I see you mentioned the airport for a covid test. I am coming from San Andres and I don't know if there is a testing sight on the island. If there is not then I would need a test at the airport as I have a 3 hour layover which would make it tough to leave the airport for a test in town.

If there is a test spot on the Island then no problem.

I had good luck here. My PCR test I got in the states was not accepted in Bogota so I got a pcr test here in Bogota and I was able to avoid self quarantine and continue on the Parque Tyrona and when I returned to Bogota I got the antigen test. I think it was $40 dollars or many be a few bucks less. The manager of the lab, Steve was excellent, he even gave me his cell phone number so I could contact him during the Semana Santa holiday when they were closed.

I spent time online yesterday looking for a place to take the covid test. Everywhere was closed on Sunday (except for the airport which was full), but I managed to make reservations at 2 different Synlabs because I did not know if I would leave Chapinero and go stay downtown or not. Most places were wither 140,000 or 150,000. I had found one place for 100,000 but whenever I tried to pay online for that place it would give me an error message.

My ex-girlfriend from Cali flew back home last night so I had my nurse come over. I told her that I had to find a place to get a covid test. She told me that Cendiatra was good. No appointment needed. Takes 1 hour. And best of all 80,000 pesos.

This morning at 10:30 she left to go to a meeting. I booked a hotel near Atlantis Mall and called Cabify to take me to the clinic. We passed one and I shouted out. He said chill, you are in good hands. He dropped me off at the address. I went in and told the ladies I needed an antigen test. They said they did not do covid tests there, but gave me a slip of paper with another address. I asked if that was the one I had just passed and she said yes.

It was raining a little, but I walked the few blocks with my suitcase back to the other location. I arrived at 12:15. There was one person being served at the counter and the line was outside. There was one guy in front of me. Other people lined up behind me. When the guy in front of me went some moron pulled up and went inside and got behind him ignoring the line. I did not say anything to him although I usually would.

I told the lady I was there for an antigen test. She asked if it was for some company or if I was doing it on my own. I gave her my passport and email and 80,000 pesos. She gave me a sheet to fill out about symptoms and if I had been anywhere that has covid or around anyone with covid. I was to fill that out and hand it to the lab tech that was going to call me.

The lab tech called and I went into the back room and sat in the chair. She had me lower my mask below my nose. She stuck the swab in each nostril and told me they would call me back to the desk with the results in 15 minutes. I went back out to wait and in 14 minutes they called me with the results. I was out of there at 12:59. So no appointment, 80,000 pesos, and 44 minutes arrival until departure.

Now I am at my hotel. I am going to catch a Cabify down to Santa Fe to see what is going on. Bogota is pretty much a ghost town. Some restaurants are open, but they are take away only. Everything else besides health centers and I guess supermarkets and convenience stores is closed.

Do any Bogota labs offer the Saliva sample PCR test, where all you do is spit in a cup? If not, how long do they stick the cotton swab down / up your nose?

I went to another place for antigen test last week. A guy stuck, and almost hit, the stick in each nostril too harsh, and it hurt a lot. If it didn't happen to you, or other members, I would like to visit the clinic you visited next time.

Warmup the first one and second one I bust. Make sure you ask the 20 min room and not the 15 min room. They are charging 30-35 k including room. i can vouch for woodmans' intel, though quite unnecessary as his reputation precedes him

I don't go out past 10 either, but it's relatively safe. Ymmv depending on looks. But as far as mongering goes it is in full swing my friend. Tons of 8's all over. . esp by calle 19 carr 24ish, then work towards calle 16 and the perimeter of carr 20. at least 50+ girls that whole zone. watch out for underage, tons out there.

Curfew is from 11 pm to 4 am and is done with on the 24th.

I was surprised too because I never saw this mentioned anywhere. I don't speak Spanish, so was using Google translated messaging. Also I was staying at a high end joint in Chapinero, so no real 'safety' concern. The WhatsApp operator indicated they require deposit from all first time clients.

Odd. My Spanish is OK but I also use google translate to make sure I am not making any silly mistakes. Maybe next time use telegram (I have always had better responses from them with it) or use a Colombian phone number (if you haven't been already). Of course, it may also have just been chance that you got an operator like that.

For hotel, I personally like to sample multiple places on any visit. I get bored easily staying in the same place for more than 3 nights. The best value I found this round was Embassy Suites. Excellent rates that include good breakfast and evening adult beverages daily, plus it was also the most girl friendly. Also very nice location with great restaurants and coffee joints. Just book for 2 (same price as 1) so you don't sweat about whether you will be charged for extra guest.

I'm surprised La Celestina asked for a deposit. Did you speak with them in Spanish and where did you call the girl to? They have never asked me for a deposit and they are pretty well reputed, at least in Bogota. I can vouch that they are a legit agency but I can tell you from experience that a lot of those girls are available on the other prepago sites for lower rates. The advantage of using them is that the pictures they post are fairly accurate but some of them are a couple of months old or have airbrushed tattoos.
