What is your traveling budget for a country like Colombia?

I´ve never checked how much I spend on a trip, so I don´t really know.

Hotels, anywhere between 50.000-160.000. Appartments 400-600 USD.
Food is about 5-9 USD per meal in good restaurants. But cheaper is available.
Taxi´s 1-3 USD per trip.
Girls, free or 30.000-50.000 for 30 min. Girls bore me fast so I always do short time.

I don´t think I will ever get tired of exploring. In fact last year I would fuck a girl in every single place I visit. they robbed my camera in Cali because I was drunk as fuck at night in the middle of nowhere,

Anyway I noticed wherever you go on this planet, there is a lot of exaggeration going on. As long as you have some common sense most serious situations can be avoided.
Sometimes it depends on how you look (young, old, rich, poor, average,...), sometimes it´s the time factor (quick in and out that ghetto place). There are so many factors involved.

And yes there are enough mongers that like to explore just like myself.
For those of you looking for porno sex, there is a lot to be had at the low-end places.

True if I was blonde and blue-eyed and all by myself, I probably would feel less comfortable there. But anyhow we still sticked out as foreigners and some people (the ones drunk as fuck and the ones happy as fuck on coke) laughed at us and said hello. The other men couldn´t care less about us.

Some more info on my stay:
- I stayed at Hotel Monterrery right across Lucitanio and one block from La Hoja for 50,000 a night. Girl friendly.

- I went to Taganga for a scuba diving course and when I got back in Barranquilla I stayed in 5 star hotel Puerta Del Sol for 160,000 a night, breakfast included. They have wi-fi all over the hotel, including the pool area. At the same time the TLC convention was there and there were hot chica´s walking all over in the lobby, pool area, etc... All of them very open to foreigners. I was sitting at the pool working on my laptop and I could basically lign up the chica´s and phone numbers.

5,000 COP for the room, 25,000 COP for the girl 30 min.
A guy sitting in front of me was sniffing coke right there and he gave the 40yo waitress some too. Coke was being sniffed all over the baños and Nacho Vidal´s latin porn series in Colombia was playing on the TV screens.

I have NEVER worn shorts in Cali because I know better. I do wear my sandals despite knowing that many locals look at that as low class. Mea culpa.

Also, I was not "just blowing off steam" when I commented that Ngp was out of line for blaming HH because the company did not want to drop everything to get him from the airport then take him to CTG for 25 KCP. He is correct that people can avoid the company because of his disappointment with their service; just pay a taxista 110KCP like he did if you prefer. Given his ugly American attitude, I would have tried the "gringo upcharge" myself were I working for that company.

I've effectively removed my last 2 postings containing any info on transportation between Barranquilla and Cartagena. I have sent a message to the moderator to remove my past postings on Invertours. I have no conncetion that the company. I'm not a vendor.

The fare from BAQ airport to CTG is COP150.000. There are no alternatives.

HH provided useful information in identifying Invertours as a service provider. Thank you. I provided useful information in why board members may not care to use them. This is only my 35th trip to Colombia over the past 8 years, so I am not an expert on every city yet.

This board is for posting information and advice about finding women for sex. Not for attacking members on their search for happiness, not for calling their real life experiences their own failures.

Thank you guys for all of the 5-6 private messages that confirm my feeling that Surfer was just jumping in to blow off some steam from his hot head; sadly, some of you guys know him and his cheap sandals and shorts walking around Cali better than I. If you don't like the ethics of that company, don't use them. But I, for one, appreciate him supplying that useful information and find your criticism an overreaction. Further, you had no reservation and expected them to just drive out to the airport to get you on a moment's notice then take you to CTG all for 25,000? Talk about unreasonable expectations!

I've taken that road even late at night (though the drivers of nicer cars with ac want 120K at night) and people feel it is the only rural highway in all of Colombia that is safe to travel at night. That being said, when we got a flat tire out in the middle of nowhere it was not that relaxed a wait for the taxista to install the spare. Going the other directions from BAQ, however, is something the taxis with whom I spoke felt was much more risky (and crazy at night).

If you think invertours was so great, read your own post. ¨"probably.... most likely... more than likely..." These are all conjectures and imaginations on your part. You had no first hand experience yesterday like I did. This board is to post reality and help men find sex, not fantasy. With all due respect to your experience in April, Invertours was a bad experience for me and that bad experience should caution others from expecting to be treated fairly with them.

Please note that they pulled the bait and switch on you also by charging you and your reserved friends 35,000 pesos, then reducing to 30,000 when you complained. All this for a trip that is supposed to be 25,000 pesos.
"Offered to split the difference" means they lied to you about the fare being 35,000 pesos and when you pointed out the true fare was 25,000 they ripped you off 5,000 pesos.

P.S. At their centro office I saw the Cart. van already loaded up with 3 people inside, ready to go to Cart. I understand Spanish too.
