When I interact with people from other countries (even other English speaking ones), I take care to phrase things maybe a bit differently to avoid unexpected results. For example in this situation with messaging the hosts, here is my script that I have used to avoid all issues with these questions. Even if all the things are not true, I word things in a specific way for my own reasons.

Hello! I am super excited about your airbnb. I am traveling for work and I am exploring different parts of Bogota to consider a longer term rental. I had a few questions. To help me make my booking decision.

1) is xyz available in the kitchen? I like to cook and wanted to know.

2) what type of work chair and power is available at the desk? I can't really understand from the pictures, and I typically work from the Airbnb 2 days per week.

3) What are the rules about guests? I have work friends in Bogota that sometimes will come over for a meeting or I will make dinner for after work. I also have a few friends that will travel from outside Bogota to stay over during the weekend and want to understand any policies..

Then after I messaged about 4 different ladies, WhatsApp blocked me for "spam". I panic'd but managed to get a second phone number on my tablet and go ahold of someone. We scheduled a meeting for later this night and everything was set. I messaged at the appointed time to get the address. And WhatsApp blocked me. AGAIN.

I'm at a loss here. How can I get ahold of any ladies without WhatsApp?!.

I had the exact same requirements at my airbnb (Urban bldg behind Exito, San Martin mall). The host explained it was a "recent rule" implemented to "protect visitors" to the country. Apparently, this is due to foreigners getting killed in airbnbs, not hotels where they have this requirement in place. I, obviously, can't comment on the legality or truthfulness but the girl I was with seemed to agree / she understood and provided her ID to me to send to the host. Another girl from shitty Tinder absolutely refused. She would only agree to security writing down her info, no copies or photos. Don't know. She seemed so adamant, even arguing its illegal blah blah blah. Actually made me feel a little uncomfortable. Needless to say, she wasnt allowed to go in and I uber'd her back home (funny, she would give street intersections for uber to drop her off, not an actual address. Interesting!

Jack Taggart had posted a really good script to follow when messaging airbnb hosts to make sure you find a girl friendly airbnb. It was posted here in this same thread like 2 months ago. I used it when I went to Pereira in March and I it worked like a charm. I ended up bringing like 8 different girls up into my apartment while I was there.

You should have complained to airbnb. I complained to my airbnb host and he refunded for the days I had left on my reservation. I did however ask beforehand if visitors were permitted and my host confirmed that they were. I argued that having to write to him for each visitor is not the common understanding of "permitted" and I should have been informed of this procedure beforehand.

My AirBnb host says I have to tell the visitor name and ID before which visits.

So my plan A is just ask the SA girls to go with it and if she is willing and tell the host the info.

Plan be is to find a hourly hotel that is near me.

Lesson learnt:

I need to read all the rules carefully.

And only choose those I can get a full refund the last minute.

If I can get a full refund, I would have canceled this host.

Don't stay in these kinds of places and complain to the owners. I wrote a post about this before. If its truly for the protection of foreigners, the exact same thing can be accomplished by just providing ID at reception of the building. It makes more sense and its easier for everyone. And most buildings already do it that way. The only logical reason why I can see for this policy is that they are trying to cut down on sex tourism. Don't stay at these places. How are you going to go out at night and bring someone home when you have to message the host on airbnb at 2 am in the morning and wait for them to reply. Maybe you'll get to bring her up to your place when your host wakes up at 8 am.

Just go buy a new Tigo or Claro sim card for like 4 mil and put a cheap prepaid plan on it for 6 mil and slap that into your phone and uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp and use the new phone number to register for WhatsApp. Problem solved.

Only a slightly different note, I met this chic on photoprepagos with a 200 k / HR rate. Set up a time and agreed to meet. She works out of a building on Calle 100 called Tower something but its a really nice high rise. We do our thing and some 15 minutes left. She asked about my background / places where I have been etc. Small chat followed and she's happy to tell me she will leaving Colombia soon to go to Europe for a year. I was like niiiice. A little more details revealed she got an offer to work "legit as a sex worker" in Europe where's she's promised up to 3,000 euros / wk normal 40 hours. What's more is the guy is who is helping will send a ticket + hotel for first few days. She said she already got two friends who left 3 months ago. I am like ok. Interesting. So finally, I asked where she's going. She actually showed me the all the Whatsapp chats she has going w / the guy. Quickly see he's sending her a ticket to travel to Romania. Same guy who "helped" her friends. I just basically told it would be a big mistake IMHO and she probably won't see her 9 yr old son again, prob for many years, if ever. Any thoughts on this. Interestingly, we end up spending over 2 hrs chatting about this stuff, she didn't even want me to leave but I had another appt. She said I don't need to pay her for my session bec she felt like I helped her / gave her extra 50 k and bounced.

Many of the hot girls on SA meet euros in Colombia and then the dude pays for them to go on vacation with them to Paris or Spain and usually works out ok but Romania? Years ago I met a Romanian chick in of all places the Del Rey in CR. Very hot, big naturals. She was a licensed pharmacist we met a few times over the next year or two and in conversation she told me how difficult it was for her to make any amount of money. Either in her job or hooking. The Romanians treat the girls like shit and pay them pennies for sex. She said CR was much better even at 20,000 Colones then anything she could make in Romania. So why would any legit service pay that kind of money to a Colombiana just to get her to Romania and pay her 10 times what the typical Romanian chic could get. I think you gave her good advice and that would be the last time she would ever see her kid.

You were correct in what you told her. Just a sex trafficking / slavery ring. Going to a foreign land where you do not even speak the language. They always get them with greed. 3000 euro per week? Maybe for them, but not for her. In Philippines they try to protect women from this. Immigration checks the shit out of women if they are at the airport trying to leave the country alone. Thailand also does it on those Bahrain flights.

Not sure the wisdom of this BS instituted by Petro probably the only President worst than Joe Pa. Just came back from my 3rd trip to Colombia since January and the people are pissed. The ones being hurt the most are the people NOT living in hotels with tanks. The majority live in the poorer sections and are scrambling for whatever buckets are still available. With all the rainfall that happens in Bogota not sure how there can be a shortage unless all the public officials in past did nothing to improve the reservoir system to be able to retain more potable water. These type of measures don't work anyway, all it does is force people to fill up buckets of water for days before their day of shut off, causing water use to increase the days prior. I have spoken to taxi guys, our neighbors and working people in general and everyone to the person that I spoke too want Petro gone already, say he will NEVER stay in office for 6 years, some are already talking of his assassination. Colombia is beginning to remind me more and more of Venezuela.

My take on the women in Bogota. I wrote about the trend of women asking for crazy amounts of money. Three years ago I wrote about girls I have been friendly with for years suddenly asking for crazy money. At the time I thought it might be some Medellin guys venturing over to Bogota and paying gringo prices but its more wide spread now than every. I don't get to play as often as I did in the past but when I do, I'm shocked that they would ask for these amounts. I can't speak of the Santa Fe prices because I haven't played there in years. But the models, Dentists, physiologists, flight attendants, single mommies, etc. That I have known for years are all asking for more and more help. Maybe it's the Bidennomics and inflation leaking down to the Colombian women's mindset because they are not asking for a little extra help they are going from 200,000 to 600,000 and higher with the Pesos sinking lower and lower recently it's a double whammy. Now all the geniuses, who know it all in their 2 years of experience with their 2 trips a year can chime in. BTW I'm not saying all my playmates from years back are asking for substantially more but an ever increasing number of them are.

My first trip to Bogota 7 years ago and my last trip in September. Huge difference. Girls told me a lot of Mexicans come in. One from lidos and another from a massage casa. Also Mexicans are big on using seeking as well.

I met her last in Dec 2022 when she was charging 280 k an hour.

Now, she wants 600 k an hour plus extras.

I'll be here a month more but I think this is my last trip for a while.

This seems the new normal. A lot of these girls are watching other girls in CTG / Medellin's Instagram stories and see they getting $ and figured why not them. These price surges are only for gringos. You can avoid them alrogether by going prepagos and avoid shitty tinder girls. Yup, prepagos is what it is but some gems to be found.
