Posts: 383Cell: I would try to find an Apartment a bit cheaper but just as nice as most Hotels! HH posted around 40 Hotles on page five of this thread! I posted a Hotel that was on the beach in Puerto de Colombia about 15 minutes by Taxi from BAQ, this place was on the beach and had a little charm to it as well around 80,000. As far as the El Prado over priced and the beds suck!
If you don't speak espanol you can still book on line just use an online translator www.altavista.com

Been reading the agency dos and don'ts for Colombian girls you bring back with you. It said that you should bring her back twice a year for a vacation. I never had 2 vacations in one year in my life. Do Colombians have a lot of vacations or does the agency just think that all gringos are rich and have nothing to do but travel?

If you speak Spanish, I strongly suggest that you book your hotels on the phones. If you speak no Spanish, forget reducing your cost. English is probably spoken less in BAQ than more other major Colombian cities. In additon to the hotels you mentioned, I can recommend a few hotels that do have someone bilingual on staff.
1 - The online sites are generally more expensive and very limited in scope of local hotels. Hotel Majestik, Hotel American Golf, Hotel Royal all have someone on hand who speaks English. Prices run anywhere from approx. $45-$65USD. I usually close at approx. $55USD for 2 people in those hotels, including breakfast for 2 daily. All 3 are well-located in the Prado, Alto Prado area. Guest-friendly and within walking distance to a few things. Do a Google search for the details (Tele #, etc.) for those hotels. I guess you could send an e-mail to the hotels, but I would not expect an answer or a confirmation out of that.
2 - If it's your first time to BAQ, yes. Make a reservation. It would make your life so much simpler. There will be families returning from abroad to visit their family in BAQ.
3 - General Monger trick: book a double room for 2 persons. It won't cost you any additional charges for guests.
Best of luck.

I'm coming to Barranquilla for the first time on 12/28 and have a few questions about hotels.
I'm trying to make reservations online, but it seems like there are only a few hotels with that capability. El Prado is quoting $160 a night. Puerta Del Sol is quoting $95. The Hotel Boulevard doesn't quote prices online, but it allows online reservations and one of the earlier reports said it was about $50 a night.
So here are my questions:
1. Is there a good online service for hotels in the area (if there is, I haven't found it)?
2. Do I need reservations before I come?
3. How much do the hotels go up if you bring a girl to the room?
Thanks for helping a rookie.

You may want to consider Mancora, Peru as it is a well known party spot for New Year's Eve.

Posts: 273El Greco, I believe New Year's Eve sucks for any part of South America as far as our hobby goes - my previous reading says that latin girls usually make the trip back home to spend time with their families...probably the only time when they do.
But I might be wrong though.

Posts: 235Colombian generic "V" worked just fine ;-)
Just to report that the cheap Colombian generic "V" worked just fine.
The beauty that I was suppose to meet bagged out at the last minute since her boyfriend returned to town earlier than expected. I had taken the vitamin before I found out, so being the resourceful guy that I am, I found a substitute for the research project.

ps - I am planning a trip to Colombia in January with my brother who turns 50. I figured Colombia would be 1 vacation that he would remember till he is old and senile. Barranquilla is definitely on the itinerary.

Hey buddy,
It was ALMOST better reading your report than hearing it in person! You have a way with words (in which every language you are speaking).
I will report how the generic "V" works, but I am not expecting to be disappointed since I have used other Colombian generic "V" in the past.
I will be conducting a test with the girl from San Juan del Rio tomorrow in order to provide R&D to this group. She is beautiful with GREAT tits, and even though it may be hard work, I am willing to make the sacrifice for the sake of research and reporting to our brothers of ISG. :-)
Again, nice job...

Hey dudes ... just back from a nice trip to both Barranquilla and Medellin ... I'll definitely post more later ... but ... bottom line for me:
After walking around both cities within hours of eachother ... several quick conclusions.
1. Barranquilla wins for the amount of hot / sexy chicas walking about ... Medellin obviously has hot chicas, just Barranquilla was non-stop.
2. The city of Medellin, of course IMHO, is much much nicer to hang-out in, in general. I know the Hoof Hunter said it had a "plastic" feel ... but really, from el Centro, which in Medellin is actually pretty nice and in Barranquilla it's like a zoo to me.
Medellin has the mountain view, the nice climate, lots more places just to go to ... from Parque Lleras to Sabaneta to la Setenta to Parque Bello, etc.
3. I always thought the people of Medellin were nice, Barranquilla is even better ... great people!
I mentioned the amount of hot chicas in Barranquilla which is true ... but ... I met the best one of all in Medellin ... a really cool, sexy chica, great smile, great personality ... and she's from Bogota, transplanted in Medellin with her family ... imaginate, una Rola (chica de Bogota) wins "chica of the trip" for me.

Glad you enjoyed your time in BAQ. I hope that you return.
I truly enjoy this city moreso than the other major Colombian cities, but then I also have many friends there, so my experience is different than many of us on this site. I've never needed to monger there, so when it's time to break away from the novia, my buddies call up one or more of their college amigovias and have her meet us with a amiga or prima. We drink, dance, and later....LOL!!! Love the place.
Anyways, glad to finally get more detailed mongering reports on BAQ. Thanks for that as well.
