Alright, I know people hate seeing these post. But fuck it, I will be in Bogota soon and looking for cliff notes. I can read, but why'all put too much value information that it's impossible to go through.

I do my part on these forums as well, so hopefully someone will be kind enough to give the quick notes or just read what I gathered so far and approve or reject. And why.

Should I stay at Hotel Tequendama? It's been spoken of a lot on websites, and its about $40 a night. Its in my range for $, but its farther from Zona Rosa, and I don't know if its truely guest friendly (or even if I should take girls up). Any suggestions for places to stay in Bogota, please give.

Paisas and Troy night clubs are places to go. I don't plan on wandering around in that area at night, but maybe during the day? (Safe or no?) What other safe clubs to go to? Price for girls on-site is still around 100 k? How about take home?

I also read some reports where you pay 45 mill?? Colombia pesos for 2 hours of just bliss? Is that right, 45 million pesos or 450 k? Maybe I don't have the right lingo. Is this the mansion experience I read in other reports?

Mil means thousand. 45 mil = 45,000. It's really quite simple. Have you never been here before or something? Even on the money like for example the older notes say 20,000 and the newer notes say 20 mil. I don't see how you can mix that up.

Most of us just use the worldtraveler69 maps and walk the neighborhoods. There's like 40+ casas in central Chapinero you can get to by foot. You'll find a few of the ones on the map aren't there anymore, but while you're exploring, you'll find several new ones that aren't on the map. .

photoprepagos.com looks too good to be true. Advice on how to use? Is it reliable, ie girls match pictures? Some people have mentioned it and it looks good to me bc of the posted hourly prices. LOL. Tried. It get banned again, but whatever. There are other avenues. Cupid has some prospects. But after a few days there, which I will assume is true for SA. It'll be a waste of time. Ended up booking hotel in zona rosa since brining a girl back isn't the safe thing to do in Colombia. Shame, all other destinations, I've visited, is the norm. Even with working girls. The whole scoping thing is a rabbit hole of misinformation, some truths and ultimately most of the time poorly judged decisions by us which the girl has taken advantage of. In other cities where the escort scene is big (such as CDMX) I don't see as much focus on druggings and I'm not sure if it's because forum members more freely share information of the girls contact or if it's just a different environment but I would still just follow the same rules as to the other places you've been in. Don't leave valuables lying around or in sight and don't use the time to decide that you're going to crack open beers and do shots and then leave your beer and alcohol unattended in your hotel room while idk you go piss, take a shower or something. For that matter I do the same in the clubs every place I go even here in the States. If I'm at a table and I've got a drink I don't leave my beer unattended while I need to go piss. Instead I either just finish it and then go or take it with me and hope I can put it in my pocket or rest it on something. But it sounds like you're already experienced in this so I'm not going to lecture. Just hear of these stories of people being scoped and in almost all of the cases it's due to poor judgement (accepting candy, food or drinks from girls; leaving drinks unattended with girls; leaving your drink unattended fullstop, etc).

You mention that you've been to Tijuana and CDMX before and honestly if you're okay with those 2 places Santa Fe will be okay for you too. Santa Fe reminds me a very slight amount like the 2 roads leading down that hill to the alley in Tijuana, mixed in with a bit of the more bustling, larger area of something like La Merced in CDMX with there being a lot of girls but just without the same amount of people walking around from the markets but still busier than Tijuana. Anyways, safety seems to always be a concern for Bogota and while it's not unwarranted, it's an rld area what does anyone expect? But it also doesn't deserve the vibe that some users give it of being completely unsafe.

1) Tequendema will work fine. Literally a 4 minute walk from there is the Ibis museo hotel. It's typically a few $ cheaper and is fine inside. Recent reports also indicate it's girl friendly. Either one its about a 15 minute walk to SF or just walk over to Avenida Caracas for the Transmilenio bus at Calle 26 and take it to Calle 22 if you don't want to walk. It's only about the equivalent of 50-60 us cents one way. You can also use this option in the evening hours as the Calle 22 stop will have a couple of police officers wandering around it. Not sure what time the last bus is so just check.

2) Paisas and Troya will probably keep you happy, however you're probably going to be slight dissapounted if you visit the clubs during the day. They don't really come alive .

I assume you're talking about the JW. Yes, I would argue. A couple key things. Do not register her as a 2nd guest. Never do that with anyone unless you trust them completely. Think about it. You register them, they can come to the hotel at anytime when you're not there and say they lost their key and need access to their room. They're registered. Hotel will give them a key to you room. They can enter at any time. If you do bring a girl to your room, you register her as a "visitor". Now the hotel is within its rights to charge a guest fee, which many do. You should have researched this before hand, but they should not charge you VAT if you're a tourist. They will need to photocopy your entry stamp.

If you do register someone as a guest who is a Colombian citizen, I've read that it is likely that you will be charged VAT on your full stay. You may be able to argue that she only stayed 1 or 2 nights, and depending on your negotiation skills you could possibly get charged VAT for only those 2 nights, but I usually try to avoid the situation altogether.

I'll second that. I know that happened to me before. This is especially true when they offer to meet you at the airport. Got to admit, not a lot of Colombian girls / women are that gutsy to pull it off but it already happened. I was surprised.

During that same stay, I was charged VAT because the girl (Colombian local) was registered with me. I could've argued like posted but wasnt worth it. It really didn't amount to much since we were there like for only 4 nights.

I'm a first timer hoping to avoid paying this. If you could elaborate on what you mean by "registering a girl who is Colombian" I'd appreciate it. I figure I have to pay the VAT if I book the room for 2 and register a Colombian, but what if the booking is just for me and I have a girl or 2 visit for a few hours? Does the hotel taking their ID count as "registering" them? Should I dispute the VAT charge in that case, or maybe only dispute it if they're already charging a guest fee? I'd be pretty pissed if I get a surprise 20% tax on my total for a 1 week booking just for having a chica over for an hour.
