I just returned from my second trip to Bogota 7 days. My first trip was 2 months ago I didn't report because I had nothing good to report. I liked the clean, safe city but I just couldn't get used to the altitude. I liked the city so much on my first trip I tried to get in better physical shape and try it again. I'm in my early 70's I guess this has a lot to do with it but up and including my last day I was miserable.

I have a regular VISA debit card and I have always been charged a fee to make a withdrawal but this time a bank called WWMV charged nothing. First time ever. I stayed at the IBIS museum hotel across street from a BBMV ATM worked out good. I would recommend the IBIS. Its clean, cheap, 47 us a night. They say girl friendly. I don't know I didn't try. Decent smorgasbord bfast 7 us. 5 cop taxi to Santa Fee.

I made 4 trips to Santa Fe and really this is my kind of place. As long as you keep your wits and don't do anything stupid you will be OK. Only incident I had was with a crazy drunk looking for a handout. I walked away and he followed, now he was rising his voice so I walked into a small place only had 2 tables and a cooler with beer. I got a beer and sat down and here comes the crazy guy. He walked toward me talking in Spanish, he seems to be pissed because I didn't give him some change. The barmaid stands between him and me so now hes screaming at her. Bad idea. She can't be over 5 feet tall but she pushes him with both open hands several times now hes out the door. The rest is complicated but a elderly fella on the sidewalk taking all this in puts his big paw on the back of the crazy guys neck and off they go never to be seen again. I am so disappointed that I have a hard time breathing I would love to spend a lot of time here.

Rough notes from my last trip to Bogota, mainly stayed in the SF area.

- Data prices at a small sidewalk shop for TIGO: 39 k for 30 days, 2 GB of data, no minutes. 20 k for 15 days, 2 GB data, no minutes. SIM card is sold separately for 3 k. Needed to register my phone using the TIGO app afterwards to avoid getting blocked (I had to go to an official store since I didn't know how to use the TIGO app). Added 6 k for some text messages and minutes afterwards. Ignore the touts at the airport selling SIM cards. They overcharge you.

- 30 k official taxi to my Santa Fe Airbnb at the first floor of the airport.

- Rappi (food and groceries) and UberEats apps are very useful, especially if you have few restaurants nearby.

- Chapinero clubs like El Padrino and Olimpio etc. Offered no value to non-Spanish speakers, despite their 3 x-4 x prices. Went in at Friday 9 pm and most clubs had 0 customers.

- Tantra Spa was so-so. Girl selection was OK, but the girl I picked didn't give a massage, which was the real reason why I went there. She went straight to sex.

- Abadubai Spa in Chapinero. At 8 pm Saturday I was presented with 2 girls. One of them was pretty, maybe 7. 5/10. The two girls that were there were better than most of the girls at Tantra Spa. She had a good attitude and spoke some English. I only wanted a massage at the time and was charged 130 k, which included CBJ. The massage was legit and the girl was nice. The girl wanted 300 k / HR to come to my apartment and everything covered. Not worth it if you're comfortable with SF, but definitely I can see the appeal: bigger rooms, and overall safer area. The girl is a paisa. My observation: I haven't met working girl Bogotanas in Medellin but I met working girl paisas in Bogota. I'm guessing overall Medellin is poorer.

- I overheard an SF street girl negotiating prices with a local guy, and he was quoted 30 k. I'm guessing it's for like 20 min or something. Anyways I'm never interested in those super short time sessions. I get quoted 35-50 k without asking when I walk by these girls.

- Troya was close to capacity and very lively at Friday 10 pm-ish. 10 minute private dance with a big natural tit girl for 20 k. Pussy and tit licking allowed. I gave her 20 k while she was dancing but she tried to charge me another 20 k after the dance. I said no several times and she went away. I think you're supposed to pay her after the dance and not during, and while there are witnesses. Otherwise she can tell the waiters that you didn't pay. - Atonis is a great club. Woodman's favorite I think and deservedly so. You get more attention as a group. The girls on stage would come by and smash your face into their tits / pussy if you're in a group (for tips of course). I was solo but still enjoyed the lesbo show.

- Based off of only a few samples from this trip and the last, the Colombianas who work at Santa Fe appear to be from the lower class, whereas the Venezuelans can come from both low and middle class backgrounds and are often more educated. The more educated girls make for better conversations and are more patient with Google Translate. However, I'd say the two hottest girls I've had in SF were lower-class Colombianas.

- SF Vennies over SF Colombianas any day of the week for quality of service. The Colombianas don't like the Vennies since they undercut them on price and out-perform them on services provided. One Bogotana told me this explicitly, "they charge so little money". Other observations: my Medellin FB girls frequently post negative memes about "Venecas", another Bogotana tells me Vennies have diseases Actually the only girl who I suspected of carrying a disease is one Bogotana, who had fishy smelling pussy. Honestly I don't mind paying a little more, but on average, the Colombianas' attitudes, while not terrible, just don't get to the GFE level that Vennies do.

- If you stay nearby Santa Fe, it's easier to get the Vennies to come back to your place for repeat sessions since they all stay in the short term hotels there. My Vennie repeats can all come to my place in under 10 minutes by taxi. Meanwhile the SF Colombianas live somewhere else, often in some neighborhood that's far off from the city center and takes them an hour, two hours to arrive at one of the central districts like Santa Fe or Chapinero.

- SF Vennies always need money, so they're always happy to see you. Colombianas only need money sometimes, so on certain days they go radio silent and you can't reach them.

- Nearly all the Vennies hate the Bogota weather, but they're choosing to not work in Medellin for some reason. I asked a girl why and she says there are more normal jobs here which anchor the rest of their family (brothers, father, mother, etc).

- Sessioned with a Vennie who looks 90% like Paola Acosta. Paola is / was a well known FB girl in Medellin, thinks she's high end, and charges as such. Now she appears to be working in Thailand. Anyways, I tried to get Paola without success when I was in MDE, so the Vennie, who was about 1/3 of the price, made my day.

I initially thought there's some funny business going on, like she's sharing some of the taxi fare with the driver she knew, but the taxi fare estimator online did say it's about 100 k for a 20 km taxi, which is the distance from Soacha to SF.

- There are these little street girl cliques that stake out their own territories. Sometimes they're just friends or sometimes they're all from the same city in Venezuela. Like I know of a Bogotana clique and a Valencia clique. They all know each other and share information. Like they'd tell me, "you took my friend the other day".

- Colombian cops seem to go by pairs all the time, unlike in the US. Even on a motorcycle, it's always two cops each. Probably for their own safety.

- I can't seem to find fully-sugar-sweetened 1. 5 L soda bottles anymore. All the 1. 5 L-3 L bottle of Coke, Pepsi etc are all partially sucralose, which I can taste and don't like. 100% sugar-sweetened sodas only go up to 600 ML.

- Saw a fight between 2 groups of Colombian guys outside of Fiebre. Guys throwing stuff at each other, not caring about whether they're hitting bystanders.

- Saw 50-75 riot police face off against a similar number of rioters on Avenida NQS while I was in a taxi. Police were using water cannons against the rioters.

Why SF isn't for everyone.

- Don't leave anything in your pants pockets. A few tricks that girls have used during this trip to rummage through my pants. A) I left my pants on the ground to quickly wash my dick before my session starts. I can see the pants through a mirror. The girl knew this and so she used a blanket to pretend to cover herself, but in reality she was blocking the mirror's view of her hand going through my pants pockets on the ground. He followed me even when I got to where there were a lot of people. I was moving fast enough that it wasn't extremely dangerous but it teaches you to be wary. I think if I threw a 10 mil bill on the ground, he'd probably chase that. I didn't bring out anything except taxi money that day anyway.

- Not bringing out your phone does have its downsides, like not being able to negotiate clearly with the girl if she has questions about your offer. So later I did take the risk and started bringing it out.

- I went up to a girl's hotel room in SF and I saw she had a large knife in one of the drawers. So in other words, don't be an idiot when you're with the girl Another girl also told me she had a knife in her room, so it's a common thing I guess.

Thanks for the cabify tip, don't quite understand if you will be picked up by a cab or private car yet but will try it out next Saturday. Am in town to stop off in Santa Fe, to look up a friend and hopefully catch a bullfight before heading back Wednesday. Really want to obtain a membership, seems hard to obtain bitcoin in Canada. Plan to have a chica come by the Ibis for a few hours. Last time she had a passport and it was remarkably easy to register her at no extra cost.

Works out much better than Uber did, having to search all around the parking lot for your driver. I am off to Barranquilla for some non-pro action now.

As a side note: I got a new toy. A water tester. I was surprised to see that the water running through the pipes at Hotel San Francisco (20) is much cleaner than bottled water (80). It is all safe to drink until you get around the 500 mark.

I just spent 40 minutes, digging through the wrong thread, trying to find my post about the various costs of getting pesos. The bank I use offered to sell me pesos at a cost of 16%. It's better than the airport casa de cambio, but worse than any other option. Even sending money to yourself via Western Union is cheaper.

However, Bank of America gives an excellent rate to their customers. Maybe because they've been caught twice, in the past 10 years involved in a major foreign currency manipulation scheme.

My soon to be former bank, Fifth Third, always hit me for about 6% on foreign ATM withdrawals. My new account charges a flat 1% and will reimburse foreign ATM fees.

One issue that most aren't aware of, involves the max amount an ATM will dispense. It's not universal. For example, I went to a Davivienda ATM with another monger. The max he could withdraw was 400 k. The max I could withdraw was 2 million.

I use M+T bank. I filled out a form, and as long as I ordered over $150, the transaction was free. Whatever the market value shows at the time I place the order, is what I'll get in pesos. You have to have an account at the bank, but it's worth it. Yes, Bank of America does give an excellent rate as well.

I'm back after too long. Landed last night in the middle of the night, so wasn't ready until 3:30 am, which is too late for the clubs. I know someone who did the same test but with a lab, and he confirmed me the same. Tap water was the best quality, then Manatian, the other water brands came out bad. However, they often use water reservoirs on the top of the buildings as in the past Bogota suffered from water shortage. Some of these reservoirs are really dirty. Bottom line: it might be different from one hotel to another.

All I have to do is fill out a form, and the cash is taken out of my account and traded for whatever currency I want. The exchange is free for any amount over $150, and there is no loss on the exchange rate, it exactly matches XE.

Here's a trick. Go to the Colpatria / Davivienda machine directly across from the Migracion office. You can't miss it. You will not be charged an ATM fee and you can take out 2,700,000 pesos. Do NOT go to the Colpatria ATM on the far end of the airport---as if were just arriving at the airport. You will pay to use that machine. This is on the departure level. Using this machine you would NEVER use a casa de cambio.
