I will be in Barranquilla a lot over the next 8 months. I am interested in meeting people interested in checking out the casa, strip bar scene. I am easy going, tall attractive and successful. Happy to pay for going out if you have the knowledge about the local scene.

This is a pretty fun city. Just keep your street wits because businesses, supermarkets, and taxis will try to short change you. I ventured to Blue and hired both of the girls at 15:30. Michelle the flacita 20 yo said they close at 17:00 on domingo. 40 k 30 minutes 50 k hour 2 girls 85 k. Performance was really good. I recommend 30 minutes because alot of providers get tired after 25 minutes. They also underestimate out of shape punters. This isn't Brazil. I don't recommend the shower after the deed because it look like a 100 beach goers hit the shower with all the mud on the floor. This place is friendlier to your wallet than CTG. Its like I'm getting 2 x 1 girls with better service than home.

Yes, definitely a great report RiceRocket99 ! I was in Colombia in March, in Bogota, Santa Marta and Cartagena but didn't manage to get to Barranquilla. Have already booked to return in September and it's definitely on my list this time! I think I'll stay in a hotel midtown, so I can check out the daytime Casas easily. At which of the daytime Casas were there more curvier types, I'm into tits and ass all the way, plastic enhanced Barbie girls are not my type at all. At Zero Stress? I don't think I'll bother with Pleyclub, sounds like a bit of a ripoff! What about La Hoja club, did you check that out?

Did you walk between the Casas or take taxi's? You wrote about a taxi from the airport, but how about taxi's once you were there, easy and safe to hail one or did you use an app? I suppose you went to Siglo XXI by Cab, is it easy to hail a cab from there when you leave? It looks like it's in an industrial estate on Google maps. How many chicas were there, and were there many big tits and ass types, many mulatas?

I got a decent size room. Don't think there was a shower but a sink why inordoro. I didn't realize room was separate. I gave 2 50 notes and obviously they give no change. I assumed the 10 in change went to girl. I got the room with black sheets with red polka dots. Bobbie is a cute morena with a proportionate hot body about 5 feet 3. She is the most natural beauty of the 6 I saw. A little baby damage. 20 yo Nicole is blk and cute spinner. Good performance. Baby damage is the theme here. One of the girls on staff don't know how to put rubbers on correctly so my American rubbers burst both times. All 6 girls were young and in shape. Definitely doable and I'm picky.

Siglo XXL was a waste of time and 40 k in cab fare. 13 k for 2 drinks and 10 k cover. Definitely get the incar app. I didn't. Girls were over the hill, fat, and plastic with faces that weren't cute. Was quoted 80 by a mature dark blonde. Club gets pushy after first 15 minutes on drinks and hiring chicks. Don't recommend firs t time Americans come here solo just because the numbers aren't in your odds (20 to 1) 70% of cabbies are a hassle trying to make a living. I will try to find Blue BAQ. Zero saved my holiday. Buenavista is upscale has a lot of eye candy but isn't my fave mall. A bug was in my fish and shrimp plate at hot. Henry's is good to being a date but not solo. Food was cool. Frogg was upscale for CoL standards with 20 k cover. However no gucci and LV purses or expensive duds. Smart. No one wants to get robbed. 10% of the revelers had major BO and I suspect two guys were indiscriminately passing gas in the crowd. Not a good pickup spot since most people come with their crew. A few gorditas and not cute chicks in crowd. Thanks Mr E ArcAngel and Rice Rocket. Seems the coast is more expensive than MDE and I love how restaurants include propina. Please share casas with comparable quality and price point to Zero. I didn't realize Amor was across the calle from Siglo since my wifi was filtered.

If you are comfortable walking around centro Medellin, you'll be ok in Barranquilla. The biggest danger is probably dehydration and heat-stroke.

The distance to the airport BAQ is half of what it is in MDE. There is no airport bus, only a city bus not designed for luggage. You will be glad for an air-con taxi when you arrive, it's only 30 k, official rate.

Biller, you have a number of assumptions which are incorrect. Barranquilla is different from Medellin in many ways.

The prepago network on facebook only works in Medellin. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think nowhere else in Colombia or the world is facebook used in this way. I tried finding contacts from the friendlist of a couple of venezolanas I know in BQ but didn't get far because they all have their location set as Venezuela and they look like just ordinary girls.

If you want to find girls online, try Tinder and Seeking Arrangements.

There definitely is a centro in BQ, but in mongering terms it's nothing like Medellin. Whether you want to go there depends on what kind of action you want. There are bars with girls, open mostly at night. But there are no street girls like in Veracruz, maybe because nobody here would stand outside in the sun for very long.

Has anyone on here stayed in either the BH Barranquilla, Howard Johnson or Genova Prado, all get good reviews, quite close to each other.

I have stayed at BH many times. It is a nice place. You will not get many taxis passing there. Use Uber. I don't usually give out my current favorite because I don't want it to get overrun and there not be availability when I need, but I will do it just for you Coupe. Check out Washington Plaza Hotel.

I think taking taxis will be a must there though as none look like they're in very walkable areas where there's much interesting around! I'll think I'll avoid the Ribai hotel, as a reviewer said he got electrocuted in the swimming pool! That's a pretty bad review if I've ever read one!

With Cabify and Indriver, you pay with cash on the agreed amount as shown on the app. I've been on regular yellow taxis here and they were safe, but more expensive. I've been to Santa Marta with my paisa GF, but never had the chance to monger there so no clue what Bananas is about.

Since you are into curvier women, I would suggest Siglo 21. I will venture into Templo de Amor, which is across the street from Siglo, again since last time I went with Arcangel we left right away because it was too crowded, hella loud music, and super dark ambience as in you need to bring your night vision googles.

Barranquilla is hot as hell during the day, so if you walk bring dry fit shirts and shorts. It's not like Medellin where if go out with shorts and flip flops you're in gringo uniform. Locals here wear shorts and they don't see many gringos, much less a chino, so they wouldn't have a clue what a gringo wears as opposed to Medellin (gringo central). I walked 30 minutes during the day with a nearly frozen water bottle, 20 minutes in, it turned lukewarm. I suggest do the walking at the malls: Buenavista or Viva. Those 2 I have been to, but I'm sure there are others.

I can tell a paisa through their accent. Paisas are people from the Antioquia Department of Colombia and Medelland is its biggest city. It's also loosely used to describe the Caldas region or others as well. I'm no expert, but that's the best I know to my knowledge. Costeas are people from the Coast: Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena, etc. Their accent is stronger, deeper, and more slangish whereas paisas pronounce their words completely and use a nice prolonged tone on their last syllable. As to which group is hotter in general, I'm more biased towards paisas.

Ricerocket99, thanks again for your advice about Barranquilla. People keep mentioning the heat here, but is it any hotter than Santa Marta? I would have thought it was similar. Never felt too bad to me there as at least it's a dry heat.

That's interesting what you said about the difference between Paisas and Costenas, I was thinking you could tell them apart by their looks, that's what was confusing me! My Spanish is not bad, but certainly not good enough to be able to differentiate the accents between the two.

Yes, there are parts in the south of BQ which are more dangerous than centro. Which area exactly was it that the drivers said is dangerous? Because that never happened to me, but then I don't normally take a taxi to the south, and not likely to walk there either. There's no reason to go to the south, except for the bus terminal and the airport beyond.
