Glad you're having fun! I just returned to Canada on August 26th. If you can do without a Colombian cell number, I recommend GigSky for data. You don't have access to your Canadian number while you are gone, but it is fairly inexpensive for 5 GB. I just tell my Canadian friends to call me on WhatsApp, Skype or Facebook messenger if they need to talk. Otherwise email me.

But AFTER you pass security you can buy water inside, the near the gate and bring it onto the plan with no problem EXCEPT Bogota, it's not just Jetblue but Delta too, see my post below. Save your money and don't buy drinks to take on the plane with you in El Dorado, They have been doing it for my last half dozen trips this year.

Although a small problem but one that is one of my favorite pet peeves is that you can buy a drink after you pass security and buy your drink directly across from gate 34 they still take your drink away from you in the jet way before you board. It only happens in Colombia to my knowledge.

Philippines as well and used to be Thailand when US carriers were going there. Cancun does it too. They would not even let me take a 3 oz bottle of liquid.

Anyway I'm not going to stress about that anymore because I've finally booked my trip and I'm excited. Staying in Santa Fe for 5 nights starting October 12th then going up to Chapinero.
