Yes, there are parts in the south of BQ which are more dangerous than centro. Which area exactly was it that the drivers said is dangerous? Because that never happened to me, but then I don't normally take a taxi to the south, and not likely to walk there either. There's no reason to go to the south, except for the bus terminal and the airport beyond.

I also never had a problem bringing a guest into a hotel, but I don't know about the top tier hotels where I don't stay.

Me, too, I grew up in a cold climate and like my showers and jacuzzis warm. This afternoon I had a hot shower from the coldwater tap, just because of the sun shining on the rooftop tank. But that's about as far as solar technology generally goes in Colombia.

You're mostly correct, at least for Colombia. I did discover a Facebook connection into Bogota, but never pursued it. Bogota prepagos are easy to find on Twitter. There might be other social media sites which are popular in other cities, but breaking into them isn't worth the effort to me, unless I'm planning to visit.

Of course, if someone is connected to lots of girls in Medellin, I'm sure they could find someone who knows someone in Barranquilla.

Everybody in Colombia knows that Medellin is hooker central. Even when a chick from Medellin hits me up on a dating site, I lean more towards her being a hooker looking for money whereas when a chick from another Colombian city hits me up I lean more towards her being a normal chick. Him going to Barranquilla expecting it to be like Medellin is like him going to Georgia and asking what are the best casinos to go to like in Las Vegas. Two DISTINCT places.

Not so fast. Now you know the only place I stay in Medellin is downtown 24/7. But in Barranquilla, that would depend on which part of town you are in. I was going to surprise visit a chick that I mess with at her job in the south. She had already told me how dangerous it was. I called an Uber who showed up and when I got in the car and he realized where I was going he said not a chance. I called another Uber and he said he would take me but there would be a risk.

When I got to her job, which is an insurance shop at a gas station, he even made me take off my sunglasses and Timex sports watch before I got out of the car. I said damn man it is that rough around here? He said YES. So I ran in to talk to her about 45 seconds and ran back to get into the car. And this was about 4pm in broad daylight.

There are plenty of decent budget hotels in the area, find them on booking.com. All the better hotels are up north, except for one: Hotel El Prado in beautiful vintage arquitecture. Any hotel will have air-con. Only upmarket hotels have hot water, but you may not need it, none of the locals ever use hot water.

Anywhere in Colombia, the more upmarket a hotel, the more difficult they will make it for you to bring in guests. Budget hotels don't care, better hotels will have you register the guest and pay for two people, more guests may be difficult.

Partially not true. I have stayed in many places in Barranquilla ($30 and up) and they have all had hot water. Hell free breakfast too! I have stayed at a few upmarket hotels and have never had problems bringing in a guest or being charged extra the next day after having multiple guests or when a guest spends the night. Of course I always book for 2 people, but that does not stop the hotels (budget or upmarket) in Bogota and Cali from fucking you over though.

I am in Cali now at a hotel that cost me $34. My girl enjoyed taking many showers in the freezing cold water and I enjoyed my hot water after her. We called ourselves going up to the pool (although the sign said jacuzzi) but that mf was ice cold. No way I was putting one toe into that shit.

If you want to find girls online, try Tinder and Seeking Arrangements.

There definitely is a centro in BQ, but in mongering terms it's nothing like Medellin. Whether you want to go there depends on what kind of action you want. There are bars with girls, open mostly at night. But there are no street girls like in Veracruz, maybe because nobody here would stand outside in the sun for very long.

Look at WT69's map to see where everything is. There is only one casa in centro, the rest are mostly in and around barrio Boston. With Cabify and Indriver, you pay with cash on the agreed amount as shown on the app. I've been on regular yellow taxis here and they were safe, but more expensive. I've been to Santa Marta with my paisa GF, but never had the chance to monger there so no clue what Bananas is about.

Since you are into curvier women, I would suggest Siglo 21. I will venture into Templo de Amor, which is across the street from Siglo, again since last time I went with Arcangel we left right away because it was too crowded, hella loud music, and super dark ambience as in you need to bring your night vision googles.

Barranquilla is hot as hell during the day, so if you walk bring dry fit shirts and shorts. It's not like Medellin where if go out with shorts and flip flops you're in gringo uniform. Locals here wear shorts and they don't see many gringos, much less a chino, so they wouldn't have a clue what a gringo wears as opposed to Medellin (gringo central). I walked 30 minutes during the day with a nearly frozen water bottle, 20 minutes in, it turned lukewarm. I suggest do the walking at the malls: Buenavista or Viva. Those 2 I have been to, but I'm sure there are others.

I can tell a paisa through their accent. Paisas are people from the Antioquia Department of Colombia and Medelland is its biggest city. It's also loosely used to describe the Caldas region or others as well. I'm no expert, but that's the best I know to my knowledge. Costeas are people from the Coast: Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena, etc. Their accent is stronger, deeper, and more slangish whereas paisas pronounce their words completely and use a nice prolonged tone on their last syllable. As to which group is hotter in general, I'm more biased towards paisas.

I guess you used those apps to get back from Siglo XXI too, as you said just hailing a cab there is too dodgy? Thanks to RiceRocket99 for being my wingman on Saturday night, it was fun touring the "underbelly of Barranquilla" with him. Early evening we went to Luxury Spa, Mariangel Spa, Seduction Spa, Relax Spa VIP, and ended up at Elite Spa just before their closing time at 9 pm. I usually do 30 min but this time we both went for 60 min. Well, I only got 30 min effectively, the girl tried to tell me time is up early, to get away because she'd made plans to meet friends after work. A shame, because I thought she'd be a favourite of mine when I first met her a couple of weeks ago.

To get around we got rides using Cabify and InDriver. Uber is not good in BQ now. You can hop in a yellow cab but you'll pay maybe 50%-100% more than finding a cheap ride on InDriver, many of which are the same yellow cabs. Often you can get a ride for as low as 5 k.

We found three places with the same name Mi Discoteca Bar Club and same layout, must be same owner. The bar is a big you-shape with the girls inside. At Calle 45 #39-60, as soon as we came in the door, about ten girls ran towards us like a flock of geese at feeding time, smiling and tugging us. We were almost the only customers in there. Beers are 7 k, girl drink 14 k incluces a lap-dance. One of the girls was cute and slim to my taste, and it was fun the way she ground her ass on me. They brought her a second drink without asking me, but I let it pass. No rooms on site, take out fee 200 k or maybe 150 k, open until 4 am. I got the girl's whatsapp and may see her later.

On my last post I reported closed Mi Discoteca at Cra 41 #43-60, but we found it open! Mi Discoteca at Calle 38 #38-66 had just closed for the night, at midnight aparently.

The bar at Cra 40 #40-53 is now called Makumba. On the map there is a bar at Calle 40 Cra 40, in reality there's nothing there, delete.

I'm glad I finally got to see Siglo XXI. It's not in an industrial area, but not a good area either, careful around there, especially at night. I wouldn't necessarily recommend hopping in any of the numerous taxis waiting outside to pick up drunk punters, I think a ride from an app is safer because it's recorded.

Siglo XXI is a big place, and not dark and smelly like Templo del Amor across the street. There were maybe 30 girls, occasionaly one would dance on stage and then go around collecting tips. None of the girls were to my taste though (slim, young, cute), but I'm not much of a night club guy.

There are many more bars in BQ that we didn't get around to that night. Those who like Siglo XXI may want to check out Cheaters, for example.

Last week on mileroticos I found an independent venezuelan beauty of asian ancestry with a university degree and went to see her in her plush hotel room. An hour of GFE for 130 k, well worth repeating.

Appreciate the feedback. For the casas that I hit up, most women were naturals, more dark skinned, and a good mix of costeas and venezolanas. Overall, the casa quality wasn't impressive, but it was from a small sample size during one day. I'm more the drinking and partying type guy so nightclubs are my thing. I tried to hit up La Hoja, which is next to La Troja. La Troja is a big outdoor type salsa club with regular people dancing and drinking, but I couldn't find La Hoja and my driver said it's closed down. Didn't bother to confirm and just left to Siglo 21.

The casas in BAQ are spread out so taking taxi / ride sharing is the way to go. There's uber, cabify, indriver, and regular taxis. Fastest and sometimes cheapest option is indriver where you offer a price on the app on how much you'll pay from point A to point be. Either it gets accepted or not, if not then you can increase your price until someone accepts it. Indriver is used by taxis and normal drivers as well. I tried Uber a few times, but it doesn't seem like a popular option here so always took a while to find a driver nearby. Most fares were 6 to 10 mil to go all over BAQ.

I've been here for 4 days and staying for a week. Just a quick background of myself: I'm Chinese, in my 30's, have been going to Colombia since 2012 (mostly Medellin, but I have been to Cucuta, Bucaramanga, and Cali), and I can also speak Spanish. It's my first time in BAQ and it's been on my radar for a couple of years. Before I get to my report, just a big shout out to Arcangel as he was in town and we got to hang out all afternoon and into the late night on my third day. He's a cool and chill guy, knows BAQ like the back of his hand, and showed me a lot of the mongering scene here.

I landed at BAQ from MDE and paid a cab ride of 30 mil to my Airbnb apartment in Alto Prado. At the airport, there's a taxi counter that offers fixed rates throughout all areas of Barranquilla and beyond. The rates and neighborhoods are all listed. I paid, then went outside and showed the ticket to a cab driver and off we go. The Alto Prado area is a middle-upper class neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. It was very safe to walk around during the day, night, and even late night. AC is a must here because it gets very hot during the day, but cools down at night.

Day 1: I'm more of a nightclub kind of guy and prefer to party it up late. Casas are cool, but not my preferred choice of mongering. I set up a date through Seeking Arrangement. We had been talking on whatsapp on and off for about a month before my trip. She picked me up on Uber and took me to a very nice Japanese fusion restaurant called NOA & Robata. It was very elegant and the clientele were classy and the bill after showed it in numerical terms. After dinner, we went to Frogg, which is a very upscale club where the hot, young, and rich Colombians party or so it seemed to me at least. I bought a bottle, drank and danced for couple of hours, and her cute friend came through as well. My girl's looks were disappointing (when do they look like their filtered pictures anyways), so I sorta distanced myself from her and just enjoyed the clubbing atmosphere. I saw some of the hottest Colombians in this club, and I've been all over Colombia. They were dressed like they about to go on a Nicky Jam / J Balvin music video, and I don't doubt if some of them actually were in one. I just wish I could break into their social circles. Anyways, afterwards we parted ways and I walked 20 minutes back to my apt around 3 am to burn off all the eating and drinking I did. I wasn't interested in banging her or ask about her price point. But she was nice. Day 1 ended with no pussy action, but lots of eye candy action.

Day 2: I looked at WorldTraveler69's map and saw some casas within a 15 minute walking distance from my apt. I headed to Zero Stress, which has already been talked about here. I walked in, had a girl presentation, saw 2 girls that were my type with big boobs and pretty face. There were about 8 girls available. I was quoted 70 mil for half HR, 100 mil for an HR. I took the hour option. I went with a girl named Daniela with big natural tits, ass and cute face. Started with a little massage, then went to kissing, and offered propina (20 mil) for BBBJ. Glad I did because she deep-throated like it was the last dick on earth LOL. I asked for her whatsapp so I can see her outside the spa, but said she's not allowed to do that. Then I said, how would anyone know? I tried asking couple more times, but she still refused. Oh well.

At night I headed to Pleyclub. I knew going in that it was a pricey place. It was very clean and pretty upscale. I was shown a drinking menu and ordered a half bottle of guaro for 80 mil. There were about 8 girls, but most were already occupied by 2 tables of dudes. One cutie was available, called her over for a drink, and I can tell right away from her accent that she's a paisa. We connected very well since I know Medellin and I have even stayed in her barrio before (Bello). But I'm not here to do paisas, but costenas or venezuelans. She quoted me 280 mil for onsite and 600 mil for takeout. I was curious about the pricing so I asked without any intention of doing anything. After I finished the bottle, I went to Siglo 21. This is definitely my spot. About 20-25 girls with all shapes, sizes, and colors. Bought a half bottle of guaro for 45 mil, much cheaper than Pleyclub. I talked to a few girls and was quoted 80 mil for half hour onsite. I prefer takeout. Bar fine is 30 mil. Girl fees are negotiated beforehand. I was quoted anywhere from 200 mil to 500 mil LOL. As I was drinking, I sorta lost interest in negotiating and decided to call it a night at around 3 am. I didn't partake this night, but enjoyed the place. BTW, the cover to enter was 13 mil.

Day 3 (Colombia Independence Day): I had been in contact with Arcangel, so we decided to link up today in the afternoon. I was already in Buenavista Mall to people watch and eat lunch. He came through and we decided to do some casa / spa hunting. He's an expert in that scene, so he led the way and I simply followed and did it very happily. We went to a few spots, but none had anything we both liked and most had only 2-4 girls available. He would contact the places first to make sure they were open since it was Colombia Independence Day. We were not going to give up and getting laid was inevitable. We grabbed some food to recharge and headed to a spot where we had our mission accomplished. I don't remember the place since we went to about 6 casas and almost all had no names or signs, just addresses. Arcangel can chime in on the name. I took a Venezuelan with fake ass and tits, I prefer natural, but I don't mind plastic. The price was 55 mil for half HR and 85 mil for the hour. We both took the hour option. She was decent and gave me BBBJ without asking for a propina. I did tip her 10 mil afterwards. We both went back to our apts and decided to hook up later that night to hit up the centro girly bars.

I got to his apt building, then we both started to stroll the centro area at around 11:30 pm. This is obviously not recommended for anyone to do alone, during their first trip to BAQ, and with no Spanish skills. But I was with Arcangel, who's a vet here in BAQ, and we both speak Spanish. We were in the underbelly of Barranquilla and I loved it. It was smelly, grimy, trashy, slippery, yet cozy and breezy at the same time. We must have walked into around 15-20 girly bars within a 2 hour window. Some were on same street, others we had to walk quite a distance. We went to a place called Mi Discoteca Bar Club, but there were 3 of them within the same area with the same name LOL. Trust me, I'm confused too. This place, I had never experienced an entrance like we had. Once we walked in, there were a group of girls yelling and chasing after us in a good mannered way, I had to brush them off continuously as they looked at me like fresh meat, but none of them peaked my interest. I didn't expect much from these bars, but it was a great experience thanks to Arcangel. While walking around centro, I noticed the locals looking at us like we were aliens from outer space, probably wondering if we were lost or what the hell we were doing in areas like these.

At one bar, after we walked out and started looking for the next spot, the security guard said don't walk that way (pointing down the road), which looked dark and super sketchy and warned us that it was dangerous. Arcangel, after looking at the online map, said the next bar is in that same direction, so I looked at the security guard and I told him jokingly I'm dangerous myself. We proceeded to walk down that dark, sketchy, trashy street and found our next spot. We arrived alive and well. I must say, there were times I felt a bit scared, but maybe I was just being a pussy LOL. All in all, there were probably 2 bars I would go back and check out again since we pretty much just walked in, peaked at the crowds, then walked out of each bar.

In the end, we went to Siglo 21 since that was my spot. I found a paisa who was down to go back to my apt for 150 mil. I said earlier I wasn't going to do a paisa, but it was rule breaking night. I paid the 30 mil bar fine, finished the bottle, dropped off Arcangel, and got back to my apt around 3:30 am. We kept drinking, chatting, dancing, and partying in my apt until the sun came out. I did my deed and she left around 7 am.

Day 4: Tired as fuck.

Silglo 21 was my pick also during my trips to BAQ. Matter of fact my best mongering experience was at this spot. You are right this is one hot city during the day.

Hotel Continental was a great hotel I always used. Completely girl friendly. I wonder if that is still the case? I also agree with you on the beauty of the women there. Many 9's,and 10's as you walk thru the Buena Vista mall. As far as you guys walking around the shady areas at night, it is good to hear you were not scared rabbits. LOL.

We had been talking on whatsapp on and off for about a month before my trip. She picked me up on Uber and took me to a very nice Japanese fusion restaurant called NOA & Robata. It was very elegant and the clientele were classy and the bill after showed it in numerical terms. After dinner, we went to Frogg, which is a very upscale club where the hot, young, and rich Colombians party or so it seemed to me at least. I bought a bottle, drank and danced for couple of hours, and her cute friend came through as well. My girl's looks were disappointing (when do they look like their filtered pictures anyways), so I sorta distanced myself from her and just enjoyed the clubbing atmosphere. I saw some of the hottest Colombians in this club, and I've been all over Colombia. They were dressed like they about to go on a Nicky Jam / J Balvin music video, and I don't doubt if some of them actually were in one. I just wish I could break into their social circles. Anyways, afterwards we parted ways and I walked 20 minutes back to my apt around 3 am to burn off all the eating and drinking I did. I wasn't interested in banging her or ask about her price point. But she was nice. Day 1 ended with no pussy action, but lots of eye candy action.

Day 2: I looked at WorldTraveler69's map and saw some casas within a 15 minute walking distance from my apt. I headed to Zero Stress, which has already been talked about here. She quoted me 280 mil for onsite and 600 mil for takeout. I was curious about the pricing so I asked without any intention of doing anything. After I finished the bottle, I went to Siglo 21. This is definitely my spot. About 20-25 girls with all shapes, sizes, and colors. Bought a half bottle of guaro for 45 mil, much cheaper than Pleyclub. I talked to a few girls and was quoted 80 mil for half hour onsite. I prefer takeout. Bar fine is 30 mil. Girl fees are negotiated beforehand. I was quoted anywhere from 200 mil to 500 mil LOL. As I was drinking, I sorta lost interest in negotiating and decided to call it a night at around 3 am. I didn't partake this night, but enjoyed the place. BTW, the cover to enter was 13 mil.

Day 3 (Colombia Independence Day): I had been in contact with Arcangel, so we decided to link up today in the afternoon. I was already in Buenavista Mall to people watch and eat lunch. He came through and we decided to do some casa / spa hunting. He's an expert in that scene, so he led the way and I simply followed and did it very happily. We went to a few spots, but none had anything we both liked and most had only 2-4 girls available. He would contact the places first to make sure they were open since it was Colombia Independence Day. We were not going to give up and getting laid was inevitable. We grabbed some food to recharge and headed to a spot where we had our mission accomplished. I don't remember the place since we went to about 6 casas and almost all had no names or signs, just addresses. Arcangel can chime in on the name. I took a Venezuelan with fake ass and tits, I prefer natural, but I don't mind plastic. The price was 55 mil for half HR and 85 mil for the hour. We both took the hour option. She was decent and gave me BBBJ without asking for a propina. I did tip her 10 mil afterwards. We both went back to our apts and decided to hook up later that night to hit up the centro girly bars.

I got to his apt building, then we both started to stroll the centro area at around 11:30 pm. This is obviously not recommended for anyone to do alone, during their first trip to BAQ, and with no Spanish skills. But I was with Arcangel, who's a vet here in BAQ, and we both speak Spanish. We were in the underbelly of Barranquilla and I loved it. It was smelly, grimy, trashy, slippery, yet cozy and breezy at the same time. We must have walked into around 15-20 girly bars within a 2 hour window. Some were on same street, others we had to walk quite a distance. We went to a place called Mi Discoteca Bar Club, but there were 3 of them within the same area with the same name LOL. Trust me, I'm confused too. This place, I had never experienced an entrance like we had. Once we walked in, there were a group of girls yelling and chasing after us in a good mannered way, I had to brush them off continuously as they looked at me like fresh meat, but none of them peaked my interest. I didn't expect much from these bars, but it was a great experience thanks to Arcangel. While walking around centro, I noticed the locals looking at us like we were aliens from outer space, probably wondering if we were lost or what the hell we were doing in areas like these.

At one bar, after we walked out and started looking for the next spot, the security guard said don't walk that way (pointing down the road), which looked dark and super sketchy and warned us that it was dangerous. Arcangel, after looking at the online map, said the next bar is in that same direction, so I looked at the security guard and I told him jokingly I'm dangerous myself. We proceeded to walk down that dark, sketchy, trashy street and found our next spot. We arrived alive and well. I must say, there were times I felt a bit scared, but maybe I was just being a pussy LOL. All in all, there were probably 2 bars I would go back and check out again since we pretty much just walked in, peaked at the crowds, then walked out of each bar.

In the end, we went to Siglo 21 since that was my spot. I found a paisa who was down to go back to my apt for 150 mil. I said earlier I wasn't going to do a paisa, but it was rule breaking night. I paid the 30 mil bar fine, finished the bottle, dropped off Arcangel, and got back to my apt around 3:30 am. We kept drinking, chatting, dancing, and partying in my apt until the sun came out. I did my deed and she left around 7 am.
