The second part of my Colombian trip took me to Bogota. I did not go to Santa Fe but stuck around Zona T. Went to the house opposite the Italian restaurant mentioned in the forum (someone please remind me the name) and selected a pumped up paisa ended up paying 200 k for the hour (I know I overpaid, but I wanted to try something different). So after being in Bogota last year I finally decided to return this July. What better way to celebrate 4th of July than in Colombia mongering. - If you're coming to Bogota, try to stay at least a week. If you get affected by the altitude, you'll be kinda out of it for the first 2-3 days, so you want at least 4-5 days after that to sightsee. Two weeks is much better even.

-Taxis in Bogota are a bad idea. You're not going to get jacked, but they will almost for sure try and scam you. Use Uber or they also have a local service called Beat.

-The advice to watch you drink is GOOD. The last time someone's drink got spiked wasn't in 1986, it was probably not even 24 hours ago. It happened to one of my friends just a few months back. It's a big problem here but it doesn't have to happen to you. Don't ever walk away from a drink, be careful of anybody on the street with a little piece of paper (they place the powder on the paper and then blow it at your face), and don't let a rando chick motorboat you!

Yes despite the fact that The Tall Man exercises regularly, walks and hikes 30 to 40 miles per week, is fit, usually drinks next to nothing and takes it easy when I visit Bogota I need 4 or 5 days so my body can adjust therefore great advice to go for a few weeks or if possible even 3 weeks as once your body adjusts you can really enjoy the rolla's (girls from Bogota).

Nonsense. Once in three years for me while living there. Just don't look dumb and make sure the meter is running. Not complicated and not dangerous. Relax and enjoy the city. It is a fabulous place.

Spend 5 days or so.

Should be considered one of the Wonders Of World. It's remarkable what these miners created deep in the earth.

There National Museum is beautifully put together, filled with gorgeous artifacts and so user-friendly. I'm going back next week to see the parts I missed.

Dude you can stay in Medellin for a few weeks then make your way to Bogota for a few weeks then fly down to Cali for a week and then up to Cartagena, you would not only get a taste of the Colombian country and culture but your dick will have more pussy than it has had in the past decade.
