I have my eyes set for Colombia when I travel in Late August. Newbie to international mongering but I'm a native speaker so I figure I can do well.

I'm having trouble deciding Bogota or Medellin. Anyone care to describe the differences for me? Which city is more fun? I'm a young guy that like to party.

I am not sure about girl friendly. But I walked through the lobby after one of my sessions at Mezzanine across the street and it is a nice hotel. It has balconies for some of the rooms as well which is something I would like to have this time around. You don't find many hotels with balconies in Bogota.

I've stayed at Dann Carlton several times and it's girl friendly, but make sure to book for two. They will suggest you check in any visitors, but you can easily avoid the front desk to bring a girl up if you want to. There are a couple elevators in the hotel and you use the one opposite side from the front desk to sneak a girl in. There is a nice sauna / pool area in the hotel and you will need to check your girl in if you want to visit the pool area with her. Also, they make you wear a shower cap to use the pool so you have to bring one with you. Don't miss out on breakfast as it's great.

I've never been to Mezzanine and didn't realize it was so close to this hotel. I'll need to visit next trip. The club Lidos is also in that area but the girls there are expensive.

Yeah. Plane tickets have always been pretty cheap around Colombia. In some cases the plane is cheaper than the bus. You can even buy last minute without breaking the bank. Bogota definitely has more chicas. It's a much larger city. But a lot of us prefer Medellin because it has better weather and is generally friendlier and easier to navigate.

I usually always prefer the bigger city, Bogota is awesome.

Hey Showdown, A good place to start is Unicentro Bogot, a 10 minute walk north from your hotel. If you haven't been there it's a very modern mall, if the signs were in English you would think you were in a top notch mall in the USA. Tons of young women walking all over the place. Most are just window shopping because the money is tight and they need to get out of the house.
