Cab fares rarely exceed 20 k cop. To and from El Dorado Airport will cost 30-50 k cop depending on the length of the ride. Before you get into a cab in Bogota make sure the driver has his identification card hung from the front passenger seat of his cab. The card is a 8 x 11" and laminated. At the end of the ride there is a meter (facing backward from the passenger side windshield) that will read what the fare is. Also there has been some labor unrest concerning ride sharing companies in Bogota.

If you're not carrying too much baggage there's a free solution. Take the SITP bus to Portal El Dorado. That's the first Transmilenio station. Have the Uber pick you up there.

When calling Uber from the airport, you will want to wait in the central parking lot that you see when you exit the airport (where all the taxis).
