One chick said she was $27 short to pay for the semester at school. I told her I understood because I had to stop school for a couple of years before I could save the money to go back and she should do the same. Ain't heard from her since. Rule #1 for apps these days is don't send money. A chick that really likes you would not even ask anyway. I have never had a Colombian that was really into me ask for money, and I have dealt with tons of them.

Sympathizing with their situation is always a good way to tell them "NO" and turn them down gently.

This happens all the time with Brasileiras. For me it often depends on how hot, sexy, or good their BBBJ skills are and if I'm in the mood and want company.

If at the time they qualify and happen to tick all the boxes, then I'll pose the question and ask if they want to earn their "tuition".

I applaud those girls who genuinely wish to earn their keep. Have them do a session, wash dishes, clean up, run an errand...whatever the case. You just got to earn it!

Always a good way to find out how badly she really wants to go to "university".

While I was there recently everyone was laughing about a guy from the states who met a girl through social media, sent her tons of money to rent an apartment and furnish it and buy her clothes and stuff, When he finally went down he found she had spent money on surgeries and everything was enhanced. She didn't want anything to do with him and the apartment and everything was in her name so he couldn't do anything about it. He made a big deal with the police but got now where except on the news for being such a dumbass and they were roaring laughing at the gringo on the news saying he wanted his money back.

He fared better than this poor sap though. At least he didn't get killed. So many guys who have zero game and are socially very awkward in the states think it's easy to go somewhere else and become a king or some stupid shit. There will never be an end to this and the old adage "A fool and his money are soon separated" will play on until the end of time.

He did several videos on Youtube and Facebook regarding his intent to purchase a house and start a business. He put a lot of his business out there. I would not be surprised if the chica was in on it, or someone close to them. Someone took a picture of him sitting on a bench, minutes before he was shot.

I was told and read many times before traveling anywhere overseas to avoid wearing gold chains, expensive watches, and other items that might catch a thief's attention. I don't wear chains or jewelry anyway and leave my expensive watches at home and wear a swatch or similar style. Certain cities and neighborhoods within those cities are even more dangerous than most. I have passed through Barranquilla a few times but never stayed as it did not appear a safe place to stay or visit.

It's a real pity this happened to this fellow.

This morning a buddy that has deep ties in Barranquilla sent me this:

Hey breh. ATL dude in BAQ was set up. The chain thing was a distraction away from the chick. In that neighborhood for 4 months, they had many chances to target him. They waited until after the 690 million peso property deal went through. In that estata 1, maybe 2 area, there's absolutely no property worth that much. Everyone locally that I spoke to said the same. I know the area LOL. I'm speculating, but having only been in BAQ for 4 months, that chick's name is on the property and has access to whatever local accounts he has. Dude was moving way wrong, didn't understand his environment at all, and paid with his life.

Note to self in his next life, don't go around parading like your a reggae rock star in another country, stop with all the pretense and ego thinking that your the shit, keep a low profile, fuck the putas you want and move onto the next, enjoy life and keep the attitude back in the US as it does not go over well even in the costeno predominately black areas of the coasta regions, their is a great deal of jealousy and animosity especially so with the costeno culture.

In my professional career and private life back in the US for decades I was a watch lover, high end expensive watches, and gold chains and bracelets, many purchased on trips to Venice Italy over a course of a few decades, sold them all, everything and used the money to purchase my apartment in Medellin 4 years ago and have never looked back. I don't even wear a plastic watch, nothing, nada and certainly nothing on my neck.

Lot of covid right now.

Not so much that there was a lot of Covid Cases but everywhere I went things were either open 1 day and closed the next or totally closed.

When I got the BAQ they were on a Togue de Queda (Quarantine / Curfew) after 6 pm for the entire city which meant that all the clubs and social life was gone. Then they added a 1 day out and the next in based on the last number on your passport of Cedula for locals (Odd or Even) so you could only get out in the city every other day. As it turned out, my girlfriend and I had the same ODD number so we could get out a bit during the ON days for our number. We moved on the Santa Marta and the day we got there they shut the whole place down for a 1 day open and the next day closed routine (everyone could get out and go to the beach 1 day and no one could the next). It's really idiotic if you ask me but they said they were trying to reduce the number of hospitalizations (never sure if that is true or not. Even here in the states).

Anyway, we stayed at some nice resort style hotels that offered some beautiful views and a few perks for the lock down days. I think maybe because of the lock downs we got into more playtime than I had anticipated by meeting women and some couples at the hotels and our hotel suites provided a nice place for lots of nakedness and fun.

Going back in a couple of months and will start going monthly for a weekend or so. Hope this thing smooth out soon worldwide.

International travel is always fraught with issues since the inception of the TSA and heightened security checks leaving and reentering the states but this crap with the added feature of needing the Negative Test result within 72 hrs of your flight makes things even more so and really makes what is supposed to be a great time difficult.

Every time a foreigner is killed in Colombia they reportedly "resisted" a robbery. How do the authorities or anyone else making this claim know this? Did the perpetrator tell them? LOL There may not have been a chain at all. The article below says chain or a phone, whatever.

I was thinking there was more to it than just the chain. Sounds like he was in a tough barrio, which defines most of Barranquilla. Unsavory people would notice him if he was staying in one area on a consistent basis. If he is buying property there that would create more unwanted attention. One time I took a collectivo from Santa Marta to CTG. I thought it was direct like the other direction and then discovered it was stopping every ten minutes inside BAQ. I did not see anything there that made me want to get off. I suppose you can find lots of chica but the same one's go to CTG too.
