Thanks but it would be too late to learn now as I will arrive in Bogota in 3 weeks. I must have super mind to learn a fourth language in just 3 weeks. Just got back from my first trip to Bogota. Spent 6 days there, and it was a pleasant trip with better than expectation on the mongering side. This was my third trip to Colombia this year. The previous 2 trips were to Medellin. I will do a comparison between the 2 cities according to my own experience later when I sum up the report.

I spent all 6 days around Parque 93 area. I got enough business to keep me busy here, and the traffic in Bogota just made it difficult to venture out, especially with all constructions aiming to improving the traffic going on in the area. It could have been better if I had figured out how to use the public transportation system, but I didn't spend the efforts to study that, and was not sure if that was what I wanted to take on my first trip.

For accommodation, I spent the first 2 nights at an apartment, but later move to a hotel for the rest of my stay. Although area around Parque 93 is arguably the best area in Bogota, It is still not comparable to the US standard in many aspects. Construction noise is unbearable during the day, and apartment buildings are close to one another, so the window blinds of my apartment remained closed at all time. I don't know if most of the buildings in Bogota have heating unit. Mine didn't, so it was quite cold this time of the year. I moved to Hotel Exe Bacata right next to Club Lido (not my intention) and glad that I made the move. I reserved for 2 persons, so didn't have problem or get charged for visiting chica. Paid around $80/ night for an upgraded room including breakfast for 2. There are many good hotels around at very reasonable price. Next time, I would probably stay around Calle 85 area. It seemed like there are a lot more restaurants, shopping malls and other activities. In Bogota, every building has security guards at the entrance, and mostly visitors have to register with them. So staying at an apartment doesn't really provide convenience for bringing back chicas.

On the mongering side, it wasn't the main purpose of my trip, so I only have limited experiences to report in a city so immense and full of all kind of opportunities. I only went to 4 clubs, bars and one massage parlor. The first night I went to Juan Pablo Zhivago. Small establishments with about 12 chicas the night I went. Very relax atmosphere, and no pressure of any kind to buy drinks for yourself or the chicas, but drinks are certainly expensive. I paid around 240 K for 3 Coronas for myself and 2 coronas for 2 chicas. Around 150 K if you want to use the onsite facility with the girl, and girls ask around 300-350 k for 1-2 hours. I didn't use their room there, but they gave me the impression that they are not clock watching. I went there late, so I hung around till the closing hour of 5 AM. Girls are all willing to go out with you after their shift there, and the club doesn't care. I picked a 21 year old spinner for 120 USD to go back to my apartment. We didn't discuss the time, but she just stayed until 10 AM in the morning. Outstanding GFE with the spinner, it was so good that we hooked up again 2 days later.

The second night I went to Lido. Before arriving here I went to another one close by, Punto, but it was very quiet with about 20 girls on duty. I was the one customer at 10:30 PM. In these clubs or bars, I think the prices are higher than other establishments in Bogota, but I would think the average quality of girls also reflects that. I think most of the customers just go there to drink and have a good time at the same time get the feeling of the girls. If they feel good about the girls, they get the contact info, and see each other outside for a lower cost, and to avoid the takeout fee. Unless it is specified, most hotels have neither heat nor air conditioning. Unless you get a few cool, cloudy, rainy days in a row, heat isn't necessary. Hotels from Zona Rosa north generally run from $50 to $100 per night with breakfast included.

The construction is neverending and can be quite a pain with the noise. Worse, sometimes they'll have a problem requiring work late into the night.

I think there are more of the better (and more expensive) dining options around Parque 93, and more cheaper options and nightclubs in Zona Rosa. Around Calle 85 is a good location, as both areas are just a short walk away.

There are 2 public transportation systems, SITP and Transmilenio. SITP are the blue and green buses that run the major streets and Transmilenio is the big red buses that run dedicated lanes down the main thoroughfares. I've never used SITP, but the Transmilenio is easy. Most places there is a walkway crossing over the highway to reach the Transmilenio station. Go to the booth hand over 2000 pesos (or more) and they will hand a a card. You don't need to worry about the destination, just hand over the money. Use the card at the turnstile, then find the bus routes you want. Most routes run every few minutes. For the 1 fare you can change buses as many times as you want as long as you don't exit a station. Most stations are named for the cross street. There are route maps showing which route stops at each station. There is also an app for your phone.

I find the Transmilenio a cheap and easy way to get a general view of different parts of the city. If you just want to get a quick view of the different areas, hope the next uncrowded bus going the right way. Just keep switching buses until you find an area you want to check out more.

In Montreal everyone doesn't speak both languages. I've had several phone conversations, arranging international shipments, where the resident English speaker had to be tracked down. And there are certainly people who've moved to Montreal without ever learning French. As for Ontario, taking a class in high school, doesn't automatically equal speaking the language.
