When I go into the clubs they follow me around trying to get us to sit, we continue walking through and I say we want to look ¨queremos ver¨. You are supposed to buy a drink but sometimes we will stand there a minute or two just checking out the scene and I will slip the guy 1-2 mil. And they are happy. I have many friends in SF who help me with tables and they will alert the girls to sashay by and flirt with us. If you sit and don't want a drink you can give the waiter 1-2 mil and that should buy you enough time to know if you want to stay.

Poker Beers cost $5-$8 mil same as water in most of the clubs. Coronas or RedBull More. Ask your waiter.

Having read Routard's comprehensive report about Bogota on the FAQ's, I reckon Chapinero would be a good neighborhood to stay in, as there is daytime and nightime action there and it's not too far from Santa Fe either. The brothels / clubs seem to be all over the place there from my google map reseach, as do the hotels there. Is there any part of Chapinero where many clubs / brothels are concentrated? I can't see that from my research. As as European, I would like to be able to walk to a few, and not hop around all over the place constantly by Taxi, in the daytime at least.

I've also seen a lot of availability of nice Airbnb places in Chapinero, I noted what Routard said about them having doormen / security. What's the general policy there about bringing visitors to your place, as long as they have ID its no problem for the security? I noticed on one apartment for rent, where they stated clearly 'No escorts allowed!' But for all others I checked there was no mention about it. Wouldn't really like to ask the host before booking 'Is it OK to bring visitors', unless I have to. So what's the general policy?

Go on wikisexguide and type in Bogota. There is a map of the Santa Fe "Tolerance Zone" that is very accurate, including the safest way to walk in. I highly recommend you not walk even one block out of that area. There are a lot of shady looking characters standing on corners and walking around. Practically every building on Carrera 15 and 16 has rooms where you can do the girls standing out front. The chicas change as the day goes on- some of these work here during the day and at other more expensive places later. The clubs are mixed in, so like I said there is literally something to do in each space. You will be approached by people selling candy or trying to lure you into a club. Just say no gracias and wave them off. Make sure you have no watch or ring or anything else fancy showing. I had my prescription sunglasses on and was on Carrera 16 A and a young man crossed the street and told me he wanted to trade my sunglasses for his cheap pair. He did not understand that they were prescription. So, he grabbed my jacket and pulled out a knife with the blade still sheathed and pointed to my glasses. I got away from him and ran and he did not come after me. That was at 2 PM with others around. He never showed the blade, but that was a little scary. So, I just stay on 15 and 16 now. I have never been there after dark, but have been there morning and afternoon. It is the cheapest place in Bogota with the most variety. Every type and race of women is represented. 18 to 40's. Curvy and skinny. Tall and short. Lots of cute women but also some that look thin and slightly unhealthy. Many are Venezuelans who are desperate for money. I smile and treat them well and pay their very small fee and have never had a bad one in the room.
