Just to close out on this subject. Thats a good find Mr E. I actually feel better there is some reasoning behind the fine amount he showed me. However I don't think he was just warning me and would have let me go. He had broke away from the other group and was solely focused on me and was impeding my progress. He kept translating on his phone that I had my mas in my pocket and not wearing it like it was a clear violation.

Anyways I am out of there and that's all it matters.

Yes Woodman is perfect, knows SF better than his hands. He is welcoming, polite, not pushy and very good value for the money he asks for his tours. When I am in Bogota we always meet, have lunch or dinner and of course later in the evening, Santa Fe!

Okay. I have this thing figured out now. I don't think he wanted $300. I think he was just rounding off and WARNING you that the fine is $300 since the fine actually is 936,320 pesos ($266). You could have said okay gracias and walked off. But instead YOU OFFERED money! LOL. At least you were not the guy saying take me to the police station! That would have really confused him.
