The problem isn't with the legality, it's the taxi drivers. They have gotten violent in the past with Uber drivers.

If you want to completely avoid the hassle and you're traveling light, take the green bus (free) from the airport to Portal Dorado, the closest Transmilenio station to the airport, unless you're arriving late. Then you can have Uber meet you there.

Don't forget to sit in the front with Uber and whether you are using taxi or Uber, don't slam the door. Every time they see a gringo they cringe because of the door slamming.

I've never sat in the front in any Uber globally. What is the rationale behind doing that?

Cross all three lanes and go into the parking lot. That is where your Uber will pick you up at. Make sure you pay attention to what the license plate is because if you arrive at night it's really dark and it's hard to see the color of the cars. Also if you're not a Spanish speaker make sure you have Google translate and use that to communicate with the driver through the app. I simply told the driver what colors I was wearing and he found me right away after searching for him for 5 minutes or so. You have to go through all of this because Uber is technically illegal in Colombia.

Thanks for the postings in this forum; although I've not read them all, some of the discussions around COVID protocol's proven super helpful.

I'm headed to live in Bogota until the holidays; I got an apartment in Santa Fe, it has useful broadband, but I'm starting to think the location was a mistake. I guess if it's too bad, I'll move to a different location.

I'm curious about how you all approach the street girls nearby, do the girls only use the hotels? Do you all have experience getting their WhatsApp and inviting them back to your place nearby for more ]extended stays? What's the most you see girls charging on the street in Santa Fe (high-end)?

I just came to Barranquilla airport and I had my US passport in hand. The lady at the door asked me for a boarding pass. I did not have one and showed her my reservation. She said go ahead. So no app was needed.

I got to security and put my things through. They wanted to put one of my bags through again. They told me to open it up. They told me my small bottle of Tabasco sauce was not permitted. I biched about it and said it is the same bottle I brought here 2 days ago. He said at this airport is not allowed. I hate when airports in the same country have different guidelines.

Had the same situation in Santo Domingo one time. They lady said I could put the hot sauce in somebody's eyes. I picked up my pencil and said hell I can put this in somebody's eyes too. She let me keep the hot sauce.

As for my helping out women during the pandemic, what do you think really happened? The same thing that always happens with the hobby. You hit some home runs and doubles and you have strike outs. Of course, when I am saying home runs, even that is downplaying it. About half the women I saw fucked me like their lives depended on it.

The interesting thing to me was how many guys were so desperate to say the home runs were doubles and talk non-stop about the strike outs. On the forum, the woman I named the Queen was called ordinary. On seeking, she was messaged so much that she changed her name to reflect what I had written about her. You are repeating forum or conventional wisdom, but you abandoned convention when you paid for sex, so you have to evaluate if abandoning convention is worth doing again.

I agree that women are after money, but the novios make 5% of what you do. So why would they want to hang out with them? If you can figure out what the novios provide and do it yourself, and I have, then you will be fucking beauty queens bareback too.

This does not mean I won't also hang out in clubs, go to Santa Fe, Clock Tower, El Centro, strip clubs or look at the escort sites, FB. NADA! Women are a horrible addiction. Got to love them. It's not for everyone.

You will find it difficult to meet the type of girls who you can find on SA. Anywhere. A few are there for "mutual benefits" "no strings attached" and can be tempted for $100. Most want more (more than $$ a good time etc.) and it doesn't mean they feel they are "entitled" it means if YOU want to find one that you can only have sex with. You are wasting their time. Another option for meeting beautiful young girls is going to the nightclubs and "gaming" them. The girls I would like are going to be surrounded by guys and difficult to talk to. (noise, friends, etc.) but it is possible, I have friends that travel the world teaching guys how to pick up these girls. They charge thousands. Also you will know nothing about the person till you "open" a conversation. It's mostly about getting laid often. The gaming world works but there are so many guys doing it, IMHO it will get old and backfire, making it more difficult...

Shit brother, I should have wrote you on Sunday before I drove all the way to Atlanta for my fucken Monday flight. I could have just ignored all that crazy shit.

There are 2 different "apps" remember. There is the immigration website where you have to upload the test which is no app at all. This is actually your immigration paperwork as I stated before. They ask for that along with the PCR test at the check in counter on your way to Colombia.

Then there is the CoronApp which is an actual app. With that you state whether you have any covid symptoms or not.

That is excellent advice.

Some guys are immediately comfortable with areas like Santa Fe or El Centro in Medellin. Others take awhile before they can walk the areas comfortably. Some never can get over their fear.

I've talked with several guys, on their first trip to Colombia, who were talked into staying close to the red light district by veterans. Each of them were unhappy with their choice. They didn't even feel safe enough to venture out for meals. Everyone has their own opinion on how safe, or dangerous, Santa Fe (or Medellin, El Centro) is, but that doesn't help someone having a panic attack in a cheap hotel room.

Book a hotel for 2 or 3 nights in a better area, around Parque 93, Chapinero or maybe around Calle 109 (is that Santa Barbara? And take a taxi to Santa Fe. If after spending some time around Santa Fe, you feel comfortable and want to stay, check out some local hotels and find one you like. I've found you can often get a cheaper rate dealing directly with the hotel than you can find on the booking sites. Otherwise, extend your stay at your original hotel.

It took me 3 prior trips to Bogota before I set my first step on Santa Fe, and I was no novice in this game. I even hired a local guide to steer me around the area on that first Santa Fe expedition. Now I went there alone when in Bogota, but only walked around the 3-4 blocks where most of the popular clubs are with extreme caution.

LOL. You must be doing something wrong. The one I made for myself is in pdf format and I had no problem with the app. It was quick and smooth. I did it when I was in the Uber on the way to the airport. And the best part is there is no paperwork to do after that. You just show the ladies your test and they highlight PCR then you show it to the immigration agent along with your passport.

With that attitude it seems you will never come to Colombia again. Things have changed drastically. Before you can even walk into the airport you have to have that covid app filled out. You scan it and show it to the girl with your passport. Then you go to another lady for your sanitizer. You can no longer bring suitcases in the cabin on domestic flights. If it does not fit under your seat then you have to check it in at the check in counter. When I was going through security a minute ago I grabbed one of those things to put my stuff in. That lady about cussed my ass out and made me put it back. She has to put it under the UV light first.

Half of Bogota is still closed, the restaurants' are totally closed or only open on a few days a week. When Filling of the genius app they devised how can they have 250 types of occupation listed, including a listing for a nuclear scientist but not a listing for Retired or sales! I put my occupation as oceanographer, fuck them! I have a paper copy of my swab test, I have one in my medical portal but that's not GOOD ENOUGH for these mental midgets. It's a hippa violation for my Medical office to send me an email so I couldn't load the form onto the the Genius-app So Mr. Enter. You are correct, I don't see me going back to Colombia for the foreseeable future. I've slowed down in the last 30 years of traveling and I don't need to try to fuck every girl in Colombia anymore jajaj I'm happy with my one special woman nowadays. I'll leave you young bucks to do the double and triple bookings LOL those were the days.

Good question. There was a guy in front of me holding up the line. He was like 70 something years old. He did not have a cell phone in his hand but had a bunch of papers, looked to be just his flight info. That lady was trying to explain something to him. He was going nowhere slowly. There were no papers on that podium. Just behind the glass a scanner at the bottom and a cell phone at the top set up like it was going to take people's pictures. Eventually she took me while he was trying to figure out whatever. Better to invest in a wheel than try to roll a boulder up a mountain.

I reported wrong before. They do not scan the app, they just have to see it completed. Because when I walked up I held my phone up to the scanner and the lady said no just give it to me. Then she saw it was completed and said now go over there to get sanitizer on your hands.
