I have also been to Taos, NM (7000 feet) numerous times without an issue other than a shortness of breath when walking up some steep stairs. I wonder what that extra 1500 feet in Bogota will do to me..
Bogota is cold. I arrived yesterday and it was about 50 degrees out. Then the sun came out and the temp rose to around 65. It seems the weather is like home in the north east, unpredictable. Today, I went out for breakfast and it was raining and when I was done eating, it was sunny. Go figure. And I was on my way to the mall to buy a light jacket. I only brought sweaters with me and I was still chilly at night wearing them.

Actually- At different times there are Hot girls in many clubs in Santa Fe just like those 3 you mention. If you ignore the others you may be missing out-.

Paisa, La Casona, Lion, Atones, California, Texas, Punto de Oro- are all worthy.

Be careful when you get to a club- make sure you find out prices of drinks before you order as sometimes waiters will jack up the price on drinks. This happened to a friend at California- was overcharged like $15000 or so.

It is best to pay as you drink and not run a tab. Colombian beers are generally $6000.

I'm usually too tired at night to take back girls, but I'll sometimes get their info for a daytime session. This way you also know what you're getting compared to an escort where you're rolling the dice. I'm not aware of any escort review sites for Colombia similar to the erotic review in the US.
Actually there are exit fees at most clubs except Atunes.

Spot-on about doing a session at the club to see what the girls like-.

Can I use credit card at Lido's?

    Uber.

Then he couldn't find the Airbnb where I'm staying. Just lost time messing him. Oh well.

I'm staying in a studio within a 2-3 minute walk to sante Fe. So I put my bags down and freshen up. Walk down there and was disappointed. Went into all the clubs it was dead with minimal talent. It was 1 am. Fiebre and Troya usually always having hotness but not today. There were about 3 girls that had my interest and one of them wanted to charge me 300 k for 30 minutes because she said my dick was too big. Code for I don't really want to but if you over pay me I will. The other two were off the clock and getting in a cab. So, sadly I came away empty handed. I blame the Uber driver for my misfortune LOL. Tommorow is a new day I will slay.
I have to take a taxi from airport to the hotel since I have a phone I use for mongering that I need to register and purchase a sim card for every time I visit. I have been using movil exito, but for some reason I couldn't understand, they rejected me this time. But there was a virgin mobile guy that was able to get me a card. A copy of your passport is needed to get a sim card.

The taxi charged me 45 K pesos to get from the airport to hotel. I think this is very high. He seemed to have some type of automated display of final price, but I doubt locals get charged that much. I wish I could take uber from the airport, because that's when you're most vulnerable to be robbed, not that it happens very often. But like you said, there are issues with uber as they are at war with the taxis. But uber is so much better for getting around town, and a lot cheaper. Only downside is you have to wait a few minutes for them to arrive.

Never heard anyone ever suggest more than 100 K for 30 minutes in Santa Fe area. That's the price for TLN.

I'll probably splurge and stay at Casa Dann Carlton Hotel and Spa today (Thursday) and BH bicentario on Friday, and head out Saturday morning. I think it will be tough to meet until they get this credit card payment issue figured out with people from the US, so that we can private message. Atunes in the daytime is probably the ideal place to meet, but without PM, will be difficult.

I'm not sure the food in Bogota will be that much different than Medellin, but I find the food quality to be pretty good in Columbia in general. If you're only eating traditional food, it can get boring, but there a plenty of options in the malls and other tourist areas. I really like the chicken on the stick that vendors sell in the Santa Fe area. They are my go to food in the Santa Fe area and I've never gotten sick from them.

    Santa Fe.

There's only really 3 clubs you really need to know in Santa Fe. Atunes in the day time from noon to 7 PM and Troya and Fiebres at night. I did pull a hot Venezuelan from Venus club though. There is a new club called Eiffel across from Troya, but I wasn't impressed with the talent. La piscina was dead. If you want to stay past 2 AM (2 AM to 7 AM), there is a new club called Ibiza next to where El Castillo used to be, close to La Pisina, but there were only a couple ugly girls there and no guys at around midnight. It's possible this place gets better at 2 AM when the other clubs close, but I can't stay up that late to find out.

In most of the clubs, prices are 60-70 K COP for 20 minutes. The girls in the street hotels will charge from 35 K -50 K COP for twenty minutes. This is ridiculously cheap. Some of my best sessions were with a hot skinny Venezuelan girl in one of the street places. I went with her twice for 35 K COP each time, and she offered great DFK, DATY, FIV. Fiebres was pretty happening last night but it was so crowded there was barely any standing room. Troya was pretty tame last night, but these two clubs alternate on any given night as to which clubs the girls flock to. There was hot Venezuelan at Fiebres working at Fiebres the last couple days. You would know her if you see her as she is a thin blonde with white skin and blue eyes. Would want to get there early to pull her as later at night there will be lots of competition from locals.

There is no exit fee in any of the Santa Fe clubs as the girls are free to move around from club to club. At least I think that's true based on the few times I've taken girls back to the hotel. I'm usually too tired at night to take back girls, but I'll sometimes get their info for a daytime session. This way you also know what you're getting compared to an escort where you're rolling the dice. I'm not aware of any escort review sites for Colombia similar to the erotic review in the US.

Also visited Pussy House in Chaperino and pulled a couple girls from there, prices are same as Santa Fe at 70 K COP. Had very good sessions with a couple 7. 5's. There was a 9 hotness girl that walked in at around 10 PM, but a guy immediately grabbed her and was talking to her all night without pulling her, so I had to settle for a bit less attractive girl, but they let me do almost everything I wanted within reason. It's tough to get bareback anything or anal in Colombia. I think the chances of BBBJ are better the second time you see a girl, but only slightly.

The girls are so cheap here that money is not an issue for me, the limiting factor is how many girls can I pull in one day before I'm exhausted and have to go back to the hotel and crash. And I have much more stamina than the average guy. Now if you use the escort sites, the costs can get pretty high, but as I mentioned in a recent post, I got ripped off by one of those using fake pics. Someone recently posted a site with girls with verified pics. I should have been smarter and used that site.

On a side note, a much bigger expense is the hotel costs. I usually stay in places between $60 to $100 US / night. You can get 3 or 4 girls in Santa Fe for the price of a night in a hotel. It's amazing to me to so many hotels charging $400/ night in Bogota and they seem to be fairly booked. This is a ridiculous price for Bogota. I'm guessing it's mostly business travelers where the company is footing the bill so they don't care.

Have stayed away from the North clubs this trip as they are all clip joints. High exit fees and girls charging too much. If money is no object then Lidos would be the place to be, but be prepared to get ripped off.

One source I found online states that "in Bogota only a small number of people suffer from altitude sickness after their ascent into the city the likelihood is increased with a rapid ascent to a high altitude. Many people don't suffer, especially when arriving by plane as they land from a higher altitude. " Hmmm, arriving by plane. Apparently diet can be an issue, too - "Eating leafy greens can help to prevent altitude sickness due to their high levels of salicylic acid. These acids act as an anti-inflammatory and can help thin the blood, allowing the oxygenated blood to travel to all corners of the body. Taking on carbohydrates can prevent altitude sickness as their digestion helps to generate glycolysis (carbohydrate storage), which releases energy at a faster rate. " So eat your salad! Though as I recall from my visit to Medellin, avoiding carbs when eating out is the real problem in Colombia..
The humidity in Bogota is low. However, Bogota gets a lot of rain. If you are there during rainy season expect rain every day with some days having a constant light rain. If the sun is shining it is usually comfortable. I carry a light jacket in case it rains, or in case it clouds up.

Most people in Bogota wear long sleeves and jackets. Many wear heavy coats. Wearing short sleeves will make you stand out.

Service was pretty bad too and now my sheets smell like her. She could see I was enjoying it and asked if I wanted her to leave after about 20 minutes and I said yes. I'm guessing 100% of the pictures on that site are fakes. The escort sites know there's nothing we can do about getting ripped off so they have nothing to lose.

I did pull a couple escorts last year and one was not close as good as her online profile, but the second one had accurate pics and gave good service. I think both were from photoprepagos. I'm done with escorts this trip as I also wasted time waiting for the escort service to contact me and waiting for her.

Yesterday in Santa Fe was great though. Pulled multiple girls and all were good sessions. Plan to repeat tonight.

Altitude Sickness and the Bogota Climate.

Arrived in Bogota yesterday. Guys, soroche hit hard.

BTW, no one here knows what "soroche" is. Must be a Peruvian thing. Here they call it mal de altura, if I'm not confusing anything.

It hit me differently than Cuzco. In Cuzco I had a severe shortness of breath and headaches for the first day, but the next day I was fine. In Bogota, I didn't feel anything at first. Then I had a beer. My heart began pounding.

Though as I recall from my visit to Medellin, avoiding carbs when eating out is the real problem in Colombia. A veteran traveler and tour guide had this to say "A better cure is a sweet herbal infusions or aromatica as it is called locally. Some swear by coca tea, but actually any warm sugary fluid will pick you up as it is the glucose which alleviates the symptoms. I found Coca Cola, long recognized as the best hangover cure, is almost miraculous for altitude with its rich mix of caffeine and sugar. " Note to self, indulge in Coca Cola. The whole article is here:

    https://thecitypaperbogota.com/bogot...-problem/12962

Now would someone try and clarify the climate in Bogota? What I read are a lot of contradictions. I keep seeing Bogota referred to as "cold" or chilly" (including the article above), with highs in the mid-60's and lows in the upper 40's year around. Though I come from a warm climate with a hot summer, I don't find that to be "cold". In fact, by Labor Day, 50 degrees Fahrenheit will sound great. I also understand that Bogota can be damp or foggy, and we know how humidity enhances the cold. Yet other travel related sources refer to it as being dry due to its altitude, admonishing the visitor to hydrate by drinking more water. I visualize wearing a light jacket or a blazer, long sleeve shirt with jeans and regular leather shoes. But, when I look around Bogota using Google Street View, I see a lot of guys in their shirtsleeves. I curious what those who have visited have to say about that.

I've gone to Medellin a couple of times with absolutely no side effects. The altitude there is 4,900 feet. Bogota is 8,700 feet. Perhaps a good idea is to start by going to Medellin for a few days to a week, which will allow your body to acclimate to 5,000 ft and then go to Bogota. By then the adjustment from 5,000 to 8,700 feet may not be as debilitating and you may surmount it in a day or two. I'm just throwing out an idea.

Then I had a beer. My heart began pounding. Then I went slightly uphill back to my hotel. It was a short one-block walk, but I felt exhausted. Got in the room, lay down for 15 minutes. My heart rate kept pounding. Accompanied by a headache and bad pressure around my temples.

The coco leaves tea did nothing for me.

Decided to take it easy and found a tantra massage called Mantra. $140 for (supposedly 1 hour 20 minutes. Had a very nice massage with a nice tantra-like finish, done by a girl called Carolina. Nice girl and not a bad finish, but I had much better in Siem Reap and Hamburg of all places. The receptionist never bothered to give me a change from 150.

Thought I'd call it a night expecting to wake up relaxed and recharged. No such luck. Today did some touristy things in Candelaria and Monseratte. Every step uphill was a challenge. Got back to the hotel, had a couple of drinks. As I'm writing this, lying in my bed, my heart is making 130 a minute. It's clear to me that I'm not capable of drinking or making any physical exercises tonight. Am I fucked or what? What if this persists for all 5 days I'm here?

Should I ask a girl to do all the work for me, LOL?

Seems like the price went up a little at the clubs where it's now 70 K COP for 20 minutes. The girls on the street charge 50 K for same amount of time. The hottest girl at Fiebras is currently a blond Venezuelan. Talked to her but didn't pull her since nothing of what I like was on the menu..
Great information. I can't wait to hit up one of those spots. What was the exit fee?
