"Scour" and "search" are two different things. When you "search" you just look for something and you don't bother with other methods. When you "scour" -when it's the internet, you find out that there are other explorers and other search engines and go even in the DEEP WEB.

Look in the "Links to Reports of Distinction" thread. Find the link for Routard's magnum opus on Bogota. You won't have to search or scour, as it's the second post you'll find. Then go to the "Bogota Lists" thread. You will need to search there, or get mom to do it. You won't need to search far. On page 2 World Travel 69 offers a fellow scourer a hint on where to find links to his maps. There are 3 maps, so you're looking for 3 links. I'll even make it easier. Search that thread for "Kansas".

Routard and Woodman09 are 2 of the best sources of information on Bogota. My contributions are few there. I can't give you better recommendations than those two. However, once you find the Bogota maps here's some general information that may help.

Choose your place to stay with a few things in mind. Traffic in Bogota is bad. I choose places convenient to the Transmilenio to avoid traffic and minimize taxi use. I also choose a place within walking distance of my areas of interest. For me, that's between 1 and 2 miles (I walked 25 miles in Bogota one day). My areas of interest usually involve food, so I've always chosen north hotels on quiet streets.

Here's my generic advice. Figure out what you're looking for, streetwalkers, massage parlors, casas or clubs. Figure out your budget. If you don't mind spending $100 or more for each session, hit the north clubs. If you would rather spend a lot less, hit the Santa Fe clubs or streetwalkers. If your budget is somewhere in between, choose Chapinero.

Now go forth and scour!

I'm also doing a bit of research in preparation for a trip to Bogota, and I swear there has been mention of at least two different neighborhoods outside of Santa Fe on the last several pages. I read a post by Routard where he discussed in great detail, a fourth red light district, as well. Others have been chiming in on where they like to go. Why aren't you getting that? Are you reading a different ISG than I am getting?

Indeed you must have been "scouring" the forum instead of reading it. Mongering is just like everything else in life in one universal aspect: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

After going to a few places Punting George mentioned on the Bogota FAQ board, my lady friend and I went on a coffee tasting tour. We ended up at Amo Perfecto, Azahar and Cafe Cultor. I'm not a coffee snob but wanted to get a feel for the coffee in Colombia. I was actually able to enjoy it with milk, cream or sugar. Medellíand Is less spread out than Bogota so the prices are more. But taxis are more abundant and you wouldn't have to wait for an Uber. But I prefer Uber even with it's caveats.

Now that we've discussed the important topic of the quality of the women, I have a question about getting around. Earlier someone was grousing about the poor service with Uber in Bogota. But as far as Bogota goes, is there much of a cost savings using Uber over a regular cab? I was in Medellin two years ago, and the cost of cabs was really cheap. Of course, the exchange rate was a bit better then, an Medellin appears to be smaller as well. Not to mention I took the Metro (El train) most of the time because it was faster than the traffic most of the time, and left no questions as to what it cost (virtually nada) and where you were going.

I'm really not sure about exit fees- but I'd say $60-$80 mil- I think you could probably negotiate a long time for $300-$600 or more. It depends on your hooker game. 'Hooker Game' LOL.
