. They ranged from 6, 7 and one 8. I took the 8 She was tall and was as white as any Gringa. No in house room but the deal is 100K for an hour and there is a short time hotel close by for 15K. Not bad, with mirrors all over the place. Everything covered and the attidude was good. Her name was either Adreanna or Christina.

After that I went to the Pasarrella Show Bar and the talent was good there. About 10 Chicas and 2 hombres. I wanted to do one of the three that I had bought a beer for. It is cool when you have 3 women trying to entice you for your money. Trouble I was not keeping track of my bankroll and I then found out I was short for the 120K. Anyway told the sad faces I would see them later. All in all not a bad night in BAQ.

    Info re Aparts Alverez Jesus

I asked a question yesterday with the location--near hotel el prado. The management responded to my email. They want a 50% wired or western union. They don't take credit cards.

Does anyone know this place? World traveler's list has a website link. It looks upper end at a good price. A/c and wifi in each room. Free use of conference room for meetings. Is it female guest friendly? I'm not comfortable wiring 50% down for a place I don't know. World traveler is usually right on the money, but sometimes he takes recomendadtions from other people who are not as savey and honest as he is.

    Help Brothers!

    Went Bananas

21St day in BAQ. Finally went to El Centro last night to check out the talent. First went to Bannas on Avenida Murillo y Calle 31. There was a kind of rough crowd out front as was mentioned by an earlier poster. I was alone but on a closer look these charactors were mostly Cab Drivers, people selling candy, etc. I walked in and paid 4K for a beer and took a seat. About 15 Chicas there and around 20 hombres. I was the only Gringo, But felt no bad vibes. Of the Girls there was one srong 8 a few 5's and the rest 6's and a few 7's All in all I was pleased with the selection. I picked out a 7 and bought her a beer. There was no rush in her manner and As We sat and listened to the music she was rubbing my leg. The price was 50k in house. The room was Ok. The Bar had a runnway and for the two hours I was there two girls did a pole dance. Both got completly naked. I really liked the way the whole thing is set up. You can talk to the girls first, then go right to the room right there. All most forgot, No BBBJ and She was pleasent enough, but as expected the usual 20 minutes type of deal.

I left and walked to Calle 27 on the same street and went in to Cheaters. 4K for a beer and about 10 Girls with only one worth having so I left quickly and took a cab to Cosmos, which was recomened by my driver. What a dump. 2. 5K for a beer and all Beasts present.

All in all I have had enough of Mongering this trip and for my last week will concentrate on the Novia and much DFK.

Forgive my ignorance but, what's up with the Colombia Cupid site? Seems like a legit dating site. I've talked to several chicas on there and haven't even gotten a hint that any of them are pros. I'm a veteran of Costa Rica never been to Colombia but it's next on the hit list. Any info would be much appreciated as I am thinking about hooking up with one that I met on that site.

I met My Novia on this site and she is for sure not a Puta. She works 6 days a week 10 hours a day at a Beauty shop. I did the dectective work on My own, since I don't like get -ting scamed. My Wingman who is a lot younger than Me has met at least 8 Chicas on this site and they were all OK . His rate of banging them is about 75% Another good thing about these Girls is they are very helpful with info you need if you are new in town.

On anoter note, I went to the SW Park on Calle # 70 and there were 5 or 6 of them there and each one was terrible to look at.

While in town if you like Carne, go to Rodizio on Carrera#82 - 53-57. This is a Brazlian Steak house that has a touch of class. 14 different cuts of meat and a great salid bar. No kidding $10 US. I love Colombia!

It is a legit dating site and you can get lucky there, but I know 3 girls on there for a fact I know are prepagos. For a fact! They are just like any other typical girl trying to improve their life and the word gets out fast so in turn it tends to attract all kinds of women!
