Alot of bad advice being given here on ISG. First of all if you are paying 500 k or 600 k then you are part of the problem.

These girls are only getting away with this shit because there are guys like you who are paying it. If you go back in time just a few years ago before the pandemic and before all the YouTube videos and subsequent passport bros and Makin' it rain motherfuxkers started showing up, (see recent video posted in Cartagena thread) none of these women were charging more than 200 k.

You coming down here paying 500 k or 600 k or even a "crisp $100 usd note" you are just enabling these women to rip you off. If we all got on the same page and all agreed to only pay 150 mil, then they would have to accept that price or they would starve. And I guarantee you that the local rolos are not paying these outrageous prices. $150 mil Is a generous amount for outcall and in the barrios with the locals that is more in line with the real prices, not your inflated gringo prices you quote that are fucking up the market.

First of all I've been going to Colombia longer than you have been alive, so I believe you have a lot of posts with limited knowledge. I have never paid in dollars anywhere! Or 400 600 cop. I have a list of favorites, non pros who until this year never even mentioned the high prices YOU Medellin squarters brought to Bogota. I only mentioned the cost of changing dollars to cop and the exchange rate they rip you off for. You really need to brush up on you reading comprehension, I said I have always paid in local currencies for the last 30 years. So if the knuckle heads who pay these girls 400 k and you Medellin guys continue doing it then AND ONLY THEN is it better to pay 100 USD than go through the exchange bull shit and pay 100 USD which after all the exchange bullshit shakes out to be around 3500 to a dollar for the guys like you who are paying hard core prepagos 400 and 500 in Medellin and bringing that shit here to Bogota. Pay attention now, stay with me on this. I SAID THEY PAY THESES GIRLS 400/500 cop not me, never have and never will. And I don't fuck hard core pros either like you and some others feed on. But with the exception of SF I think its best to use USD. This year I only had 5 trips to Colombia, all to Bog. The last 2 trips were is Sept. And Dec. Due to the many rookie guys going to Bogota this year I have seen a marked increase the amount the girls are asking of 500,600 cop and higher and I've seen an increase of them mentioning time limits too, something I never ran into before in Bog.

So by the time you change USD at the current exchange rate of 3,900 and you add in the vig of some 2000 per dollar your accepting 3700. And less if you add in the ATM charge so do the math how much your paying in cop 400,000 500,000 and even 600,000 and up, a crisp $100 bill is cheaper than pesos and some of these girls are not rocket scientist so, a US bill impressed them more that pesos. As stated above this is not recommended for SF and other casas but for chippers and non pros I recommend going back to USD, until the exchange rate goes back up.

Thanks for all the tips. I've been a few places around the globe that prefer US dollars so I wanted to check.

They may prefer the US dollar where there are restrictions on currency exchange and they get more with US dollars than the official exchange rate indicates. But that is not the case in Colombia. So no, there is no advantage to taking foreign currency and having to get it exchanged versus just getting paid in your own currency. Colombia's currency trades freely on the world market so anyone taking dollars is either trying to beat you on the exchange rate and take advantage of your ignorance, or perhaps just trying to make it easier for you to pay them to get the money if you don't have pesos. But you're not likely to get any deals.

Only pay in pesos. Don't flash dollars around because the price is getting driven up; Cartagena has been ruined because of this. And punters need to remember that girls will always high-ball you at the start of negotiations.

Colombian Pesos. Colombia is far enough from the USA and doesn't have the USA presence like a Tijuana or Costa Rica so everything is in local Pesos. If you see someone trying to quote you in US dollars in Colombia you're probably about to get ripped off paying a super high gringo rates.

Use your foreign ATM at the airport in Bogota and you can withdraw up to 2 million pesos (just under $500 at today's exchange rate).

The benefits of this are 1) the banks give you the best exchange rate and 2) you don't have to do conversions in your head while trying to work out the dollar price vs. Pesos, when the girl tells you pesos and you're trying to get the right dollars.

Bottom line. Pesos - you'll save more in every aspect.

Always pesos. Noatter what country you go to always the local currency. You shouldn't even have dollars here at all. You go to the ATM and withdraw COP and that's what you use here. Only a fool would use dollars here.

I'm heading down to Bogota in March and I've seen reports there are two Hotel Tequendama's. I am trying to figure out which one is the best one to stay at for mongering purposes.

Teqendama Suites is the one that many ISGers have gone to and been happy.

A friend and I took our premier trip to CO a couple of weeks ago. OUr route was Bogo to Medellin to Cartagena and back to Bogo. We liked the food scene in Bogo, but really that's about it. I know some on here like the clubs (Troyas, Fiebre, and others), and we checked them out but I'd give them a hard pass unless you're desperate. The area does not feel safe. The three clubs we went into before Fiebre were seedy and dirty. Fiebre was okay, and the door staff were super pleasant. But still didn't care for the area very much. We stayed in Hotel be Virrey on the first leg. Small rooms, but nice hotel. Great area of town. Lots of bars / clubs / restaurants. We stayed at Tequendama Suites on the last leg. Also liked it. Rooms large and well-kept. Area around the hotel not nearly as interesting or as pleasant as Parque Virrey area near Hotel be Virrey. Views of the mountains were great from T. Suites. We brought our own girls from Medellin on the last leg. I had checked out Seeking.com before we went to Bogo, but prices were high for ST and even higher for LT, either that or the girls were looking for permanent support. So we didn't end up seeing anyone from Seeking.

And there's the kicker: if you're going to Colombia to have fun, Medellin and Cartagena have so much more to offer. Yes, in the way of female companionship, but not limited to that. Food was excellent. Lots of tourist things to do. Communa 13. Walking around El Poblado. Even the Escobar museum (which is a bit of a rip-off). As to the females, well, just look out your door and they are waiting for you. Or hang out in one of the bars / restaurants off Parque Lleras and just watch the goings on. And the pricing is very reasonable compared to my home country (USA). Cartagena has a ton of things to do, and the ladies are just waiting for you to say "hola" and then off you go. Beach and snorkelling in Carta. Seaside meals. World Heritage site. Etc. Nothing like this in Bogo.

So, next trip, we have decided to give bogo a pass, and just start off in Medellin.

BTW, if you are in Medellin, there are some massage shops that people on this forum have mentioned, including (especially) Energy Spa. I thought Energy was a big "meh. " The massage itself wasn't much, and the more interesting parts were mechanical and boring. Nothing erotic about it. Can say though that the place itself is nice. Large, private rooms with shower, very clean, pleasant staff. But honestly, you are better off just grabbing one of the massage girls in Poblado / Provenza. Had a nice experience with one of those.
