Hey everyone!

Newbie here but I've been lurking the forum for a while. I'm traveling to Bogota this summer with a large group, but this group would not be into the kind of fun I want to experience let's just say. From reading here, it's not recommended you go alone anywhere. Any tips on me to escape for an hour or two somewhere where I can go alone and be (relatively) safe? Daytime or nighttime options. So my trip is only 9 days from now, will be in Bogota for an entire week. Anyone have tips on what to wear? I don't want to over dress for the strip clubs or stand out too much. Also, is it cold within the clubs as well? I see the temperatures in Bogota are generally pretty low 50's, so I was thinking a light jacket or sweater would be okay to wear.

I'm super excited honestly. Probably going to put on 20 lbs from the food alone. I also got Tinder Gold to see if I can meet any non / semi-pros before I go.

How does it work on photoprepagos? If you pay for one hour, how many shoots can you do? For example, in some countries you can pay for one hour, but you can do only one shoot. If you are done in 5 min, your session is over. What's about Bogota?

And how to ask " how many shots can I do?" on Spanish?

Semana Santa, worst week IMO to visit Colombia for mongering.

There will be some out and about most likely, but not the best for planning fun.

Especially Thursday and Friday.

You should definitely try to schedule any trip to any central or south american city away from Easter week.

Besides the lack of talent available, the ones that are around are the ones you want to avoid. The only reason they are there is because they have no family to go home to. If their own family don't want them around, why would you.

My opinion. I would stay away from Bancolombia machines just because of the problems dealing with the bank regarding any withdrawal malfunctions. I would try and stick with a bank like Davivienda and use the machines at the office location, not a stand alone. Maybe a pain but worth a thought.

I've had hundreds of requests from people to access my security tapes over the years and never given one.

Firstly, it's illegal to show tapes to people.

Secondly, their problem isn't my problem, I answer to the authorities and my bosses.

If the guy manages to get the cops to try and get it from me, then I'll see what I can do to be 'helpful' for the cops, because they are the only ones legally entitled. And that would only happen if it suits us and there is no liability on us.

Problem is, by the time that happens, if the guy has made the effort to bother the cops and they could give a fuck and actually turn up to ask for the tapes, by then 'sorry they're wiped every seven days' would of loved to have helped'.

If I decide to make the footage available, I show the cops how to use the machine and they can waste two days scrolling through minute by minute. I don't get paid to do that and frankly they don't care to either, unless it's for a murder, and then they'll make an effort.

That is how it works the world over my friend, your expectations are unrealistic.

Not in Colombia. I have a company, the building is monitored by cameras and it was very helpful a couple of times for me as well as far others. There are private cameras but there is also a network of outdoor cameras runned by the city. Any citizen can ask copy of it.

OK as I have said that my friend got drugged and robbed in el Primer de Mayo. There needs to be a correction. The club that drugged, robbed and beat him is actually called Pasarela which is on the first floor of the building that is called Coliseo Romano. The club Coliseo Romano is located on the 2nd floor of that building. We have been appointed an investigator from the Fiscalia who we talked to last Monday so she can get the camera footage. She was very busy on that day and have not heard from her ever since. I would say stay away from primer de mayo period. But if you insist, just stay away from that corner and avoid the clubs Fiebre, Pasarela, Coliseo Romano and Castle Blue.

Update on Charles Schwab $100 withdrawal: Now about 2 months ago I used my Charles Schwab card to withdrawal $100 from a Bancolombia ATM on a Saturday. The machine said that it's having technical difficulties and didn't give me any money. The bank did however, charge my bank account and didn't reimburse me 2 minutes later like it usually does. I filed a claim with Charles Schwab and they reimbursed me 1 week later. Now 5 days ago Charles Schwab took back the $100 it credited me 2 months because they say that Bancolombia gave them a receipt (as evidence) that the ATM machine did give me the money. What? I talked to Charles Scwhab saying that there is video footage of the cameras of the ATM machine not giving me the money. The representative said "I believe you but that's how the bank works". My friend got robbed by a club and I got robbed by a bank. We could both prove it with the cameras in these institutions but somehow these institutions won't let us access it.

I would let the ATM thing go, it was a hundred dollars, you've already talked to your bank. Anything further effort and stress isn't worth the money, time and stress in my opinion. Chalk it up as a loss and continue to enjoy the country.
