Overall, it's a great city (albeit a little expensive) , especially the accommodation.

Actually, if you want to economize in Bogota there are many good restaurants that are not expensive that locals go to ($3-$5 lunches) also coffee places, bars.

If you are in an AirBnB and cook a bit that would really be cheap.

I live here on less than $500 a month, and I eat out a lot (but not pussy, LOL).

I agree wholeheartedly this is a fabulous place. I've been living here since 2005. But I'd give the same advice in most cities worldwide. Taxi drivers are ass, and Uber is amazing. Uber really really increased my quality of life here.
