First time posting, although I have been lurking for the past year or so, as I have planned my trip to Bogota over the past few months. So appreciative to the wealth of information here, I never would have pulled the trigger on my trip without it. I went ahead and made plans to visit for July 7-15, and so I was pretty thrilled when I saw that almost all of the daily restrictions were lifted on June 8.

As far as I can tell, there are no restrictions on purchasing alcohol any longer, and restaurants and bars are business as usual, subject to a Maximum Capacity (restriction, which is to be posted at the entrance. In fact, the only places that I can see that are closed are discos (a win for me) and stadiums. Other than needing to wear a mask everywhere, I really can't see that there are any restrictions in Bogota.

Are they still doing cedula checks? Or can anyone pretty much travel anywhere, just as long as they are wearing a mask? (They don't mention anything about cedula checks, only that the curfew has been lifted.).

Also, any suggestions for a good place to take a date for dinner? My general plan was to meet with girls from Seeking (SA), and I was looking for places within walking distance from my rental. I am staying in an AirBnB right between Parque 93 and Zona T, so I am sure that there are a ton of great places. I found a listing for OSK Peru, which looks great, but struck out when trying to find a traditional steakhouse. Any suggestions?

If your in Zona T try Andres Carne in DC, It's not as much fun as the original in Chia because of the multi level set up but the steak is good served on a sizzling metal platter and after dinner you can dance to some good music.

To answer another guy who said it is crazy to use the money changers at the airport well I agree. In my case the line for the ATM at the airport was long. So I knew the taxi would cost me 25 K. To me my time is important.

They must have put their house in order maybe due to competition, because the last time I changed money at the airport about 3 years ago I literally got screwed. A good 20% below market.

I would have posted the same thing as you did a year ago. To recap, you are into the three phases of relationships: working girls, working girls where there is affection (sugar baby like), and civilians.

I also appreciate the tip about checking other restaurants on that street. Primi looks to be an excellent Italian restaurant, right down the street. There's a Four Seasons and a Sofitel on the other side of the street, but their restaurants look overpriced for the quality. I'll do some more hunting, but now I've got three very decent restaurants that I can visit within walking distance. Much appreciated!

Well this is timely. Just flew into BOG Wednesday night. Happened to glance at the currency exchange rates. One place was giving 3620 and the other had 3630 per dollar. I believe the actual rate at the time was 3670. Usually the airport exchange rates suck, but that's not bad at all, especially if you're already at the airport and don't want to wait for the ATM.

Also not sure what ATM you used, because I got 3,629 (net) on same day at the red ATM (I think Scotiabank) by the luggage claim area, no fees.

What is the problem of using an ATM machine at the airport before you exit? Why is this even an argument? Why would anyone even consider these money changers? Why are they even still there? As I arrived in BOG airport, not requiring the CoViD tests was such a treat.

I used the 1 hour free WiFi to get everything else figured out.

Cell phone roaming: I found that my Simple Mobile (ex Trac Phone) that uses the T-mobile network is doing south America roaming without problem. I love the Simple Mobile, it's awesome, you could have an America Roaming SIM without ever presenting your ID and pay everything in cash. This is quite a nice touch. Anyway, only problem is that the T-Mobile network is always flaky everywhere. Even in the USA I have white holes and here in BOG I see the bars frequently disappear while my PY sim card that logs onto the ATT network in the USA has way more stable bars.

Uber works in strange ways in Colombia, they didn't even show me a price. But I jumped and it worked 25 mil COP to Chapinero.

The driver said everything is open again. Saw people in restaurants. Seems like mask wearing on the street may be required. I usually hate that but I ended up doing it just to avoid testing the waters. But even in shops I see people without masks, they just put them on if someone else comes inside.

I went to Pussy House for the second time in about 2 months tonight. I just want to say that the Santa Fe experience is definitely not what it was, Seems like it is a bit depressed. Less traffic and less SGs. There are still hot girls but not as many as before.

I guess it is the economy, less locals coming out then before. I went out tonight and it was OK. It seems like last few times it has been ok but not great.
