I am somewhat glad I popped my Colombian cherry in Barranquilla rather than Medellin. As you prefaced, it may be hard to accept elsewhere in Colombia once you're used to Medellin. My next trip is Bogota early next year. I'm working my way up to MDE, LOL.

Don't forget CTG. CTG can be the easiest and best place (but also the most expensive above all). MDE is not that easy, if one excludes himself from casas daytime (I am quoting you, sorry), but yet overwhelming as soon as one begins to move around (and speaks good Spanish!

I think your report is fair, although I did have a better time in Barranquilla than you did. If you're excluding yourself from casas then you're ruling out 75% of mongering in that city.

After this necessary specification, I must say that BAQ is really a sad place, or so it looked to me in this short and single sampling experience, what's more on a Wednesday night, not on a weekend.

I had only tonight to explore. I took a taxi and I asked him to take me to see the best in town.

No zona de tolerancia, no strip of bars, nothing alive. Only bars scattered around, that can be visited only taking a taxi to hop around. Imagine I was used to go around the Raudal in MDE, how I felt depressed.

However, these are my impressions. Again: negatively biased by being on a Wednesday and after two weeks in Medellin (OMG! best in the world)
If you think I am wrong, maybe that is the case, but I suggest you try to go to see what is Santa Fe in Bogota or the Raudal in Medellin before saying BAQ bars can be good.

STREET GIRLS
There are a few ones indeed, here and there, but they are ugly and mostly unreliable. Nothing that could make my senses to hitch.

BARS
I tried first Vuernes. Empty and sad. Girls are so-so, but looked like saying "I am expensive because I am the best in town". I chatted a while with a sleazy one. I said I was just coming from Medellin, and her reply was "Oh here in Barranquilla the girls are much hotter and beautiful". Oh yes, sure.
Beers: 7k.
Then I asked a taxi to take me to Siglo XXI. Please note: the first driver mentioned it, but he said it's too dangerous and did not want to take me there. He does not know in what "nidos de perros" I have been before.
Siglo XXI is much better, cheaper and with girls looking much more modest, yet not certainly less beautiful. And it's not dangerous, at least it cannot be after having attended the bars in Santa Fe or in the Centro of Medellin.
But I did not see any girl who could light my fire.
Beer is 3.5k.

That is my very limited experience of BAQ. Nothing I could miss in those two bars I have seen. I don't get excited by the perspective to go with a ultra-pro, who does mechanical sex, CBJ and SOP.
I am sure I missed a lot (the casas?) but tomorrow I go to CTG and I will have a lot more to choose among. Besides that, I will have my apartment and I will be able to bring back also a couple of girls to party hard, if I meet the right ones.

In my experience, 300 k for TLD is a fair price for a good pro girl in BAQ. With the experience you had, it sounds like it was money well spent. Less can be possible, more certainly is also.

Paying just dinner and wine is for non-pro girls, I. E. Those who are going with you not because they need the money, but just for fun. You won't find these working in P4P places.

Reading all this makes me look forward to my return trip some time this winter.

Dude, Cerebro was strictly responding to inquiries about the beaches. No need to get all defensive about Colombia. I know there is a lot of peer pressure on the forum to beat up on Sosua or the DR in general. I don't apologize for my appreciation of the DR.

I'm getting ready to book my hotel and found a few with nice pics, reviews, and prices. Most that I like are in the historical district and though reviews are good they say these hotels are not near the "better beaches".

My question is where are the better beaches?

One of the girls told me about playa Santa Veronica. She showed me some pics on her phone, looks decent enough. Look up the videos (somewhat old) on youtube. Santa Veronica is in between Barranquilla and Cartagena.

Thanks for delivering the great report. I enjoy reading the two parts. Many mongers here only asked questions and promise reports in this thread, but they rarely deliver and others just look for something in the few trip reports that they don't like and then offer an unwelcome critics or complain about it. For a very good GF performer TLN, 4 pops, and cute, 300 k in Barranquilla that is a pretty good deal. At least to me that's a great. After Laura went back to work at Zero Stress (I forgot to add that I paid her 300 K for the 4-pop overnighter) I decided to take the day Sunday to see Cartagena. Took a taxi to the Berlinastour terminal and got on a bus to Cartagena. Paid the driver 18 K. The ride was about one and a half hour, really not much to see as the road is not immediately next to the coastline. I mean the coastline is not visible from the highway most of the route. The Berlinastour terminal is a long way's away from Centro Cartagena, so another taxi ride. I didn't plan to monger at all there, so just walked around and took in the sights. Very nice preservation of Spanish Colonial structures. After a few hours I couldn't stand the heat anymore so I went back to the Berlinastour. Now curiously the ticket counter wouldn't sell me a bus ticket without my ID! It's a freaking bus not a plane WTF. Luckily outside the terminal there were the puerta a la puerta share ride sedan people. 4 passengers each paying 30 K was actually a better deal than the bus, since I'd get dropped off directly at my hotel.

Rested and headed out for some music and drinks at La Troja. This is supposedly a legendary salsa music club. Honestly I was not impressed.

After chilling a while I walked next door to La Hoja. Place was DEAD. There were no girls around at all, one older woman whom I thought was the manager told me they were all occupied. I didn't wait around to see, and I bolted.

Next I walked to Juernes. The place was kind of dead, but at least there were chicas. They were all sitting at the bar just socializing among themselves. From Cerebro's report I knew this was the case so I walked up to the bar and sat. These girls all have on miniskirts with bikini tops. Overall I think their quality was good. Great report Parkinsons. Seems you enjoy your few days and still have a day or two left to have fun. Those girls in Barranquilla are something. I found a similar experience with most being business like in the first encounter, but once they get to know you, the lose up very quickly and they become beasts in bed and truly affectionate.
