For someone who has never been to Colombia you certainly do know a lot of wrong information.

We went over this with you last year and you / re back repeating the same garbage. Bogota is a city of nearly 12 million people. Like any mega-city there are plenty of areas that should be avoided. For a tourist, that's pretty easy to do. As long as you stay out of those areas and you pay attention to what you are doing, Bogota is not an unsafe city. If you stay in the right areas, it's safer than most comparable north American cities. Does that mean you should stagger around drunk at 4 am? No. But if you use common sense, stay to the populated areas you have very little to worry about..

In Colombia seeing sex workers is legal but only in designated areas (which likely means it is illegal around the relatively safe areas outside Santa Fe like Chapinero I suppose). I don't know how harsh the penalty is to see workers outside the designated zone or if it is enforced at all but I can understand why someone not being comfortable with guards watching over who comes to my room or worse ask for her ID. I am though aware that in Colombia all hotels and buildings have guards even those rented through airbnb likely because the city is so unsafe that having guards is a must.

One reason you have very little to worry about is because of all those security guards and police officers. My last visit to Bogota, 7 weeks ago, I walked nearly 20 miles over 3 days and never felt the least bit threatened. I also rode the Transmilenio and hopped off at several different random stations, just to walk around for awhile to see the areas. I did this in the parts of the city that I know are not the areas to stay out of. No problems. I walked in the morning, afternoon, evening and at night up until almost midnight. Not once did I find myself the least bit uncomfortable or worried.

Wherever you are in Bogota (or any other Colombian city) you have very little to worry about from the police for dealing with prepagos. As long as you are not attempting something with girls who are under the legal age and you are not being stupid about it the police have better things to worry about. I've had police officers give a smile and wave while talking to obvious prostitutes a long way from the Zona de Tolerencia. I've had them walk by less than 2 feet away and not pay any attention at all.

Now to all those security guards that you are worried about checking a woman's ID. The only reason why any visitor to Colombia would worry about having a prepagos ID checked is if they are specifically searching for girls who are under the legal age. If that is what you are looking for, stay out of Colombia. I'm pretty sure you will not like the prisons. If that is not what you are looking for, then you have nothing to worry about. They are checking the cedula to protect you and to protect their property. Unless you plan to specifically find a building with no security (which seems strange considering you think Bogota is so incredibly dangerous), if you have a woman come to your room her cedula is going to be checked. It might even be photocopied, or held at the desk until she leaves. If you can't deal with that there are other options. You can go to a club, casa or massage parlor where you can do your thing on the premises. You can take whatever girl you want to a love motel. Of course they will still check your passport and herr cedula there, but they aren't about to call the police because somebody came to their motel to fuck. That's why they are in business.

Do yourself a favor. Stay home. You've been told all of this information several times already and you apparently can't grasp it.

I never ever heard from any mongerer, any sex worker or from any media that someone received a penalty in Colombia for prostitution as long as it is between consentent adults. And I'm living here.

In Colombia you will always have a guard watching who is entering and exiting, hotels or private apartments strato 4-6. They really don't care if you bring a prepago, they just care for your safety. If you don't want any guard, then you have to go to a love motel. Or a private apartment in strato 1-3 that you won't find on Air BnB. If you need one, just pm me.

Of course. And the agency's charging around 600 K-650 K for two hours. That's about twice the going rate in Bogota. It could of course be a VIP site catering to foreign business men. But it isn't: nothing on the site is translated to English or any other foreign language. Pure scam!

People didn't really know much English. Actually, people in Thailand and Cambodia generally knew more English than the Colombians. But, with my limited Spanish ability and Google translate, it wasn't that hard. Your ability to give green money is what matters.

Funny how that works huh. My traveling friends and I always found it funny how SE Asians are so far removed from English speakers geographically, culturally, linguistically. But so many seem to have basic English down. Evenen in not touristy areas. Meanwhile in Colombia most I have come across struggle with English or simply not too interested.

In about 3 weeks, my flight will be arriving into BOG at about 11 am on a weekday. I will need to get to my rented condo located just a few blocks from Pussy House in Chapinero. Uber estimates the fare at a max 23,000 cop. I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure just a month or so ago the Uber price was around 15 k.

I am open to taking a taxi from BOG, but I assume it's rip-off city for tourists like it is in Pattaya & Santo Domingo. But maybe I'll get a fair price as its all regulated with pre-set reasonable prices like I experienced my one visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico??

The owner of the condo I'm renting has offered a taxi for 40 k claiming that the taxi will have to pay for parking. What is a taxi I grab at the airport going to run?

Many girls. Most of the girls were average, but a few were decent. One was very cute. Only 30 K Cop for 20 minutes. I felt very comfortable there, drinking beers.

But, most will not do BBBJ. A few girls offered to do it for a 50 K Cop tip. I said yes to the BBBJ, and that included CIM and Rimming, which I didn't ask for, but I was pleasantly surprised when it was included.

But I think I was charged the foreigner surcharge a few times. One girl said it was 40 K for 20 minutes. With one girl I had previously, I paid 30 K for 20 minutes (normal prices). Later I asked for 30 minutes, and she said it was 50 K Cop. But still, 40 K, 50 K is incredibly cheap (from a Californian perspective).

Wow! I really, really like Colombia. I normally party in SouthEast Asia. Colombia is up there (might be better depending on your preferences) with Thailand, Cambodia and Philippines. I am definitely returning soon!

Uber sucks! I used Uber most of the time. I felt more safe and comfortable. But the Uber drivers are incompetent. The Uber driver seems to be ignorant of the city layout, especially in Candelaria, with all the one-way streets. Once, 3 consecutive Uber drivers were not able to get to me, even though my pinpoint on the App was accurate. Many times, the drivers would circle around, taking a long time to get to me. Also, after they picked me up, they after trouble navigating. The problem is that the driver would look at the App for directions (and not look at the road), and due to the lag, they would sometimes miss the turns.

Also, after approximately 2 PM, the Uber surge pricing was mostly on for the entire day / night. But even with the surge pricing, the prices were cheap, compared to Western prices. I also attempted to use Easy Taxi (this is another taxi App). But Easy Taxi is useless during most of the day if you don't add a large tip. None of the drivers are willing to pick you up for the normal low fares. Next time, thinking about taking more of the local taxi on the street. If you hop into a local taxi, do you have to negotiate, or do you just pay the meter?

If you don't get a good referral here, you may want to make your own contact thru Uber Black. I just went to the Uber app, and priced out a trip from Pussy House in Chapinero to La Piscina. The price for Black was 15 k, and 10 k for UberX. Both these prices were higher fares than normal due to increased demand. In my experience both in the USA & abroad, Ubers are usually more than happy to go on a non-Uber cash basis.

Do you know what the taxi's at the airport charge to Chapinero?

I paid 69 K white taxi and 29 K yellow taxi to Andino both in day time, which is 6 K further than Chapinero. So, your yellow taxi to Chapinero has to be close to 25 K.
