How good is your spanish? If you don't speak spanish, there's a pretty good chance your american "game" will not translate into Colombian "game".

Well I'm not from the USA but from Canada. I'm a CBC. Canadian Born Asian. I've mongered in Europe where my work travels brought me. I'm just starting to do research for when I head down to Bogota for work late Summer. My Spanish is next to none but I'm going to start taking lessons.

So after the Shwarma I was walking around and noticed a cute chica I had been eyeing earlier on. Earlier she had a guy in tow so I didn't bother talking to her. I tried the empanada place across from Santa Fe suites today. Very tasty! And cheap to boot. Its was a bit hard to find since there is no signage. I think the street number is 22 a-06. I also tried King Shwarma and realized I had tried it before. I definitely remember the stand, it used to be at the end of the street. I was wondering where it had gone. Thanks for the info!

Since the Venezuelans have come there are some good street stands that are right in Santa Fe-- One I like is a fried empanada place right across the street from the Santa Fe Suites-- these ladies run it and actually use a store front and operate the stand on the side walk-- . 35 empanadas and a chicken beef arepa for $2-- I eat there often.

Shwarma Rey in the middle of Santa Fe on carrera 16 in the middle of the red light area is a popular place-- Gabo the owner started it as a street stand and it is now a restaurant.

I'll give it a try before my Bogota flight this Thursday and report back. I've been to Medellin and Cartagena. I was suppose to go Barranquilla this month, but with the recent lockdowns and the airline giving me the option to get a credit I took it as a sign from the Monger Gods to head to Bogota instead.
