I am planning to remotely work from the Bogota hotel.

What is a quality of internet connection in Bogota?

Is it enough for remote working?

Internet in my place in Cartagena has been bad lately, so I would get a backup plan like having a hotspot with google fi which has unlimited data. AT&T has an unlimited Latin America $70 a month plan. Bogota is better than Cartagena with internet but the companies running the internet are pretty much the same in both cities.

But just so you know, I have always been able to get my work on the internet done in Colombia as long as I stay in the big cities. If you go 50 to 100 miles outside of Bogota though, you will have issues.

Bogota will have the internet backbone as good as any place. Your individual hotel it will depend. Just like anywhere else. But the co-work businesses will certainly have it.

You pretty much said the only trick I know LOL. I skip going to the bathroom once I exit the plane and go straight in line. Otherwise you'll be behind hundreds and take much longer.

Mexico City has the new int airport NLU (AIFA, Aeropuerto Internacional Filipe de Angeles) with 15 K feet runway, combined with the old MEX, both about 20 min taxi ride to Centro. They can handle lots of air traffic and are hubs with lots of cheap flights to South and Central America.

Cancun is one of Mexico's busiest airport, has lots of non-stop flights to various cities in Latin countries, Bogota, Medellin, Panama, Costa Rica ect. I have not checked but Cancun is a very popular vacation spot, so there should be nonstop flights to Rio and Buenos Aires.

Use MEX and CUN as gateways, you can book nonstop flights to Bogota or Medellin, Colombia for $617 RT. In MEX and CUN you can have short waits for connecting flights, or if fancy strikes, you can spend a few-day layover in each. Both are nice places to visit cheap:

CS, that is not that cheap. With advanced planning in not super busy times, you should be able to get a round trip flight to Colombia for around $200 from Florida, for $300 from the rest of the East Coast and Central USA like Texas, and for $400 from the West Coast. You want a search engine that includes Spirit. I think they have more flights to Colombia than anyone else.

Flight time from Texas to Colombia is pretty much the same as flight time from Mexico City which is around 5 hours. In contrast, Florida is a 2 or 3 hour flight from Colombia and you do not need to deal with Mexican customs.

Most people who fly to Colombia go through Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Thing is Spirit typically has dirt cheap seats available from Orlando and of those three cities Orlando is my preferred transfer city. So if being cheap is your bag, you can pick another low cost carrier like Frontier to get you to Orlando and then take Spirit in to Colombia.

I use skycanner.com to look at fares. I did find going through Mexico was often cheaper when going to Peru, but I have never seen it be cheaper when going to Colombia.

Besides there are tons and tons of airbnbs w / o strict rules, easier to use those if you plan to bring in lots of women. When I'm in real vacas and not working, I rent places without reception, private entry, and bring 2-4 women a day for sport fucking with no issues. Different places exist for diff purposes.

I agree with this, and this is the way I'm leaning. I'the just rather avoid the time wasted, awkwardness, and bullshit of trying to bring a girl into a building with a doorman. I don't care about bribing them either, they can buy their own dinner. Sometimes the listing shows the outside so you know it's not a secured (apart from a locked gate) building. And if they don't mention guests, better to ask for forgiveness than permission. I know a lot of people are hesitant to be in a place without a doorman, but to me it's better, I don't even want to have to make small talk with them even if it's just me there passing by them everyday. Just want to go about my business.

Another thing is these places almost always have other people living there anyway, so if anything really happens you can just make some noise, even though it's unlikely. Just don't drink anything you didn't pour around someone new, simple as that. The place I was at before the secured building even had a business next door with a guard that always has an eye around the corner where I was staying, so that was honestly the best of both worlds.

I've stayed in two places like this. And I'm considering just renting some cheap place, barely furnishing it, and being done with it so I can do what I want for once and all.

But yeah, it's always the nicer buildings in the nice areas that you're going to have trouble.

I've just learned I'm not a street or casa or club type of guy. I'the rather be in my place, relaxed, not thinking about how many people have been in the bed, etc.

Good report. I'm glad you are having fun. The prices in the Santa Fe clubs are quite high on a per hour basis. I similarly got quoted 150 k for un rato and 240 k for 30 minutes, all covered at Troya which I rejected. The girl was hot but it just isn't worth it. For 480 k / hour you can get a semi-pro on seeking. IMO the best value in Santa Fe remains the street girls. If the girl at Troya was an 8, the girl I found on the street was a 7. But I paid the street girl 70 k for a rato with BBBJ and some LFK. I added another 50 k for another 20 minutes which at 120 k was way better value than Troya.

The club atmosphere is nice and the lap dances are cool but as you mentioned, there is no one to complain to for bad service as the girls are independent and can easily move to a new club.

It's a 25 min taxi drive for me to SF, but so worth it each time even w that bad experience in Paisas. The street girls are definitely worth it, some have offered even 50 k for a quickie. I must give credit to club Texas and California which I forgot to mention. Those girls arent the prettiest but they don't really charge for lap dances. But I always tip and some are pretty. If you go early Texas is usually crowded with locals, and the girls are nice. Just go to an outside hotel 10 k instead of inside the clubs since the rooms there arent so clean, at least when I did. 60-70 k for the girl. Same pricing in California late nights. Nearly empty but you can find few gems inside once in a while. Staff is a bit more attentive in those. When I arrive and walked a bit I want to sit and drink, converse, so the clubs are good for that, but again, so many beauties outside. After I chat with the chicas and bought them drinks, if I don't take them to a room I'll tip 20 k min and they seem to be impressed with that. Next time they see me or in the streets it's always titty hugs LOL.

Overalll SF's a good spot to hang and very safe. Something for everyone and for every budget.

I think you misunderstanding the purpose. It's not to circumvent a buildings rules. It's to force the clear disclosure of what the actual rules are. And while I do suggest it could cause the host to change their rules - that would be so it would be in line with the buildings.

It allowed me to successfully avoid buildings and / or owners with strict rules 100% of the time. And it's allowed me to successfully book airbnbs with super easy / relaxed policies 100% if the time. I've literally had hosts tell me to have fun..

Obviously anyone can do what they want. I wasn't trying to say you're 60 and you assumed I was referring to you. You made a public post in a monger forum, and perhaps many other gents that will follow your instructions and tips will be 60+. No humor these days? That's all that was.

It's pretty simple, just follow and honor someone's house rule is always best. To me respect goes a long way and I don't even have to explain the safety benefits. You're using all types of complex explanations to have to lie about colleagues in the area that you don't have. I'm just saying, take from an experienced traveler that never ends well and it's wrong. These hosts and guards aren't slow. They know. Sometimes they want to keep your business and they say nothing, but you didn't play them.
