There you go with the bullshit. I told you to download Indriver. You would have paid 1/4 of what you did with Uber. You act like you never stopped at the natural gas station in the taxi in Thailand. Same deal but I think sometimes they let you stay in the car. You know they don't give a damn about safety. Guess you did not see this video from Rio last year. The man died but his wife ended up living, if you can call her condition after that living.

I told you I spend most of my time waiting for non-pros to get off work or out of school. Ain't a got damn thing else to do there beside go to the shitty beaches or to the crocodile malecon. Me and a couple buddies love it though. One buddy just told me today that he moved there.

That actually happened to me over in the United Arab Emirates. I was taking a hydrogen-powered taxi from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. The driver pulled into the gas station, asked me to exit the taxi, and proceeded to fill the tank of the taxi with the stuff that torched the Hindenburg. The whole process took a few minutes.

Thanks for your great reports, Tom. Safe travels and keep up the great work!

My 3-Night Romp in Barranquilla, Colombia!

This section of this trip report covers basic information about Santa Marta and Barranquilla!

I have been to a few cities in Colombia, such as Cartagena, Medellin, and Cali, but I still wanted to visit a couple of other cities. This trip was split between Santa Marta and Barranquilla, three nights in each city.

Once again, I used World Travel 69's maps for both locations. I also consulted my travel friend, Mr. Enternational, and he filled in some missing gaps; always helpful.

    Travel insurance:

I purchase travel insurance from Generali Global Assistance for around 160 bucks. Why? During these times, "Quien sabe?" I search for the policy that best fit my needs on Square Mouth.

    Logistics:

    Flight:

I flew on American Airlines, from San Diego to Miami, and then on to Barranquilla. The return flights were reversed.

Barranquilla was home base and I went on to Santa Marta from there for my first three nights.

    Migration Form:

When I was checking in my bag with AA in San Diego, I was asked for my Migration Form to enter Colombia. I was not aware of this form and started searching for the website. This is the website: migracioncolombia. Gov. Co.

It is called CheckMig. There you need to fill out the immigration registration form 72 hours before your trip OR up to one hour before. It took me around 10 minutes to fill out the form and submit it. Once I did, within a few minutes, I received the document in my e-mail box. I showed the document to the AA agent and off I went to the security checkpoint. I did the same thing when I was leaving Colombia, but no one asked me for the document.

    Immigration / Customs:

I blew through immigration and customs in Barranquilla around 1 pm. It took me less than 10 minutes to clear both.

    Money:

On the Oanda exchange website, the exchange rate has been over 4000 to 1 for awhile. But, of course you will not get that rate at any exchange place within the country.

In the Barranquilla airport, there were two money exchange booths right next to each other. The exchange rates were not listed on neither one. Thus, I went to both of them and asked about their rates. One quoted me 1 US for 3600 COP and the other one quoted me 1 US for 3650 COP. It was an easy decision.

The next day in Santa Marta, I went to one of the exchange places in town and the rate was 1 US for 3800 COP. When I returned to Barranquilla, I just used ATMs.

To simplify things for me, I basically divided the prices in COP by four.

    Weather:

It was hot and humid, but I knew that before I left. Every now and then, it rained like cats and putas.

    Communication:

I now have the T-Mobile Go5 GPlus55 plan; no worries whatsoever.

    Spanish:

I heard very little English spoken in Santa Marta and a little more in Barranquilla. If you go to those cities to conduct business, I'm sure more English is spoken. But if you are just a schmuck like me, chasing chicas and eating the local cuisine, there are very few English speakers; especially in strip clubs, casas, and all those other dirty places we visit.

Thus, if you plan to travel to Latin American countries, I highly recommend that you learn some Spanish. It is not that difficult and it opens up a whole new world!

The rest of this trip report is strictly about Barranquilla!

    Welcome to Barranquilla!

It is a large city with very few monger venues. There were not a lot of things to see and do, except to see their famous church, the one that looks like a small sports area!

    Transportation:

I mostly used Uber during my stay. I did use a couple of taxis, but once again, they were clueless. Friday night, I was in Bar Club and I got a text from a bar girl and she wanted to meet at some hotel. I wrote down the directions and headed to find a cab. In hindsight, I should have called an Uber.

There was a taxi in front of the big bolted hands. I showed him the directions and he said no problem. I got in the cab and at the same time, he walked away! He went to a street food area, stayed there, and never came back! WTF? I was frustrated, got out of the damn taxi, and went looking for another! Yet again, in hindsight, I should have called an Uber.

I found another taxi within a few minutes, but this time, he seemed to know where he was going. Off we went and he said he needed some gas. We stopped at this crappy gas station. The gas attendant opened the hood of the car. Then he pulled out some sort of probe and put it somewhere under the hood. The probe looked like it was nuclear, nitrogen, hydrogen, or propane. Either way, when the process started, the driver and attendant both yelled at me to get out of the car! My first thought was I would be dead in seconds, and no less, die a crappy gas station! But, I feel better now.

NOTE: I used Uber when I returned to the airport and it cost $18.

    Logging:

I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton. Nice hotel and I had a great room. Was it girl friendly? Absolutely, I brought in three escorts without any issues.

    Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and I was hoping to find local cuisine such as, ajlaco soup, chiguiro, and lechona. However some of those dishes are regional and I had trouble finding them. I did go out to some restaurants and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

    Cucayo Very good local cuisine.

    Donde Mama Good local cuisine.

    Palo de Mango Outstanding.

    Pepe Anea. Excellent.

Matriarcia Very good, but the band was better.

    Monger Venues:

    Strip / table dance clubs:

In each club, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to chime in with the correct information. I wrote down the prices of the cheapest beer and ficha.

    Club: Siglo X.

    Cover: None.

    Beer: 40,000.

    Ficha: Same.

Sex: 150,000 for 20 minutes, 300,000 for an hour; WTF? I am still trying to understand the price reasoning.

    On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: OK to good.

    Quality of Chicas: 6.

    Night / Time: Thursday /10.

Comments: This was a good size club with some decent looking chicas. It was a down & dirty place located in a bad area; not worth the stop.

Club: El Templo del Amor (less than a block from Siglo X).

    Cover: None.

    Beer: 30,000.

    Ficha: Same.

Sex: 100,00020 minutes, 200,00040 minutes, and 250,000 for an hour. At least their prices made some damn sense.

    On Site: Yes.

    Number of Chicas: 6.

Quality of Chicas: Doable to OK.

    Night / Time: Thursday /10:30.

Comments: This was a smaller club and the volume of the music and the darkness were issues. I could not hear anyone speaking and I could barely see them. I made the mistake of buying a ficha and it was a horrible interaction! I did not stay much longer. Again, it was a down & dirty place located in a bad area; not worth the stop.

    Club: Pleyclub.

    Cover: None.

    Beer: 200,000.

    Ficha: Same.

Sex: 420,000-30 minutes, 800,000-an hour, and the 6 hour takeout price was off the hook.

    On Site: On and off.

    Number of Chicas: 6.

Quality of Chicas: Very good to very hot!

    Night / Time: Thursday /11:30.

Comments: This was a nice smaller club. I had hottie plop down next to me and she was very friendly to say the least during her first drink. After I bought her a second drink, she asked me if we were going to the room. I kindly declined. At that point, her attitude went to hell in a hand basket! I fell in love during the first drink, but during the second drink, I thought of a country western song and cried my eyes out like a damn two-year old child. But I feel much better now!

    Club: Bar Club.

    Cover: None.

    Beer: 150,000.

    Ficha: Same.

Sex: Only after their shift. How much? I never asked.

    On Site: No.

    Number of Chicas: 6.

Quality of Chicas: Ok to just better than OK.

    Night / Time: Thursday /12:30.

Comments: I was walking around that big bolted hands looking for Makumba bar, which was closed. However, Bar Club was open (they are next to each other). I went in and there was a very long bar with tons of stools. It turned out to be a hostess bar and the girls were very friendly.

I started buying cans of Smirnoff Ice and all hell broke loose. The girls started bouncing their asses like it was some sort of completion. A couple of girls upped their game and dropped their panties; I was a happy camper! I wanted to pull two girls out of the place, but I was told it would have to be after their shift at 2. I did not want to wait until 2, thus, I left. BTW, their shift ends at 4 on Friday and Saturday.

    Other bars / clubs:

Because I only sought out the clubs on a Thursday night, maybe some of these clubs opened later OR were closed that evening.

La Hojo: We drove by this club around 11 and it was sealed shut.

La Troja (near La Hoja): The club looked like it was half destroyed OR pretty messed up.

Makumba: Closed. Their last FB post was in March 2020.

    La Orquidea: Closed.

    Murillos: Closed.

El Tunel de Amor: Could not find the place. Their last FB post was in November 2018.

    La Roma: Gay club.

LOS Prados: I may have missed this place or was too tired to go.

Once again, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to chime in with the correct information.

    Spas / Massage:

I did not get a chance to visit any of them.

    Street girls:

The areas were behind Bar Club and the big bolted hands. At night, I only saw a butt-load (pun intended) of trans. Me thinks going during the afternoon would be easier to find dickless street girls.

    Escorts:

I pulled in three escorts from Mileroticos. One asked for 150,000 and the other two asked for 180,000. All three were very different and I completely enjoyed my time with each one. None of them were clock watchers. Maybe that was because I had tasty adult beverages in my hotel room.

Tinder / Glambu: I wasted too much time on both apps! There were many responses, but no one followed through. I am done with those apps!

    Final thoughts on Barranquilla:

It was a seeking putas and eating great food trip. I thought the city was safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. Would I ever return to Barranquilla? No! But only because of the lack of adult venues. Also, there were not a lot of things to see and do in the city. However, having said that, I still had a good time exploring Barranquilla. It was a large city and I was hoping for the best. But after one night, I ran out of clubs to visit. Would I recommend the city to other mongers? No!

Como siempre, Solo mis dos pinche pesos, por supuesto!

    BAQ girls

I'm back in Colombia for work for about 5 weeks. Started in BAQ and managed to squeeze in three sessions. First up was Laura who had a positive review on dondolombia. Petite and cute MILF with a few extra pounds but reasonably firm. I wasn't expecting a stunner but was expecting very good GFE service which she provided. Sweet, fun, no rush, excellent BBBJ, and aimed to please. About 200 k for the hour at my hotel. Next was Andrea at Inframundo spa. She was also positively reviewed on doncolombia. Same deal. Not beautiful but doable and her service was excellent, especially the BBBJ. 150 k for the hour including the BBBJ. On my last night there it was a roll of the dice with Kelly from mileroticos. I usually avoid mileroticos as there is so much bait and switch. Fortunately she was a quite beautiful costena who provided very good but not great service. I think it was 250 k for the hour at my hotel. I very much enjoyed all three of these girls for their good service with no BS. They weren't amazing or exceptionally beautiful so I probably wouldn't give them high recommendations, but if you're looking for good service, which is my top priority when I have very limited time, they fit the bill.

    Good chica-friendly hotels.

Headed back to Colombia, but this time I'm going to Barranquilla and Santa Marta. I am looking for a 4-5 star hotel that is chica friendly. So I will post this in each section, sorry for the redundancy.

In Barranquilla, I read about the Estellar Alto Prado and Hotel Faranda. Are these places chica friendly? If not, again, are there other options? Thanks to all that are willing to chime in on this topic!

As a side note not a fan of Barranquilla as its a dirty little town not a lot to see and I think hotter than Santa Marta is but just my opinion.

I took this flight with American Airlines before. Nothing really to share Regular flight, like all others.

So, if price is right and time is convenient then why not?

BAQ is a smaller airport, similar to SMR. So there were no long lines. But it does have priority pass lounges.

So all good from the airport perspective.

If you want to save a little on your ride to Santa Marta, from the airport for 20 k you can take an fficial taxi (ot Indriver for 8 k) to bus stop. There are frequent and comfortable buses to Santa Marta and Riohacha. The tickets were 35 k if I am not mistaken. And the departures are every 30 min.

I took the Riohacha bus back and forth (as I stayed in parque Tayrona area) and had a comfortable uneventful ride. The bus ride took about 3 hours.

If you do your timing right you can sometimes get an InDriver from the BAQ airport to SMR for 300 k. I think 45-60 minutes. I've stayed at the Irotama Resort a couple times with favoritas and she arranged for the InDriver rides. Not a bad deal.
