Governors are taking more stringent measures than the President's policy while the President maintains that the former are not legal. As the most people support and trust their Governors, rather than the President, Duque looks pathetic.

Not sure if authorities have the same definition of "service" people as we have!

Brothels are considered as nightclubs or bars, and it is very likely that the governement will close them very soon.

I had the offer today to reschedule my flights, or take a refund. Went for the refund. I imagine the flight deals will be spectacular to entice travel once the bans are lifted. The airlines will be desperately trying to rebuild revenues and expedite the timeframe.

More Airbnbs should be available. Yesterday I was only offered part refunds, today, total refunds, and again, hosts will be keen to start the bookings coming in ASAP.

Empty hotels will be doing deals like crazy.

Tourism in general may get a big boost with tourists getting extra respect for showing their faith in the country on return, and boosting the economy.

How much will the working girls miss the gringo cock and bills.
I think you're absolutely right on this. Colombia is trying to get over the stigma of being a dangerous country with over fifty years of FARC rebels and paramilitary death squads. Since 2017, after an agreement with FARC was reached, the country has been pushing heavily on tourism. After the ban is lifted, they'll be welcoming tourism with open arms to get the peso back up. As for the girls, this virus doesn't change the fact that Venezuela is still a wreck. The Vennies will be even more desperate for cash, prices might actually get lower. I predict the girls will come back in droves. We'll see.

As for the expats who are living in Colombia like Woodman, you guys are our brothers on the ground. You're our eyes and ears. The rest of us can only get info from the net, but you guys are actually there. So, please keep us updated during this damn travel ban.

Probably the quickness of decision is partially caused by a political factor.

Elected officials, specially the President and his party, do not want administrative scandals and missteps added to the ongoing anti-government movement / sentiment.

Venezuelans would be limited to crossing the border between Puerto Carreno and Inirida on the Orinoco River in Vichada department. There's no border patrol there, and it's easy to cross if you ask a local fisherman. You can also cross over from Colombia to Venezuela the same way. If you're a tourist, it's a lot easier than getting a visa. There are many small settlements along the river.

Even though the borders are temporarily closed, at least Brazil remains open in case you want to re-route your travel plans.

    The upside

    Game Over?

So apart from the concern we may have for the Colombians' welfare, health wise and financially; the pertinent question is when will mongering return to normal?

Peak mongering in other countries may take years to return to pre virus levels, with many bars closing permanently and working girls leaving town to return home. A crash followed by a slow rebuild similar to the expectation for Pattaya or Bangkok in Thailand perhaps. Forecast. Slim pickings?

Colombian mongering may be not be hit as hard due to a lesser reliance on tourism and other factors?

It's anyone's guess at the moment.

In some countries crime against tourists may rise significantly once they return.

Will the financial effects of the virus cause a new desperation for many in Colombia with safety the casualty?

Or will it all blow over in a month or two with no real effect to the number of working girls, or the clubs and bars, or the "mood" on the streets?

I doubt it as most have been allowed into Colombia as refugees, they will not let others in The border is shut.
