Reading the forum and watching videos about it, it has made me much more wary. I am genuinely thinking about planning how to handle my cash and possibly move my cash out of my bank accounts.

I watched the Vice News video on YouTube; the bit at the end with the gangster, a good ending to the story.
I think your advice is mainly theoretical, try to do it practical.

Never been to Medellin so I cannot comment on that.

However, I can comment that Cartagena no longer feels the same anymore since the pandemic. In part, all these bad actors from the same "A" grade categorical group, to put it diplomatically, has destroyed all the ambiance and fun for the rest of us hobbyist who understands discretion and hence tend to act sensibly in the local environment. As such, I no longer look to Cartagena anymore as my playground destination.

    3. Get their social media accounts.

    4. Take a selfie with them and send it to your friends at the beginning of the date.

    5. Keep your friends updated throughout the date. (Text in the bathroom).

    6. Make a video call and introduce them to your friends during the date. It's fun and if they are normal they'll love to try and talk to your American friends.

    7. Don't drink anything you haven't prepared or seen prepared.

    8. Double date with a friend or group date.

    9. Meet people through friends of friends, social / sporting events, school, church, volunteering, etc.

    10. Keep a limited amount of money in your travel account. With the majority of your money stored in the main account.

The biggest thing to learn is how they kept the guy for a few days so they can max out his credit card by moving money through a cash app.

Also, now that I have learned more about scopolamine, the more weary I am. I have to scrutinize a bit more carefully now with all these SA girls who are so eager to meet me. I actually know of an acquaintance that happened to him in Medellin and it was a nightmare for him. All his valuables were stolen and he was knocked out for more than a day.

I think if the hotel front desk needs registration for all visitors, it will avoid that awkwardness of demanding a cedula. I am not sure if most AirBNB apartments there have the same policy or not, but I would feel more at ease if they do at places where I stay.

By the way, my photos are almost instantaneously backed up to the cloud after they are taken.
You think like children or like a movie fan. The life is not what you see in the movies. If you cross the street on the streetlights you can get the dunk driver, if you are lucky. Or you think that they have to stop because you are the pedestrian and the pedestrian always right. Who cares? If you get overdose, is it important for you if the criminal's pics are saved on the cloud Or if the front desk will resister a girl with ID? She can say any time that you wanted to rape and kill her and that was self-defense, + she doesn't know what kind of drugs you use. She will put some drugs in your pocket and on your hands. What is the next? Drugs will became your problem + a criminal case.

Sometimes, the girl just comes straight to the hotel, we chat in the bar for half an hour to build comfort, and then go upstairs to do the deed. No money changes hands. These are regular girls with day jobs. I very rarely drink alcohol with them, and I watch my soft drinks of course, and have all my valuables locked up in various locations in the room.

And on three occasions, these girls have become friends / regulars. I'm seeing one of them tomorrow for our 4th meeting. I like to have a couple of civvie girls in my rotation as well as banging putas in casas.

    3) Asking them to give you their cedula so you can take a photo of it will not help built rapport. In fact, it will destroy it. It will kill the mood, and if the girl is a non-WG, then there's a good chance that I can kiss goodbye to any sort of action. And if the girl is a scammer, then having a photo of their cedula on my phone will be of little help if they then scopolamine my ass and steal that phone.

I personally know a guy here who was scopolamined. It happened in a bar, where 2-3 girlfriends were all telling him how handsome he was, and in his own words "they kept making me drink". Two obvious red-flags right there:

    A) when 2 or more girl-friends show interest in you with over-the-top compliments, or.

    B) they're encouraging you to drink.

Then you have a potential situation. These girls often work in pairs. One distracts you, whilst the other spikes your drink.

Interesting enough, the casas are THE safest place to be from my experience. Even the most rough looking ones, on a dodgy looking calle, seem safe once inside. And the touts who promote them, although very enthusiastic at times, are never rude or aggressive when I say "No gracias."

    In summary,

    1) There are no hookup culture in Colombia, do not expect to get lucky as any eager girls are always up to something. Always approach with huge caution and suspicion.

    2) Look out for any unattended drink which will give the girl opportunity to roofie you. Drink from a bottle that is opened in front of you if possible. Get a wingman to party in bar to look out for one another.

    3) Cedula or ID, snap a copy of it from your phone to consciously let them know that you have their info. Hopefully, that could at least deter.

Stay safe and have lots of Safe Sex, jejeje.
#1 (There are no hookup culture in Colombia) if someone think that 20-25 year Colombiana can't fall asleep because she is dreaming about 50+ year old Gringo dick and badly need sex, you need ask your mom about that.

#2 you can't 100% control your food, drink, etc. Because when you drunk, have erection, etc man's brain does not work. +there are many other ways to get you dragged or rob you. For example show you a gun, or kick you in the balls. Its more simple than you think.

#3 they will take your phone including your snaps.

    Points 2 and 3 are a must.

I think with point 1, a lot of it is on personal judgement. Generally speaking, I agree. There are probably red flags like overly eager girls looking to go back to your place within an hour of meeting you in a bar or club. Or the type of group a girl is part of. Also, where you go out has a part to play as well. There are little tell tale signs that should prompt someone to be a bit more cautious. But I wouldn't flat out say that there isn't a hook-up culture; it's less likely on a first meet / date, but much more likely if you meet again.

To see a different view of women in Colombia, watch this from Rami Travel: https://youtu.be/1twsPd70Kj8.

Ultimately, there are good and bad people, just like anywhere else. Just keep your wits about you.

This is why I want to stay at a hotel where they take a copy of the girl's IDs, hang out with fellow mongers, and keep an eye on each other.
You think and look for insurance to come down yourself. #1 any criminal can have fake ID. #2 When a criminal makes a crime, they hope that they've never been caught or just they don't think about anything and do crime. If you think that hotel security safe you from criminals, what if he works with criminals? #3 there are many other safety problems, we just don't know about them.

Yes, I stayed for one night few weeks back. I did not bring any one but asked the agent while checking and he said no issues to being without any fee until 9 pm. After that guest charge is applicable but did not asked how much. Guessing around 70 k or some experts can chime in.

I loved the tequendama suites but only lack of balcony where I cannot lit the cigar while having a drink.

Normally, I just walk in with the girl, but there's this one security guy who's over-enthusiastic and insists on the girls showing their cedula and registering at reception.

One of the girls I brought in said to me with a smile "This is the protect you," so yes, it makes sense.

Okay, so went out to the casas again today. First call, my favourite one:

    Calle 57 # 9-35

I'm sitting having a beer and about to ask one of my favourite girls here for a "un rato" and then a number of police men walk in, in full uniform, with a couple of official looking women..
Excellent TR and I stayed in Tequendama Suites but only for one night.

As you said you can bring girls with no guest fee until 9 pm. The suites are huge with kitchen, sofa set high floors gives the best view too.

Hope to see some pics as I will give it a try with these casas next time.
