Sorry for the late reply. Looking to head to Bogota now. The bello girl didn't pan out. Oh well.

Went back 2 x to "try" to form a relationship with her. Every time out, she basically wanted me to take her and her cherished son places that they could never afford. Didn't pan out. But she's pure gold to the guy that captures her heart. Off to Bogota and not looking for love. Just want to have a good time now. I'm a hopeless romantic unfortunately.

These girls can be a lot of fun, but there's almost zero chance of the average guy to develop any sort of normal relationship with them. You're starting in 2 different worlds.

For the girls it's easier. They just need to find someone who is willing to spend the money to match her expectations of the typical gringo lifestyle. That's where the guys problems begin.

Their idea of our lifestyle comes from music videos and interactions with gringo mongers. They see guys who can afford to spend 2-4 months of Colombian salary, just to fly to Medellin. Then they spend money to have a place with hot water, air conditioning and a jacuzzi. They eat in restaurants that charge 4 times as much as the restaurants where the girls live and it's the same food! And to top it off, the guys don't bat an eye paying 100,200, even 300 k just to spend a little bit of time with the girls. And those are just the typical gringos. What about the guys who are spending $500-$1000 USD per day to take girls on vacations outside Colombia?

But most of us guys can't spend like we do on vacation all the time. The girls don't understand that. If you start out taking them to the best restaurants in Medellin or Bogota, they'll expect that in Miami, New York, London.

To further complicate things, most guys looking for a Colombian girlfriend or wife are expecting a bargain. Their middle class home is much better than where the girl came from, so she should be happy to cook and clean and fuck while living on a budget. Right?

This is just a reminder for the guys thinking they'll spend a few days in Colombia and end up with the love of their life. You're setting yourself up for an expensive lesson.

If you're really trying to find a long term relationship, you need to put in the time and establish a more realistic foundation. Take 6 months to a year off. Go there. Take some Spanish classes if you need. Live simply and cheaply. Keep your dates low key. Take girls to the better budget restaurants. Take them on the metro or buses instead of taxi and Uber. Don't buy their affection, earn it.

You will probably still fail to find what you're looking for, but it'll be a much cheaper lesson. Of course, if you're looking for a girlfriend or wife 20-30 years younger than you, it's going to be hard without buying her.

I'm blondish with green, wanting Spanish (learning) and 2 meters tall, in centro just use common sense, don't disrespect anyone even the druggies or tranies, walk with a purpose and you would be surprised what you will find given some patience and time.

Question. What do you mean that you "went back to Bello 2 x"? Many girls are from Bello, I have personally know some real cuties over the past 3 or 4 years and some I still see and play with from time to time. Elaborate on your statement.

I went to Bogota alone a few months ago, and planning on going again soon. You should be pretty safe in the block immediately around the main clubs, where Paisas, Venus, etc are. Don't go past that, and don't go lower than Piscina's street. You'll have a metric ton of putas to choose from in terms of street girls, and the clubs have girls in them as well. There are more street girls immediately west, a few streets down, but I didn't feel as safe as there were more locals walking around and the area had more little restaurants, so there were just more people "hanging out" than the club area. I felt uneasy there, and didn't walk through them without a friend with me.

As for a cab in SF, there are cabs that park in front of Paisas (taxis con confianza), those are more trustworthy cabs. You may pay a little more, as they charged me anywhere as much as 3,000 - 8,000 more pesos than a regular cab, but in terms of getting into a safe cab at 2 am In the morning. There's nothing better, no worries about getting robbed and such.

My first few days there were pretty nerve-wracking, but I got the hang of it in the last two or three days, and I'm super ready to go back now. Probably the best week I'd spent in a long time.

Great info and I used it my first time in Bogota, I still have not been to Santa Fe but I travel solo and the daytime Chapinero action was good for me. Maybe this next trip in Sept I will venture down there, I do like me a pretty vene.
