So, in conclusion, I am not particularly enamoured with Barranquilla. It seems that the reason I have met so many beautiful women from Barranquilla in other cities is exactly because they are not in Barranquilla any more and the one beautiful woman I did meet is not even from Barranquilla! The city itself is not up to much either I'm afraid. At least, not for tourists. I'm not writing it off just yet so if anyone has any advice as to where I can go to help me change my mind, fire away!

It was the same thing in Rio when all the chicks came from Belo Horizonte. Go to BH and it was some bullshit. Barranquilla is a place for non-pros. I know nothing about the hookers there and have only paid like 2 SW when I first started going 11 years ago.

Well. Here's my thoughts after tonight's trawl round Barranquilla for what its worth.

Over the last few years I have met countless incredible women who have told me they come from Barranquilla and so I thought I should give this place a visit. There must be something in the Magdalena water, right?

Well, I didn't really like Barranquilla all that much, but the women were the exception to the rule. Here are the two I met from SA. The more white woman was the better looking of the two, but the darker woman performed way better. The white girl was so tight I almost couldn't get in, but she was not that dependable and kind of stuck up.

Hey all,

Been a while since I have been on ISG. My last trip got cancelled so its been almost a year since I have been to Colombia.

My company is sending me to Baranquilla next month. Arrive on Friday, leave on Sunday. They are putting me up at Hotel Ibis.

Are they okay if I bring a girl back for a few hours or the night? Is it the usual register at the front pay a little? Or full no-go? If so, any love motels in the area that would be workable. I plan on hitting Siglo one of the nights--and maybe find a tinder or casa chick if there is a place not too far away from the Ibis.

Any other info like vegetarian restaurants would be appreciated. I have been in Medellin 10 times and I speak Spanish. In general I am pretty comfortable in Colombia. I won't have much free time-so I want to make it work for me when I have it.

Thursday night and things are very quiet in town, which is strange to me because Thursdays in Medellin or Cartagena can be some of the busiest nights going. But then its not a tourist hotspot so that makes sense I suppose.

I thought I'd hit the most talked about haunts and so start with La Hoja at about 10:30 pm. One other guy and around 10 very young girls in and, as described previously, all bar 2 are "spinners". I'd say 8 are in the 3 to 6 range and two might just make 7. One drink (club Colombia - 4 k), a quick "quizas mañana" to the barman and then a short walk over to Pley Club.

As other have said, this is an altogether classier joint, although they don't charge a cover. It is about 11 pm and there are probably about a dozen well dressed guys in and maybe 15 girls. A bit of a step up in quality and variety here. I'd say the range is 5 to 7 with nothing above that. IMHO neither La Hoja or Pley have what you come to Colombia for. Nothing wrong with the girls but you would be forgiven for thinking you were in an eastern European strip bar. Quick gin and tonic (22 k. Pricey?) and I jump into a taxi to Siglo.

I'm excited at the prospect but must admit to feeling disappointed when I enter. I've seen this sort of place before. Basically an aircraft hanger with a long stage in the middle. Each to their own but not my sort of place. No intimacy and I'm not a fan of the whole live performance thing. I like the pretense of feeling like I'm chatting up the girl. It's part of the fun. In places like Siglo it's all too obvious for me. Anyway, I have a drink because I'm a fair distance from my hotel in El Prado now so I'd better give it a chance. Maybe 20 girls and a similar number of patrons. On a busy night I reckon this place could hold a few hundred and it would be interesting to know if the number of girls goes up proportionally at the weekend. As others have said the girls here are altogether more curvy. No better looking mind you. Certainly more variety. From pale to dark, blonde to pelenegra, massive tits, huge ass, flacas, the lot. I'm going to say the range is 4 to 7. There is one tall girl with the classic hourglass figure who is verging on an 8 and so I waste no time in giving her the eye. She quickly joins me and, wouldn't you know it, she is a paisa! She is really good company but after I offer her a drink she takes this as the signal that she can keep ordering as many as she wants. I would have stopped her but I know from other reports that drinks aren't expensive in siglo so no probs. One good thing about Siglo is that you get to try before you buy with a private show so as closing time approaches we go for a private show (90 k. I think I may have been stung there? She gets changed into her Shakira outfit and now she is definitely an 8! She gives a fantastic show and I'm feeling a lot happier about making the effort to come here. Afterwards she gives me her number so I can hit her up tomorrow if I fancy it. The bill for drinks comes to 70 k which is for around 7 or 8 between the two of us. That's probably fair I reckon.

No, it's all under cover, no street scene that's worthwhile.

Spas (casas) are open, prepagos come to town from Cartagena and other places. Pickpockets, too, so don't take valuables to the parades. Accomodation is scarce, book ahead, prices triple. Taxi prices double.

And Carnaval is fun, everybody joins in, it's not a show for tourists. But it's the only time when tourists come to Barranquilla. The hostels in Cartagena and Santa Marta are full in the weeks before and after Carnaval.

Elite Spa is still 50 k and not 53 k. The 3 k is for the condom if you need one.

I didn't go to Siglo but went to:

Perfect time spa 70 k /30 mins with a young spinner. This place has shower.

Spa Orlando is no more I think there were broken window shade and a bunch of arriendo signs all over.

Zero stress 70 k /30 mins, 90 k room with shower. Only 5 chicas around 1700 HR. For some reason I wasn't too impressed with the lineup and left.

Thanks to Arcangel recommendation I had a very good experience at Elite Spa. 30 minutes is now 53 k and 86 k for 1 hour. The room even has a shower so one can have a quick wash.

I also had a good experience at Blue Baq, which is still 40 k for 30 minutes.

I think tonight I will drop in at Siglo XXI to check it out.

Was going to leave BAQ tomorrow but I think I will stay a few more days to explore the casas.
