Its my second time to Colombia and my friend and I had so much fun we decided to come back. Started in Medellin for 4 days and will do a second report.

We landed in Bogota yesterday. Went out to dinner with Wingman09. He is a great person and very helpful went to Santa Fe and for a Monday we saw a lot of.

Talent! Clubs were not bad and My friend and I got girls for 70 K and the girls were fun and wanted our numbers. We will be here through Thursday! Lots of well.

December to March is also the high tourist season in Colombia. This may be a contributing factor.

With gringo mongers avoiding Asia and the decline in Sosua and Rio, the influx into Colombia has only just begun.

One thing I need to clarify is that all these girls I met them in clubs, not on streets.

I should also clarify that I'm talking about the street girls. I didn't take any girl from the clubs. I would expect to see more middle-class girls overall, both Vennies and Colombianas, working in the clubs where it's more comfortable and more out-of-sight.

Was an average Sunday night Decent action. Saturday night was as usual off the hook.

Based off of only a few samples from this trip and the last, the Colombianas who work at Santa Fe appear to be from the lower class, whereas the Venezuelans can come from both low and middle class backgrounds and are often more educated. The more educated girls make for better conversations and are more patient with Google Translate. However, I'd say the two hottest girls I've had in SF were lower-class Colombianas.

In my many trips to Santa Fe in the last 2 years, I have met a few well educated Colombianas and Venezolanas from very normal middle class families and were forced to be in the business for obvious financial reason. There were 2 particular Colombianas whom I still keep in contact with from time to time, are finishing their study to be professionals, one civil engineer, one graphic designer, and they don't worked there full time. One thing I need to clarify is that all these girls I met them in clubs, not on streets.

My Charles Schwab card got mangled in an ATM and I didn't want to use my credit union card due to the outrageous fees. There is a service called Remitely.com that you can send yourself money and pick up at BanColombia or BBVA (the other banks require cedulas). It's similar to western union, but has lower fees and seemed to be a lesser hassle for me. You can transfer yourself money in 15 minutes for $4. 99 or if you can wait 3 days, the fee is $. 50! You also receive a better exchange rate if you opt for the slower transfer. Below are some things I noticed picking up at each bank branch.

BBVA. Need to submit a photocopy of your passport. They ask you for your local Cell#, address. Otherwise an easy process after the 1st time and less crowded than BanColombia. Limit of $1,000 transfer per month. Subsequent pickups are easy as your information is stored.

Bancolombia. Need to submit a photocopy of your passport and fill out a form (where the money is coming from, your profession, salary. Etc) although you can bullshit on all the information. BanColombia seemed a bit more strict due to money-laundering concerns in Colombia. This form is only needed the first time and then you can pick up just by presenting your passport. BanColombia is a more crowded, so it would be ideal to find a smaller branch. A few tellers look at your passport entry stamp to make sure your within your visa allowance. If there's an issue, just say thank you and go to another branch or come back latter for a different teller. Believe the max transfer at Bancolombia was $3,000/ month.

Some tellers may ask who & why you are receiving money. I always told the tellers that I lost my wallet and was sending myself money and it was for "tourism". I found this to be an easier option for withdrawing larger sums of money at a time.

One huge issue I had on my MDE trip two months ago was complete denial across many banks of my ATM card. I phoned USAA from down there at the time and they said we see not see an issue but still on 2nd day and over 2 hours trying various ATMs could not use it. So I was forced to use my checking / debit card which I hate to do even in US cause if stolen can drain your account in an instant and wreck havoc with payments. Fortunately nothing happened.

So fast forward to last week and calling USAA to check 'What's Up with last Nov / Dec and they are like hey everything is fine" and when I told them I used my ATM card successfully in see. Are. In Nov they said "Yes because it is a USA Protectorate" LOL. Right then I knew that I needed to talk to his Super. Seems that since I last used my ATM in Colombia in Feb. 2016 Colombia does not allow ATM withdrawals. Has to be from a primary checking account.

Has anybody had similar issues?

My first time in Bogota, before everyone was using chipped cards, none of the ATMs I tried worked. I called my bank, I talked to someone in one of the banks. Nobody could help. Then I found a Citibank branch and it worked fine.

In Medellin, at the end of being there for a year straight, I started having ATM problems. Some ATMs I'd always used wouldn't let me withdraw. Others would only let me withdraw 400 k when before I had always taken more. Got back to the US and continued to have problems. Turned out there was a problem with the chip in my card. New card, no more problems.

If you're using USAA, you should be able to get an account with Navy Federal Credit Union. Low fees and they reimburse up to $10/ month of foreign ATM service fees. I'll let you know later this year how well they work with the various ATMs.

I just spent 40 minutes, digging through the wrong thread, trying to find my post about the various costs of getting pesos. The bank I use offered to sell me pesos at a cost of 16%. It's better than the airport casa de cambio, but worse than any other option. Even sending money to yourself via Western Union is cheaper.

However, Bank of America gives an excellent rate to their customers. Maybe because they've been caught twice, in the past 10 years involved in a major foreign currency manipulation scheme.

My soon to be former bank, Fifth Third, always hit me for about 6% on foreign ATM withdrawals. My new account charges a flat 1% and will reimburse foreign ATM fees.

One issue that most aren't aware of, involves the max amount an ATM will dispense. It's not universal. For example, I went to a Davivienda ATM with another monger. The max he could withdraw was 400 k. The max I could withdraw was 2 million.

Don't know what the bullshit with the Tinder is in Bogota. Whenever I click on someone, nobody clicks back. The few that do, do it 4 days later after I have already left.

So yesterday while I was in Barranquilla, a beautiful 22 year old chick in Bogota clicked me back. She wanted to pussyfoot around, while I was trying to get to the root. Finally went to whatsapp where I pulled out of her that she would come stay with me all night for 280K. I said no way. That is way too much. She asked if I was one of the guys that pay 100K. I said that I mess with a lot of normal women so it is usually 0. But I am willing to help if she would give me a more realistic price. She said 230. I said yes, but that will include your taxi or bus or transmilenio or whatever. She said sure. So when I get back to Bogota Wednesday, she is supposed to come in the afternoon and stay til the next day.

Here is my question. When she was telling me about the 280, she said that one place she works charges 300K/30 min. That is when I told her that I didn't need to know about places because of free chicks. It didn't hit me til later on last night. So today I asked what place. She would not tell me exactly, but said in Zona Rosa there is some disco on 86. Does anyone know what.

Maybe it is some Loutron chica freelancing it down there. That is my best guess from studying Routard's list from Jan. 2017.
