I wouldn't pay $5100 usd that's for damn sure. I live here (medellin not Bogota, but visit Bogota often) and stay for 3 months at a time with that much money. Think I've been spending too much time in Santa Fe so figured I'd spend some time looking at other places. Went to Pussy House, turns out it moved to another location on calle 65 #13-61. Chelovec, first time I went to Argentina, I used a tour operator. It was 3 X the price of what I would have done on my own. In your case, I would guess you paid 5 X what I would have travelling to Bogota on my own.

I get the tour though. You have someone to show you the ropes the first time who knows where to go and can speak the language and have the safety of a group, but I just did it that one time and just went on my own after that, and I recommend you do that as well.

Probably I did overpay but it was a very enjoyable, stress free time. As I become better at Spanish and more familiar with the country, I'll free better about freelancers.

I've read most of the reports in the last couple of days and have a pretty good idea of what to expect, but I'm primarily only into BBFS.
