Routard: Can't answer on it of course, just guessing. It happened to me a couple of times that pros who have spotted me before in a brothel just meet me by accident in a regular place and try to fake a regular encounter.

No, they made direct proposals. I think some young ladies feel if they can grab some cash quickly, why not try. Essentially an opportunistic, semi-pro.

Then again, I also saw two younger gringos begging two Paisas not to get in a cab and the only explanation I could think of from what I saw was that they didn't realize there was a cost to finish the night on a bang.

This happened to me also, but it was not a pro, just a desperate and drunk ex girl friend that tried to stay sleeping with me but I was fed up of her attitude and just pushed her and her amiga in a cab begging them to go home. When the taxi finally left with both girls inside, I realized people around me in the street found the scene very comic, a gringo trying to get rid of two young Colombianas,

That's a great question and I hope someone can help me out on this. When I was staying in Poblado, I went to an area with a few bars and discos that was just off to the west side of the Autopista, south of Poblado. My last visit to Medellin I could not find the area and I did go to all of main ones including Laureales, La 33, La 70 y Las Palmas. The funny thing was when I went there 4 years ago, it was after going to Las Palmas and not being to get into the regular disco. I didn't want to go to a night club, so the taxi driver took me there.

Any ideas where I was?

Yes. I know right where you were. It's as you said, on the west side of the Autopista, just south of the Aguacatala metro station. Never went in, but passed by it all the time.

Thanks JjBee. So I looked at Google Maps. Seems like two possibilities. Discoteca Palmahia, Cll 86 (which is referred to as a Night Club on Google Maps) and Discoteca Fahrenheit, Cll 84. From the layout of the streets, my guess is it was Discoteca Palmahia.

To make it short: there are no such bars or night clubs where pros and regular girls are mixed. And funny, each time someone is asking for it on the Bogota thread claiming that it exists in Medellin but no one is able to give the adresses of these supposed places in Medellin. It is not possible for a couple of reasons. One reason is that no regular girl would go to have fun in a place where are pros and punters. Another reason is that the owner needs to control his business and would not allow unidentified pros to enter in a regular place. There are indeed some pros in zona T looking for gringos but it's a scam. They use scopolamine to rob their victims. Serious places such as Irish Pub would never allow those girls to operate inside their business. If you are looking for pros, for your own safety go and get them in places designed for it and where they are controled. Places such as Gringo Tuesdays or Irish Pub are to pick up regular girls, and there are plenty of regular girls willing to meet gringos. If you want to pay them, you would ruin it and end up without sex. Just don't mix the places and mix pros with regulars girls.

Thanks for the confirmation on the Irish Pub and the recommendation of Gringo Tuesdays. I will look into that.

As for finding a mix in Medellin, I guess you know my experience better than I do.

Gents, I'm living in Bogota and was wondering if anyone could recommend regular clubs where older Gringos would not stand out like a sore thumb. In Medellin I found clubs where most of the people were regular customers, but there were plenty of working girls who would go home for a propina. It was fun because you could party before the climax of the evening.

That combination would be perfect, but even a club without some working girls where there are gringos are common enough would be good too.

On that note, a long time ago I read that the Irish Pub or the Pub in Zona T on Cra. 12 a ##83-48 is also a place for gringos to mingle with Bogotanas. Is that still the case?

In any case, it would be a pleasure to go with any of you gents.

Yes. I know right where you were. It's as you said, on the west side of the Autopista, just south of the Aguacatala metro station. Never went in, but passed by it all the time.
