Next month I will travel to Barranquilla to visit my chica (well, to know them after chatting some time :) ). She says that lives in the "Norte" of the city....she says that its a good quarter.....anybody knows any good hotel in there. I dont want something luxous, only decent and correct and chica freindly.

hey peter,

how do you like metrotel? when i left barranquilla in december i basically saw them everyday in buena vista trying to get new customers. if i recall the brosure said they go up to 2000kbps download, maybe it wasnt that high. i tested it and it wasnt even close in the mall, but it wasnt horrible either. in the end i decided, if i were to do it all again, id still go with teledinamica but i just cant remember why. for testing i use vonage's link. but really you can just google "bandwidth speed test" and a zillion possiblities show up. i've used various ones just to compare with the vonage link i always use to test it and they are all fine. just an idea,, but if people come to you looking for apartments... it was a real pain going through an agency for a gringo. not necesarilly, because of what they wanted... more because the slow nature in which they do things and the changing every day of the terms. finally, i just wnet to the apartment i liked the most and said look... this agency is a real pain in the arse. i want to live here. you are more than welcome to pay them whatever referall fee you want, but i refuse to deal with them. if you want me to live here, heres the deal... yada yada yada. no contracts, no deposits... nada. i moved in the same day. the agency was pissed, even though the owner did pay them the referal fee. in the end, that's the way to go in my opinion, even though it may be easier said than done.

also i suggest the following for anyone young or maybe even up to say 35 or possibly 40 if they are active... is a pensionado close to a university. i lived closed to autonoma and there were signs all over the place for pensionados... especially right about now, after school has started back up and they find that they have no one to rent the place to. i went by quite a few places just to check them out, and inquired into living at them. i told them where i lived and just wanted to know if they would rent to me even though i am not a student. pretty much everyone of them said yes.. in a heartbeat... and the prices they told me were about 30-40% of what i paid... though most were unfurnished. but still.. that's a good deal. it's just my suggestion... any thing you can do to get around using an agency is absolutely what you want to do.

thanks for your observations, i would not call myself top notch. simply an honest guy who lives up to his words, and does what he says he is going to do.

and especially never leads anyone into a dark alley for many reasons, 1) that is not the way i was brought up.

2) i don`t need to , as i am fortunate enough to make a pretty good living, and 3) to me is more important a good referral like frank`s and many others i have gotten over the 10 years i have been doing this as side business,(as i also have my regular job and do pretty well.) then whatever money i could get in a dishonest way.

4) i never bullshit anyone, i don`t need to and it simply is not my style.

and if i ever read a bad review about my services, that person is going to really have to prove to me , he really knows me and has used my services, there are just too many envious bullshitting losers out there.

about the internet, nothing is etched in stone, if frank is not happy, i will be more than happy to go shop for options with him.

i have metrotel, not the greatest, but it performs up to par. i have 512kbps, and according to www,speedtest.net, that is what i get downloading and a little lower uploading.

Thanks for the info buddy :) I understand that now. it's just people keep going on and on about how beautiful the women are in BAQ compared to Rio thats why I was asking. and how good the non-pros were. But I guess BAQ is only good if you speak and live there/ know people down there.

also BAQ doesnt sound realistic place for vacation if all one is going to be doing is chase pussy all day. nothing to do from sun-thurs? that means a guy is going to sit in his hotel the whole fucking day until friday comes. meanwhile rio has the beaches and all that. Don't think twice about BAQ, its not even the best p4p destination in Colombia. RIO rocks thats the truth. Like thousands of p4p options. Its hugely better than BAQ. Period. Like the man said, unless you've got family or connections in BAQ and prefer Spanish over Portuguese then go to RIO. Even then, make an excuse go to RIO and see the family via Webcam or something.... The answer is RIO, RIO, and RIO.

Rio has many plusses, more than BAQ, as identified earlier. I've become fond of BAQ as I have many friends who live there. Therefore, I don't do the tourist deal there. My perspective is different than most.

BAQ's not somewhere you would go on vacation, UNLESS you know people there, or were going for Carnaval. Sun-Thurs, there's NOTHING to do in BAQ, as most bars/discos are closed, and people are either working or in school. It's gets boring very quickly, as trips to Buena Vista and the other malls mount up, due to the need for the A/C factor. Yeah, there's museums, but......yeah right. The better beaches are in other cities, Santa Marta (1 hour to the north) and Cartagena (1.5 hours to the south). In contrast to Rio, where there's never enough time to do everything even though everything is right there.

Women-wise, Rio is a world-class location. The pro action is in another stratosphere. The raw, exotic beauty as well as the porn star experience where there aren't many limits combined with the potential for the GFE as well is one of the reasons why it remains a world class monger destination. Your experience will depend on your ability to convey yourself and cut through the bullshit in Portuguese. Yes, you can more easily navigate Rio using English only, but I wouldn't rely on it. Non-pros can also be had, but even that depends on how you plan your trip, aptitude in Portuguese, where you try to meet them, etc. I hear that they're pretty jaded of foreigners, knowing why they are in Rio.

A choice between Rio and BAQ is a no-brainer. BAQ only works well when you know people there, esp. since the p4p scene is pretty small and the party scene is limited to weekends. Rio works whenever you want it, and however you'd like it. None of this is a knock on BAQ. Rio is a lot to compete with for ANY city.
