Once, 12 years ago, Davivienda actually gave me a FAKE 20 k peso note. I was so pissed off I stormed into the bank swearing at them and announcing loudly to everybody that the ATM just gave me a false note.

I see the temperatures in Bogota are generally pretty low 50's, so I was thinking a light jacket or sweater would be okay to wear..

I just wear a t-shirt and a light long sleeve shirt on top that I sometimes take off in the clubs. They can get hot inside. A light jacket would be fine also, especially when it rains.

You will be safe anywhere. Even Santa Fe is not dangerous, day or night.

Just go to whichever part of town is closest and easiest with traffic considerations.

I'd recommend Santa Fe, the talent there is exceptional and such a simple process, particularly the street sweeties.

Not in Colombia. I have a company, the building is monitored by cameras and it was very helpful a couple of times for me as well as far others. There are private cameras but there is also a network of outdoor cameras runned by the city. Any citizen can ask copy of it.

Yes, there are processes to get footage from Gvt / Council by following the privacy policy legal requirements.

You can sometimes get private footage also, but by default, it's 'illegal', should they wish to follow best practice privacy policy to protect their business, in line with insurance requirements etc.

The overall point was valid; the chap was never getting the footage, nor were the cops, and he seemed surprised, but that is the general position.

Semana Santa, worst week IMO to visit Colombia for mongering.

There will be some out and about most likely, but not the best for planning fun.

Especially Thursday and Friday.

You should definitely try to schedule any trip to any central or south american city away from Easter week.
