Both show up on google maps right next to each other. All the Colombians I talk to know exactly where Zona T is when I tell them I am staying here. It seems like they are just next to each other but I would welcome clarification from a local. I am still a newbie.

I believe that Zona T is a part of Zona Rosa, although I need to look at the map to be sure which part.

This is true in most all of Latin America, but Locumbia puts a twist on it with bureaucratic process, paperwork, and non-functional websites. It's comical when it's a small amount, and madening when it's a large amount.

But to take it a step further. A few examples like this. One was an online purchase from Exito (Colombia knock off of target) delived by courier. Simple kitchen appliance needed for the apartment at cost of 120.000. Smoothish online purchase and no shipping charge, got it in 1 day. Novia claimed it didn't work like she wanted (I was fine with it). But those with a colombiana novia will know that there's no changing of that opinion. So whatever, she wanted it not me. So she does the return, the website worked but of course it asked for the purchase identification in 3 different order numbers, cedula, place of birth, blood type, and 10 other forms of personal information, and the credit card. Email with labels for return and courier picks up. So I check my card online. No refund. Wait a few days. Then a week, no refund. I tell her I'm just going to file the dispute with credit card co. Novia will have none of that, she takes it as a personal crusade to get the refund. Of course I have to help her log in and find the hidden customer service / complaints contact info, but whatever. So over the course of 2 weeks, she spends probably 10 hours trying to get the 120,000 refunded on my card. Without success. But better her to have that drama than some manufactured drama en casa. So I'm mildly entertained by it for 2 weeks. Then I file the dispute without telling her. Probably takes me 3 minutes. Case close but I don't tell novia. She gave up her crusade, and now has to bring it up every time we go to exito or carula (same company).

Got other stories like that with presencial stuff. Nail parlor, defective running shoes.

Got to laugh.

But if it was $500 with Dann Carleton. Damn, sorry for your loss.

We got charged like 6000 pesos by Uber, the car never showed up so we cancelled and they still charged her card. I had to hear about it for days. She was shooting texts and like you searching for complaint lines on line and bla bla bla. Finally she got the 6000 back and she felt like she won the lottery. I tried to reason with her, the old effort vs reward scenario, she didn't get and would have none of it. I gave up. Like you said if you know latinas, I was not going win that argument. Pick your battles with a Latina, especially a Colombiana.

Thanks for the info. I did change my Airbnb today to be in Zone T proper. (before I thought zone T meant Tolerance Zone). I checked the place I was going to stay at more thoroughly and figure better change to be on the safe side.

This way, I can jump on a cab to go down to SF, and I can change things up if I want to.

I only recall 1 memership. Only differerence I think is how you pay. It lets you private message. No exchaging of contact info in public here. I posted about the easiest way at least for me to get it using a Rocketcoin ATM in a gas station in the US. Much easier than the other bitcoin options if you do not have it already.

JhuaP - Just clarifying. There is Zona T which is in the north which is where all the night clubs and fancy restaurants are and is real safe, even late at night unless you do stupid things. It is where I sometimes stay for work. It is nice to visit but not a mongering area. Well, except for the swinger clubs.

Zona Tolerance is Santa Fe which sounds like where you are staying. It is where you need to be much more careful and consider hoping in a taxi right out of the club late at night if you are not experienced. Definitely get a membership and contact Woodman.

Yes, you need to be aware of your surroundings. Colombia's a little more dangerous than CR / Thailand.

Zona T's up in the north. Just a bunch of typical nightclubs and restaurants. You're staying near "Santa Fe", where the hoes at.

Message Woodman to get a tour. It's cheap and worth it, at least to know the prices.

I'm new here on ISG, but I have viewed the forums on a number of occasions over the years while 'traveling' the world.

I should start by thanking everyone that inputs in this forum, lots of good information to learn, so thank you for your time and effort.

I'm heading to Bogota and SF on June 16 for a few days. It won't be my first time in Colombia and I speak decent Spanish. From what I've been reading, it will be a little different from Thailand, CR (Jaco) or Panama.

I booked a guest friendly Airbnb near carrera 5 and calle 19, Torre Barcelona, It look like a close walk from the action or taxi ride.

From what I read, I'll have to keep my eyes a lot more open than places like Thailand or Jaco. Does everyone leave the Zone T before nightfall? Or do you just jump into a taxi ASAP if you stay late into the night.

If anyone is around during that time in June and would like to grab a beer, hit me up.

I will also pass along any new information I learn, ect. Or if people have questions about other places around the world.
