I need a taxi service from airport to hotel San Francisco in Bogota. I asked the hotel, but they just told the price and not if it's possible to pick me up. I Asked again, until now no answer. Calling, I did it two times, nobody speaks English so it doesn't make sense to call again. I don't speak Spanish. Any idea? Thanks.

After a lot of travelling, I have concluded that the differences in thinking / feeling between people from different countries aren't nearly as big as the differences between men and women. And as far as culture goes, differences between countries are less significant than differences between social classes within countries. If you are middle class, you are more likely to have a successful LTR with a middle class Colombian than with someone who is working class from your own country. And if you're liberal, you'll have more thinking in common with a Colombian liberal than with a conservative from your own country.

I am now seeing a Venezuelan girl from an impoverished middle class family. I started talking to her on SA last year. A large number of girls cannot hold a conversation beyond: "Hola amor, como ests? But this one I could talk to. Her spanish spelling is better than mine, which cannot be said for many of the girls I chat to. She was at home in VZ with no options in life, but recently made it out to Bogot. So I took a risk and sent her money to take a bus and come and stay with me for a week, sight unseen. I've found girls to be a little hesitant at first, but then very interested and receptive to foreigners that have a grasp of Spanish and interest in their culture.

I am always taken aback when a chick says you don't understand because you are not from my culture. Or this is not working because we are from different cultures. As if being from the same culture makes everything peechy keen.

I then ask, well what happened with your last boyfriend. He cheated on me, or he was an abuser, or he didn't show me enough attention, etc. But aren't you from the same culture? Works the same way with religion. They want a guy that is Christian. But wasn't the last mf that was beating on your ass and cheating on you Christian? I think I am too logical for many people.

P. S. I did get an MBA in International Business because I like to study different cultures. But I have found that when male-female relationships are concerned, except for a couple of customs, cultural differences really play no factor. You can see this when people in the military go all over the world marrying people from different countries. That corporal in the Army can not say kiss my ass in Korean, but he and his wife and their 2 kids seem to be getting along just fine.

Well said. I think time is needed to get in good with a girl from any culture other than your own. I once had a great LTR with a Peruvian / Costa Rican mix, but that's only because she came up to NY for college and we had the time to get to know each other (and I had time to learn culture and Spanish).

Your girl could just as well be different. IMO it does not take a genius to realize when one is being used. If you have to give a chick money then no your girl is not different. If you have a girl like my chick in Cali that makes 1 million pesos / month and sometimes makes desserts to sell for extra money and does not ask you for anything but to spend time with her then you girl is different.

Interesting to hear you found Bogota different to what you are used to in SE Asia, I am planning a trip to Bogota next month after having mainly mongered in Pattaya. I have decided to switch to Bogata simply because the cost of fucking in Pattaya has shot through the roof. Soi six, BF, LD and whatever the lady gets being around 1600 baht or $176,000 COP as to what I am reading around $40,000 Cop for a sweet streety Santa Fe girl.
