I see you mentioned the airport for a covid test. I am coming from San Andres and I don't know if there is a testing sight on the island. If there is not then I would need a test at the airport as I have a 3 hour layover which would make it tough to leave the airport for a test in town.

If there is a test spot on the Island then no problem.

I took the COVID test at Bogota airport about 2 weeks ago at the SYNLAB building. It was easy and convenient. I didn't even have an appointment. Results were emailed to me in 2 hours. They take card or cash.

I do not know anywhere in the world that proof of vaccination means anything. That is just a souvenir for you to keep. You get no special privileges.

You can now enter Greece if you are fully vaccinated in lieu of the COVID test. That seems to be some kind of privilege especially if your COVID Vaccination was free.

Why wasn't your PCR test accepted? They only look for 4 things: name, date, PCR, negative.

Had a form where you could check off the applicable box, Antigen, PCR ect. I never looked that close and it was my fault I didn't catch it in time, when I was fully aware I needed a PCR. I've been through the process enough times during the pandemic, 4 to Colombia so I should know better.

Correct. Families and couples. Do not go alone. Great place and not as expensive as I thought it would be. You will think it is more Jamaica and not Colombia. If it was not for the license plates on the cars, you would not know it is Colombia. Pretty much everybody is Black speaks English.

What is required (from a COVID perspective) to come in and out of Colombia? A COVID test before you leave (app, piece of paper etc) and another COVID test (app, piece of paper) someplace in Bogota in order to return?

Showdown.

Come in: 1. Negative PCR test. 2. Immigration document.

Go out: 1. Immigration document + whatever else is required for the country you are going to.

Only sent me an antigen test and I know I needed a PCR but I was careless and didn't look it over close enough before I got to the airport and in the last minute I was trying to reach someone who could help me in the lab here in the USA and she useless. So I boarded the flight knowing I would need to self quarantine in Colombia until I got the test. It all worked out ok. When I got back the owner of the lab here in South Carolina was very apologetic. In fact he gave me Carte Blanche in his optical store next to his pharmacy, eye exam, lenses, frames and a free PCR test in 2 weeks before I leave again for Bogota.

That's a common mistake. The last time I was in Columbia I met several people at the airport that made that mistake. On one occasion a man took the antigen test however Columbia wouldn't except it so he had to quarantine. He decided after five days he did not want to continue the quarantine. He went to take an antigen test to go back to the US. However, because he was still under quarantine; he had to produce a negative PCR test to leave Cartagena or Finish out his quarantine.

He missed his flight Because he could not get the PCR Within the time of his flight departure.

My PCR test I got in the states was not accepted in Bogota so I got a pcr test here in Bogota and I was able to avoid self quarantine .

Why wasn't your PCR test accepted? Do you have any advice for those of us who will be taking a PCR test in the USA for a trip to Colombia?
