I tried the empanada place across from Santa Fe suites today. Very tasty! And cheap to boot. Its was a bit hard to find since there is no signage. I think the street number is 22 a-06. I also tried King Shwarma and realized I had tried it before. I definitely remember the stand, it used to be at the end of the street. I was wondering where it had gone. Thanks for the info!

Yes, the empanadas are so good-- you could get fat and the Areapas for $5 or 6 mil super good-- super cheap And that is the correct address on Carrera 16-- here is a photo.

American Airlines started a program called Verify that will allow you to upload your Covid Test results prior to checking and boarding international flights via an app.

I'll give it a try before my Bogota flight this Thursday and report back. I've been to Medellin and Cartagena. I was suppose to go Barranquilla this month, but with the recent lockdowns and the airline giving me the option to get a credit I took it as a sign from the Monger Gods to head to Bogota instead.

Like some have said before. Yes you will stick out. Yes I get chino everytime I walk around Santa Fe. I also pretty frequently get the kung fu Hay yah! How good is your spanish? If you don't speak spanish, there's a pretty good chance your american "game" will not translate into Colombian "game".

Have not eaten there in a long time-- Will have to check it out-- I had thought it was average-- maybe it changed.

Since the Venezuelans have come there are some good street stands that are right in Santa Fe-- One I like is a fried empanada place right across the street from the Santa Fe Suites-- these ladies run it and actually use a store front and operate the stand on the side walk-- . 35 empanadas and a chicken beef arepa for $2-- I eat there often.

Shwarma Rey in the middle of Santa Fe on carrera 16 in the middle of the red light area is a popular place-- Gabo the owner started it as a street stand and it is now a restaurant.

Places to Eat near Santa Fe up 22nd street and Cr 7.

There is a few nice places to eat near Santa Fe-- My favorite burger place-.

So now I am trying SA. I'll be arriving in Bogata Tuesday. I've been through all the threads collecting info. If any one can advise where I can find a nice Private house or apt near the Tzone I would be forever grateful. I've been through Abnb. Not much there. Also, if anyone else is going to be in Bogota next week. I'd be interested in having a wingman. I'm expecting a much different, more dangerous environment than in Asia. I m all ears on any advise you might offer.
