After reading multiple negative reports on the living conditions at the Tequendama hotel, I took other bm'ers advice and shelled out an extra 15 usd per night and booked my stay at the Tequendama suites which is a 2-3 minute walk away. I highly recommend it too!

Quick question. I don't recall you answered that did they charged for guests? Like even few hours or over night.

Let me know what you find about a hotel. I like to stay at a nice hotel that will check the ID of the guest (Just for my safety).

Pretty much every hotel or apartment rental require every guest to show ID and sign in even if they don't charge a fee.

According to a couple people in this thread, the only places that won't are private apartments being leased out on Airbnb, but this isn't always true either.

We like the location, the grand old style, and the fact that it's frequently half deserted, but after our last stay, it'll be never again unless it's double-pane windows.

I guess I will look into Tequendama suits as price seems to be reasonable ($50) for luxury suite which has separate living room which is the most convenient for two people when one is banging chica in room and the other can be busy in living room..

If you're referring to the Hilton or Marriott in Chapinero, they charge for bringing guests to your room. Most international hotel chains in the city will charge you each time and won't let you bring more than 1 guest. I opted for an apartment rental off Airbnb because you can bring someone to your apartment for no charge for a few hours, but they do charge $10 if they stay overnight (which I will not be doing, but is a very fair price).

Because you're going this weekend, I would recommend you just email or call them instead of hoping someone will answer in time. I tell them I'm visiting on business and would need to have coworkers stop by my place. That's how I found out the Hilton and Marriott in Chapinero charge.
