It depends on the ATM you go to, I usually used Colpatria / Scotiabank because they charged the withdrawals in Pesos and my bank would do the conversion plus fees, Now they changed it to you having to accept their exchange rate, plus an extra 15 k exchange fee.

So when I withdrew 900 k last week, it would normally be around 185 after my bank conversion plus fees. It turned into 197 with the new one.

That sucks. Colpatria has been my go to ATM. Anyone know what the current cash rate spread is at those exchange kiosks along the streets?

Use Davivienda ATMS, limit is 2 million and no ATM fees.

- There is a very cute girl on Carrera 16. As you walk from Calle 23 to Calle 24, one of the first places on the right as you past by the first bar. IMO, she is the best I've seen. The places in SF will always try to rip you off for the Vat which foreigners don't have to pay. Hotels will try to do the same. Be aware.

I think technically if you have a 2nd guest in the room that is colombian, you do have to pay the VAT tax. Fortunately until the end of this year colombians are also exempt.

I agree with this. Especially if you could find an Airbnb on Kr 4 a -- very pleasant area with a lot of good restaurants / coffee / beer. That area is close to where I stayed = very convenient. Unfortuantely, I haven't sussed out how to get the exact address for an Airbnb before renting, and although the "Equiibrium" tower (directly on Kr 7 at calle 31) had a lap pool and a jacuzzi, it was kind of otherwise alienating and cold. A dozen good / authentic restaurants on calle 30 up the hill from La Septima; although, I think they may be just day time only. I walked up there with my veneca on Sunday about 7 -- all closed. Maybe that street is a few blocks north of La Macarena. Technically, I think La Macarena is completely within Santa Fe.

90 percent of the time I'll be renting an AirBnb in a condo building. I just ask the host the name of the building and then look it up on google maps. Easy.

Which girl friendly 5 star hotel did you stay. Coming for work and looking for the same.

Marriott hotel near the airport. Not the courtyard but that is nice too. Very girl friendly. It is expensive now, but if you have points, they have always been dirt cheap with regards to points. Only 16,000 per night. Beautiful place. Indoor pool. Great restaurants. Netflix on the TV. Awesome gym. This hotel has the best food I have had in Colombia. For real. I have never had a problem with women wanting to leave that hotel early. They love it there.

- My friends and I went to a club during the weekday, about a mile north of Zona T. I'm guessing it was Olympia, but I didn't check the name. Regardless, all the clubs seems to be the same.

- We got there around 1 am on a weekday. Not that crowded. But at around 2 am, it got a lot more crowded.

- Some people say that the same girls who work Santa Fe work at these type of clubs. Probably correct in which the same type of girls work at both places. But I'm a half empty type of guy. You might want to divide by 4500, currently by 5000, instead of multiplying. 200 k is $40. If you multiply, you get $900,000,000 USD, which is a bit out of most people's price range, even if anal is included.

- EVERY single waiter will scam the tourists. I don't think that is an exaggeration. Some are worst then others.

- Numbers are from last year. With inflation as high it is, it might have changed a little bit.

- My friends and I went to the strip club near Troya. We had 3 drinks. Waiter charged us 40 K. Way too much. Since my friend paid and didn't care, that waiter scammer will do it again.

- We went to Troya. We had a few drinks plus a drink for a girl. It seems the prices are the same for us and the girl. He tried to charge us 80 K. Since I was paying, and I cared (not about the money, but the principle), I went to the bartenders. They are usually honest. The price was 51 or 52 K.

- At Troya last year, the price for a Corona was 22 K. Some guy said the waiter charged him 40 K. Yes, you got ripped off.

- California seems to be the worst. Again a waiter attempted to charge me 15 K for a beer. A beer that probably was 6 or 7 K. I don't trust the bartender at California. The bartenders at Troya and Venus are honest. The waiters at Venus aren't that bad. They "only" tried to charge me 8 K for a 6 K Poker beer. LOL!

- I tip, but I hate to be scammed. I don't see locals tip for 1 beer. Is that the norm?

- I think the waiters get a commission for each drink they sell. Maybe 2 K? One method I tried is to tell them upfront, I don't pay 100% tip, but I will give a 2 K tip. Most / all waiters should be ecstatic for a 2 K tip for 1 drink.
