I am very familiar with Tijuana, started my Tijuana mongering visits in about 1998 and weekly visits from about 200 thru 2004 then back to monthly visits from 2005 through 2010, all the spots CC and AB and HK and Bar Trop, etc.

Anyone on the list visit both Tijuana and Colombia clubs? I posted this similar message on the Hong Kong site. My last trip to Hong Kong Tijuana, I met a guy visiting from Bogota. I actually had people in Bogota posting on social media how bad things were, and I called down and asked people there, and they were a little scared.

There was indeed some panic last Thursday as vandals were reported entering in homes in the poorer neighborhoods in the south, which was the reason of the curfew. Protests are still going on, and sadly one young student died in the protests, but vandalism and riots seem under control now. Of course it would be a bad idea to be in between protesters and police, but for the rest tourists have not to fear for their safety, I mean not more than before the protests. Main impact for everyone is Transmilenio who is often blocked and vandalized by protesters, the rest is business as usual, including the mongering scene.

Villainy, next time you go to Colombia, I strongly suggest you acquaint yourself with either bing or google translate. I am not fluent in Spanish by any means, but I have never had a problem getting someone to understand when I use those programs on my phone, and they are free.

A woman I met in Mexico City said living there was the equivalent of smoking eight cigarettes a day due to the pollution. I would be stunned if Bogota isn't similar. I take it every day during flu season. That said, if I had to guess I would say that it was more pollution and altitude that did you in then the flu. If this happens again, you will know it likely was not the flu.

That said, I really like your report. I think you really captured the good and bad of Bogota. Yes, it is pussy paradise, but it comes at a cost of the weather, the pollution, the crime, and the crowded streets. Medellin is way more user friendly for most mongers than Bogota is. For me, it is not a question of adjustment. It is just with time the city pollution, much like Mexico City, wears on me: a headache, stuffy nose, malaise. It isn't bad enough for me to not enjoy the hunt, but I don't feel my best there. For a lot of guys, going to Bogota, picking up a chick or two, and then moving to a more hospitable city may be a better option than just staying in Bogota.

The Doctor said it was definitely flu and I believe him. A physician friend told me next time to make sure to take Tami-flu with me because it is the best thing to dampen the effects and shorten your misery.
