So, I'm not as great a writer as the members on this board. Many of you should throw your stories in a book and make some money.

I got into Bogota around 8 pm and went straight for my hotel near Santa Fe.

I understand the thinking too whether it is correct or not is a different matter. My opinion is that BBFS is just a matter of time in the life of a monger and I had my share of BBFS experiences also during all these years. I realize this is not the main point you are making about BBFS, but just a couple of comments about your intro "HIV transmission is highly unlikely through vaginal sex and the other STD are or with mild symptoms ore easily curable".

Drug-resistant strains of gonorrhea have been a bit of concern for quite a while. Half of the 500,000 reported infections in the US each year are resistant to at least one antibiotic according to the CDC. And I know a bunch of people who work on infectious diseases who tell me there is at least one strain of gonorrhea that appears to be resistant to every antibiotic we have available. So we might run out of luck in the not so distant future as far as "easily curable" is concerned. And a sensation that feels like pissing glass shards is not exactly my idea of a mild symptom.

Especially if you are a guy, I agree the evidence is that the odds of being infected with HIV through vaginal sex are very low. But the evidence is also fairly clear that those odds take a big hit if you already have another STD, in part because of compromised barriers. So if you use your vacation to engage in BBFS with a bunch hookers in some of the rougher RLDs where STDs are probably highly prevalent and antiretroviral therapy probably is not, then you certainly are taking your chances (especially if you are not using PrEP).

All a matter of what risk you are willing to take I suppose. Lots of people get away with it, some do not.

A good compromise that I use are ultra thins. I swear by the "Air Thin" line made by EXS. You won't even know it's on, trust me, I've checked several times before. I'm looking to add a side trip to my upcoming visit, and can't decide whether to go to Cali or Bogota. Seems as if the big difference is climate- hot and sticky vs cold and damp. I've been to both. I like the weather in Bogota, you can get some beautiful 70 degree sunny days and I especially like sitting outside my hotel at lunch time in Chico Norte and watch all the secretaries going to and from their lunch break. Don't be afraid to say Hello, and start a conversation, I've landed more than a few this way over the years. Bogota is a big city, over 8 almost 9 million people, half of them women so you have a lot of choices, crime has skyrocketed over the last year, even in the so called 'safe north' area, but I know Cali has always been dangerous, best to stay in the south area, the Radisson is a good bet. Bogota cons: this week we will be heading into the rainy season, it's a high elevation over 8000 ft. And it can take a day or two to acclimate. The restaurants were once the best in Colombia but alas, many have closed during the pandemic. I'm a beach guy so a hot and sticky city like Cali, without a nearby playa to visit, is a deal breaker to me. Hope this helps.
